Merry Christmas, Get Off the Computer!

From our families to yours, our sincerest best wishes for a Merry Christmas!   But seriously, what are you doing on the computer?  It’s Christmas Eve for Heavens sake!  I think it’s time we sat down and had a talk.  First, we want you to know that we love you very much & appreciate your patronage on our blog.  But, we’ve been thinking a lot about this and now that you’re here– on Christmas Eve, it’s time we staged an intervention.  We’re worried you may be suffering from Coupon Addiction.  Now don’t get upset, please just listen while we share some of the symptoms.

  • The first time you saved over 50% on your grocery bill you felt a ‘coupon high’
  • Now that you’ve been couponing for awhile, your need increases to save even more money to achieve the same effect or feeling.
  • You think it’s normal to have grocery shopped at more than three stores in one day.
  • You think buying 40 boxes of cereal at a time is “conservative”.
  • You have tried but failed to stop couponing.
  • You’ve laid awake at night planning your coupon trips and you’ve dreamed about coupons.
  • You’re in Denial:  You make excuses saying that you coupon for the money you save & because it’s fun.  Reality Check; you’re not just a social couponer anymore.
  • You spent over an hour clipping paper this month, and haven’t made a single snowflake.

Answering yes to three or more of the above symptoms during a 12 month period may show that you have an addiction.

Hey wait a minute; I think I may be addicted too.  Oh no!  What will I do?  I don’t think I can quit!  I don’t have that kind of commitment; I’d relapse for sure.  And they say there is no cure for an addiction.  Oh well, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em!  See you in the shopping aisles!

But seriously, snuggle up with your family these next couple days.  We’ll see you soon, but get out of here til after Christmas!

LOL this Christmas Eve morning. I especially like the clip art but no snowflake comment.
You should add this to your list of symptoms:
If you check all of your bookmarked frugal blogs before anything else when you log on ~you have an addiction.
Thanks for your tremendous work, I enjoy reading you every day. Have a Merry Christmas and can’t wait until you return.

My husband teases me all the time about being addicted to coupons. I can think of a lot worse to be addicted to. I check your blog two ta three times a day. Thank you for always being there when I need a fix. Merry Christmas to you & your family.

Haha :) Definitely have had those coupon dreams before. It’s not so bad if I just plan out/write down what I’m going to do before bed, otherwise my brain keeps trying to figure out scenarios. I enjoyed the no-coupon week too.
    Merry Christmas!

Thanks to you guys and your site, I saved a ton of money for christmas! When I read you blog I was releaved that I wasnt the only one. I am new to this whole coupon thing. I used to clip and then I stopped because the dollar tree was cheaper. Just wasnt doing it right. My mom told me I could open my own store…lol. I did and it is my own store and I dont have to leave the house. She also told me she used to clip coupons when we were young but wasnt “krazy” like me. One day I was in walgreens and my mom tapped me on the shoulder, she said when she heard the word coupon she had a feeling it was me. Then i pointed to the lady and front of her. “shes doing it too” I told her. the lady had a binder and a hand full of coupons. anyway. keep up with the great ideas. Merry Christmas.

It has been nice to have a break this month! I took the entire month off from couponing! My stockpile is so large I could do this! I havent even made a dent in it. It has been great! I was able to focus on my family this holiday season. We have done crafts, baked, looked at Christmas lights, ect. Although it hasnt kept me off the blogs. :) It has been nice to have a break from couponing but I have had withdrawls.
I am ready come the first of the year to jump back in. Great post! I love it! Merry Christmas All!
