One last coupon trip this week

Posted in: Uncategorized  //  Comments (25)

If you’ve been neglecting this deal, I think it’s worth doing after the kids are in bed. Sale ends at closing tonight!

Read how HERE.

This was the best deal I’ve got in awhile. I did five transactions that all looked like the picture at right. My total was $4.02 each time. I’ll submit a rebate and receive $3 back for each transactions (I’ll be using 5 different addresses of family and friends since only one rebate per address is allowed.)

So I got 5 packages of Huggies Diapers and 5 Blood Glucose Monitors ($50-80 retail which I will donate) for $5.10 TOTAL (after rebate savings)

Rest assured Krazy Coupon Rick, the honeymoon is over for me too, but sometimes a screaming deal like this one still gets my blood pumping!

Krazy Coupon Guy: the Honeymoon's Over!

Posted in: Uncategorized  //  Comments (11)

Dear Krazies,

Okay, I think the honeymoon is almost over. While I am committed to the couponing relationship, I will admit some of the excitement seems to be wearing off. Where I used to throw myself into the activity without restraint, I seem to be approaching things more methodically – almost clinically. I came this close (fingers about 1/2″ apart) to not going shopping this evening with the excuse I had a headache. But then I pulled up my man-bra straps, straightened my wig, and entered the store, coupons in hand, and made the most of the evening as best I could. It was not Albertson’s fault I was having a bad day.

My purchases this evening:

Conagra $25 get $10 Catalina Sale:
Pork & Beans @ .50 a can (went over minimum required purchase by one can)
Canned Tomatoes @ $1.00 a can
Egg Beaters @ $2.00 a carton
Manwich @ $1.00 a can

This rang up at $25.50 pretax before $2.00 worth of coupons for the Egg Beaters for a total after tax of $25.03. The receipt showed a Savings of $32.02. Then 2 Catalinas printed for a total of $10 OYNSO.

Albertson’s $10 get $4 Off Sale:
Cheerios @ $2.00 a box (had a coupon but forgot to use it)
Ritz Crackers @ $2.00 a box
Nabisco Crackers @ $2.00 a box
B.C. Muffin Mix @ $2.50 a box (had coupons)
B.C. Cookie Mix @ $1.67 a bag (had coupons but forgot to use some of them)
Fiber One Cereal Bars @ $2.50 box (had coupons)
Grey Poupon Mustard @ $2.50 a jar

This initially rang up at a little over $70.00 and deducted $28.00 with the promo. I had a $5.00 off a $30.00 purchase Albertson’s coupon, $4.60 in other coupons, the $10.00 Catalina from the first purchase, and paid $24.45. The receipt showed a Savings of $101.83.

When I got home, I discovered I forgot to give the cashier additional coupons worth $2.20. So, the real purchase should have been $22.25 with a Savings of $104.03. If I had taken the time to locate more coupons I could have done better. My fault for not being “in the mood” this evening – I was distracted. Maybe I am suffering from PMS (Pre-Manstral Syndrome). I believe coupons are laced with estrogen.

I think I over-prepared today by working too hard on my list, subtotalling prices with my calculator, grouping the purchases on the list and in the cart to make the process easier for the cashier, verifying totals on the monitor before finalizing the transaction. Maybe I just expected too much from all my preparations. I should just let myself “be ready” for the moment and go with the flow. Take one day at a time. Be satisfied with baby steps. It’s the little things that count. And I should stop spouting stale platitudes.

Tonight I’ll curl up in front of the TV with some ice cream and wonder why I am putting on pounds and inches in all the wrong places. Hey, that sounds like a country song. Maybe I’ll listen to the radio instead. Or mix up a batch of cookie dough and eat it with my ice cream. Or watch Beaches on DVD. Or The Princess Bride.

I am not sure how most of you deal with your “mood issues” with a demanding spouse and children to tend to. I at least can enjoy my misery alone and in peace in my Fortress of Solitude with a sad/funny movie. Now I need to find my Industrial Strength Midol caplets to sprinkle on my bowl of cookie dough ice cream.

La Tapatia Eagle Restaurant Review: 4.3 out of 5 Stars

Posted in: Uncategorized  //  Comments (4)

1225 E. Winding Creek Drive 130
Eagle, ID 83616
938-6207
La Tapatia Eagle was a pleasure to review. The service was excellent as was the authentic mexican food. The restaurant is beautiful and spacious and remained busy the whole evening, proving that, though it is new, it is already a hit with the locals!
Atmosphere: 4 Stars The decor and colors chosen for this new restaurant were bright and fresh with an expected mexican flair. The restaurant features beautiful decorative high ceilings and light fixtures. You can choose to be seated at a table, or opt for a cozy booth, as we did.

Family Friendly: 4 Stars La Tapatia offers a children’s menu, and has booster seats and high chairs available upon request. We saw several families there while we visited, and they seemed to be well-cared for and happy. I would take my small children to this restaurant.

