Hallelujah Is all I have to say!

Go HERE to print the newest version of Target’s Official Price Matching Policy.  It is the same policy but it’s rewritten and it addresses a few issues we have all been having problems with! Thank You Corporate Target!

    _____________________________________

Here is the part that got me most excited:

Can I use coupons when price matching?

Target does not match coupon-required offers but guests can use Manufacturer or Target coupons when requesting a price match. Target coupon policy: Target accepts one manufacturer coupon and one Target coupon for the same item (unless prohibited).

    _____________________________________

PLEASE print at least one of these to keep in your binder. I would suggest printing a few in case you want to leave one with a checker who wasn’t aware of their policy.

Also PLEASE keep Target’s Customer Service Number (800) 440-0680 in your phone.  Do not be afraid to ask your checker to call corporate and double check what they are telling you. Very often, you know more about their coupon policy and the Corporate Office is great about setting their checkers straight.

Thanks Deal Seeking Mom for the new link!

Speaking of updated coupon policies, keep an eye out for an update to Walmart’s here shortly.

Yesterday, I called ahead to see if they’d price match Fred Meyer’s BOGO Mr. Potato Heads and they said yes.

Now, before you get too excited, no, they are not price matching BOGO ad prices now. The person who answered the phone was wrong. Since I’d called ahead, the manager did tell the cashier to sell me them at 50% off, which also allowed me to use coupons.

But, point being, when the manager was called over, she apologized for the misinformation and told me that they’d just received a whole new coupon policy which had a lot more allowances and made things better for the customer. Since it was new, they were trying to learn all the new rules. They will price match BOGO coupons, but not BOGO ads. I tried to get a copy, but she said they didn’t have a copier. =/

I was able to price match the leap frog toy at my Target today. The customer service lady didn’t even think twice about it and it was after 1pm which is when the Toys R Us deal ended.

I was able to price match alphabet pal in ohio, but when I went to another store looking for potato head santas, I overheard Managers (and what looked to be like a GM or district mgr) talking about the price match/coupons and how they didn’t feel it was right .. so I’m thinkthing the policy might change again … bummer …

And that’s part of the problem: GMs, DMs and supervisors trying to interject their opinion as policy. Corporate sets the coupon policies and the stores aren’t allowed to deviate from what corporate says. Of course, this doesn’t keep us from having to call that 800 number over and over in the store because the store is arguing…again.

I don’t have a problem with Target’s coupon policy. I just don’t like feeling like you have to pull teeth just to get them to follow their own policy.
