leapfrogThis is the greatest toy!  It’s great for kids and it can provide some adult fun too.  The little feet can be set to say letter names or make letter sounds.  Kids love it and when adults try to spell a dirty word, the prudent caterpillar giggles!  Hours of fun for all ages (wink wink!)  I realize I’m showing my immaturity here, but seriously it’s funny!

Beginning tomorrow 11/13 Toys R Us will have a Doorbuster ad valid only Friday 3PM-12AM, and Sat 7AM-1PM with this little guy priced at only $10.49.  Take your ad to Target and have them price match the item and do this deal:

    LeapFrog Alphabet Pal $10.49
$10.00/1 LeapFrog Alphabet Pal, Target Coupon
    Final Price: $0.49

First of all, as with most things at Target- This will probably be a YMMV situation.  I think it should work, but Target may say that since it is a doorbuster- that they don’t want to honor it… but I think it’s totally worth a shot!  The only problem that could arise, is that Target’s price matching policy excludes Limited Quantity Items, meaning items listed with a limit. So, if the TRU ad says Limit 1, Target may decide not to price match. Also, you will need to shop during the times specified on the Toys R Us ad.  If you try it out, Let us know how you do!

    Thanks SlickDeals and MoJo Savings!

Sharon- You must have been leaving a comment as I was deleting that post. (Did you notice that Joanie and I posted at almost the same time- about the same sale!?!) :)

Anyways, this SHOULD work at Walmart. I have never had a problem using a coupon on an item I price matched- but some KCLS have reported problems… Another YMMV!

My Walmart is a total pain about using competitors coupons. The manager actually told me that “store coupons” refers to coupons issued by Walmart. haha, what Walmart coupons? I don’t even bother with them anymore.

Glad your store is Q friendly.

I called Target yesterday and asked if they would take a printed ad off the internet to match an ad and (surprise) they said no. It has to be the actual print ad, and the whole thing, not just the page you are matching. Any more rules, Target?

Jessica, according to Targets online price matching policy, you have to bring in the entire printed ad to get price match. It can’t be printed from the computer or viewing the actual ad from an electronic device.

I went to the Eagle/Chinden Target and they would not price match. I even had my price-matching policy with me and they would not do it. They had a different policy that they said they just printed off from the internet and it says you can’t price match “timed events.” They had no problem using the coupon and price matching but the price matching has to be a weekly ad not a 2 day sale with specific times and such.

I live in California and this is how things went for me today…I went into my Target with the printed ad. They started out with an attitude telling me 1.No we do not price match DOOR BUSTER ads. 2.Even if we did, you have to have all 6 pages of the ad printed off, not just one page. 3.She then proceeded to tell me, “but we price match everything else, just not percentages off, and not buy one get one free.” ANY OTHER STIPULATIONS???? Oh well…thanks for the great ideas!!!

I told her they always PM & then take off the coupon. She finally did it. .52 cents. There were only 2 & the lady behind me had the other one.

Well, it doesn’t work here in El Paso. I called the manager of the Target nearest me and she promised it would work, even on a doorbuster but after I headed over there they were out of stock. They were really nice though and found me a store on the other side of town that had 3 in stock. Apparently, out of the like 6 Targets in this city only one had it in stock. Anyway, once I got there, the manager at the other store showed me the policy that said they wouldn’t match doorbusters… We got into a “discussion” about the policy posted online versus the policy they have at the store and I’m pretty fed up with Target now.

Has anyone had any luck at Wal-Mart? I’m considering heading over there in the morning, but I’ve wasted so much time chasing this deal already that I don’t know if I’m up to it…

Reporting back from southwest MO. The Target here had zero Monsters, Inc. and one lonely package of 40 refill wipes priced at 1.47. zero alphabet pals, and Ocean spray was only on closeout for the sugar free kind. BUT I did get UP Blue Ray for 9.99 (after coupon and their sale price of 19.99)AND the pictureka flipper for $5! I price matched the game from Kmart, and used a target coupon and a regular coupon. I paid 16.01 for the movie, and the game! My husband tried to price match the movies at customer service, but they said that was a “bundle” and they wouldn’t do it. There are signs all over the store about the price matching, and how they are “glad” (yeah right) to price match any identical item. One thing I discovered was cashiers will price match (no manager needed, and no register beeps!). If they had the movies in stock, I would have just done that. The guy was super nice, and very kind, unlike the customer service woman. On top of that, Toys R us was out of most of the sale preschool games for the 6th straight day.

Got 3 today in Ottumwa, Iowa with a printed copy of the ad from online. She said we should have the actual printed ad from the paper, but I explained that I live in a small town where we don’t get the toys r us ads. She then price matched and let me use the coupons. 3 of the leapfrog alphabets for $1.47 total, plus 8 packs of wipes for free. Also got the Nivea lotion/lip balm deal where I bought 3 lipbalms and one lotion, and only had to pay for one lip balm — the rest for free. Register also generated a catalina for $5 off a $75 purchase.

I’m in Cincinnati, Ohio, but the Target here would not price match because they said they only do it on “whole week” ads, not 2-day ads. I called after I got home and they said they’d just got that message today! (I had tried to ask for where the exclusion was in their policy)- She said it isn’t considered “current” since they don’t get any prior notice of the sale like they do the weeklong. Still, not “current”?? FRUSTRATING!!

I’m in Northern California and this did not work for me! I was also told that they would not price match door busters, two day sales, etc. I was able to get Monsters Inc. and Up @ $8.98 for both because Up was $19.99 and Monsters Inc. ws $16.99. But another Target had Monsters Inc. priced at $26.99. So Targets in the same town have different prices on things. I took my receipt to another Target store and they would not price match my receipt or a price from a different Target store. That is so stupid and I think I’m going to complain on a survey or e-mail to corporate. They should price match their own stores. I’m so frustrated at these ignorant Target workers.