Service: 5 stars From the moment we entered the door, we were greeted with smiles from the hostess and servers. We were seated and brought drinks immediately, and then left to peruse the menu while we waited for our server, Karen. Karen was extremely friendly and accommodating, and made wonderful suggestions on the menu–it was obvious she knew it well and had personally tried the dishes she suggested to us. Our drinks were always filled, and they were excellent at anticipating our needs without making us feel that they were “hovering.”

Food: 4 Stars We sampled a number of things that evening, but my favorite by far was the Botana De Carnitas appetizer. This dish consisted of chunks of super-tender and perfectly-spiced pork, sauteed with onions and jalapenos and served with warm flour tortillas. I absolutely loved it, and will probably get the entree portion next time I visit, just so I can have more!

Price: 4 Stars Entrees ranged from about $9.95-$14.50 and were well-worth the price for authentic, homemade, Mexican Cuisine.

Overall: 4.3 Stars We all agreed that this was a restaurant well-worth returning to, and one of the more creative and authentic Mexican restaurants serving the Boise area. I can give it my full recommendation.

Sunday Coupon Insert Preview 4/26

Posted in: Coupon Preview  //  Comments (1)
4/26 Hey everybody. I’m so bummed that our area got only ONE of these coupons as I’d listed. As I said, they are available to buy online. I don’t know if I’ll continue to do the coupon preview when there is such wide variance between regions.
Here are some good ones that we got this morning in Idaho:
$1/1 Juicy Juice Brain Development or immunity
$1/1 Pace specialty Salsa
Lots of Lysol
$0.75 off skintamate shave gel (just too late! Wags RR ended yesterday)
$1/1 Johnsons baby product
$1/1 Desitin

Here’s the highlights from the preview I’m seeing. Cross your fingers that we get most of these in our inserts tomorrow. And as always, if we don’t someone else did and they’ll be available to buy online.

$2/1 Pace Specialty salsa. Get it for free (and legitimately, I might ad. . . wink wink) when KMart doubles$0.75/1 Scott’s Extra Soft bath tissue 4-pack or larger
(If you want free TP, go buy some of the $1/1 coupons on Ebay: 20 of them for $3 shipped. Scotts Extra Soft 4 packs are $1.00 regular price at many Albies locations. Email KCL if you’ve got your coupons and can’t find a location that sells them for $1 and we’ll point you in the right direction)
$4.00/1 Schick Intuition and another $4/1 for Quattro as well$2.00/1 Act total care 33 oz or larger (makes a great one when KMart doubles)
Buy one Get on free Baskin Robbins Sundaes! Sign me up and “yes, I want whipped cream, nuts AND a cherry!”
We’ll post to remind you, but this Wednesday from 5-10:00 PM is .31 cent scoop night at B&R!
$1/1 Bandaid (excludes trial size)

California Pizza Kitchen– Print it 6 TIMES– NOW!!

Posted in: Uncategorized  //  Comments (5)
Don’t know if this is a glitch or if California Pizza Kitchen really wants us to buy their pizza. Right now on the coupons.com bar under our tabs– if you click “see all coupons” you can click to select 3 different $2.00/1 California Pizza Kitchen coupons. And you can print each of them twice! Hurry before they run out of prints!
The coupon is for a 12″ rising crust pizza- not compatible with the Albies sale this week, but still a great coupon, especially because they don’t expire til July 30th!

Walgreens Weekly Deals 4/26-5/2

Posted in: Walgreens  //  Comments (5)
Rest In Peace: Easy Saver Rebate

Here Lies ESR….

April 25th is the last day for Walgreen’s Easy Saver Rebate Program.
I have been assured by Walgreens that they are getting rid of the Rebates in exchange for more Register Rewards. Which I actually prefer. And some people are reporting that there will still be rebates, just no catalog. I guess we will wait and see! Scroll down for all the Krazy Deals that Start Sunday.

Coupon Virgins- Don’t forget:

ESR: Easy Saver Rebate
IVC: Instant Value Coupon
RR: Register Rewards (like a Catalina)

- You can’t use a RR on the same product you got it from. For example- this week if you buy the Ecotrin Tabs and a RR prints, you can’t buy another Ecotrin, use the RR, and have a new Register Reward print. You can however Use the Ecotrin RR to buy the Suave Hair Care and vice versa. You could do multiple transactions with those 2 products and just swap RR’s.

- Also, remember you have to have more products than manufacturer coupons, including Register Rewards. If you are buying Mitchum Deodorant and using a manufacturer coupon and a RR it won’t let you unless you add a filler item (like a cheap pencil or piece of candy!)

-Here is what we have found is the best order to hand the cashier your coupons (if you have a different order that work better- let us know…) This way will allow for any possible overage! 1.Manufacturer Coupons, 2. IVCs (instant value coupons- from the booklet by the front doors), 3. Walgreens Ad Coupons, 4. Register Rewards
