Good luck! I just went to Safeway and tried to use coupons printed from Coupons.com, all with different UPC codes, obviously not re-copied, etc. and was told that they only accept one coupon per item(s). I was trying to use my “Save 1.00 on two Capri Sun 10-packs”. They would only let me use one coupon for the two boxes. I tried to use a second, obviously not copied coupon, and was told that I could not use it. They would give me the drinks at the sale price, but I could not use the coupon against it as I had used an identical coupon for the others. I explained that they were not duplicates and they explained that they would only take the one coupon, as was their policy, which went into affect 2 months ago. She even brought it out to show me. When I explained that I interpreted it to mean one coupon per the two items and the next coupon would be for two entirely different products, I was told I was wrong. They said they weren’t getting reimbursed for the multiple coupon so, therefore, they were not taking them. I told them I had done the same thing last week and they informed that the checker did not know what they were doing and could have been fired. There were three of them arguing with me and the only open register. I backed down and asked them to return the items that I would come purchase them tomorrow. That’s when the manager said that was against policy because the sale items were “per household”, even though the capri sun didn’t have a limit on how many I could buy. By then she was just mad I was making a scene.
What I’m trying to say is, if you print your multiple coupons, like Coupon.com lets you, they will only let you buy two at the 1.00 sale price and only take one coupon, thus you only get the two free. According to their policy you would not be able to use more than the one coupon.com coupon, the others would just be at the sale price of 1.00. Good luck. I’m going to keep trying, and hope for a checker who doesn’t know the policy.

    Hello-

For the lunchable deals, are you able to use a $.75 coupon on the “free” lunchable?

Marsha, I had the same experience on a cereal deal a week or two back. Since then I just stayed away from Vons, too much trouble when my Ralphs has such good CS.

  • Lacie

My Safeway had issues with the Printable coupons awhile back and I was told they did not accept them. Thanks to this website, I now carry the Safeway coupon policy with me wherever I go. I would fight that, because I didn’t see that anywhere in their official policy. I just got eight deodorants for free at Safeway about an hour ago. :)

  • JJ

Have trouble at Safeway…speed dial corporate! Seriously, they can’t figure out their policy so they make it up with “memos” and emails…just get the straight policy from corporate and stand up!!

  • Ashley

I believe the Lunchables Lunch Combination Subs are not on sale. Online they are actually 4.19 each…..way more that the original price of the regular lunchables to begin with!

  • Linda

The Lunchable Subs are on sale at Fred Meyer 2 for $5

  • Sarah

What zipcode for Coupons.com? Can’t find them with mine.

    • Marie

      use zip code 90210

How is it that you can print 8 coupons with only 1 computer?

    • Heather

because each coupon is for 2 products. You can print 2 coupons from coupons.com and 2 coupons from smartsource. that means 4 coupons which means 8 deodorants. make sense?

  • http://safeway.com Kelly

I was reading the Safeway coupon policy and it said that you can only use a $2 coupon off on products $5 or more. How can I get the free deodorants with my coupons if their policy reads this? Please help!

    • Joanie

Kelly, Em answered your question beautifully. The Safeway Coupon Policy is a misdirected attempt to prevent coupon fraud.

But the regular price for this deodorant is $2.49 and you’re coupon will deduct $1.00 per item. Since that doesn’t exceed 50% of the item’s value, you should be fine. (That is, if your store understands this.) Good Luck to you! Hope it works out!

  • Marie

Don’t forget to Add the $2/2 Right Guard digital coupon onto your Grocery Card, on the Safeway site for a $2 MM.

Kelly-I believe it has to be 5.00 before sale price. So in your case, 5. for both items before sale price. So you’re probably fine as long as the deoderant is usually 2.50 or more. I could be wrong, someone correct me if I am.

    • http://safeway.com Kelly

Yeah, I went this morning and they honored it! LOL. This was my first couponing experience and I saved 100%! I only had to pay for the sales tax which was .50. Im completely hooked from now on. Thanks for the speedy response though, Ill remember it for my next shopping trip.

      • Heather

YAY!!!!!! Glad to hear you are hooked! :)

  • Jessica

    Kelly,
I was just at safeway and got six deoderants (Free) and 8 lunchables (4 printable copons) for 2.00. My store dubles so I paid 50 cents for one and got one free 4x. You should have no problem!

  • Maryam

I just did this and got them all for free :)

  • Sonja

Ugh! I just got back from Safeway and the lady wouldn’t take my Right Guard coupons. She said it was more than half the value. I tried to explain to her that it wasn’t half the value of the regular price, just the sale price. She wouldn’t go for it and said she had the policy right there that said it. Sadly, I didn’t have my policy printed. So, I’ll print it and go back later this evening.

  • jenifer miller

i just went to safeway and checker said i can only use one computer printed coupon…..left store with 2 deoderants and two lunchable and halls cough drops for free but now i have to make seperate trips for my other 6 deoderants….this checker gives me such a hard time every time with my coupons but she was the only checker…errr

  • kat

i just came back from Vons and had no problem at all. The coupon did beep but the checker just rang it through.

  • Christa Ginsberg

I’m sorry. I’m confused. I went to my Safeway and they have the Rite Guard on sale for $2.49, like you said. With my $2/2 coupon, how do I get that for free? It wouldn’t be $1.49 each? Thank you for helping. I’d love to get in on this deal!

    • Heather

They are on sale for 10/$10.00 or $1.00 each through today.

Did you look at all the varieties?

  • Amy

Just did this today at Randalls – totally worked with no problems. I got the 8 Right Guards, 6 Lunchables (they are 1.99 AND BOGO), and the Trident Gum. It is $1.00 and I used the 75c off coupon. GREAT deal!! My checker was like – WOW!! Also – another tip I have learned – if the checker gives you trouble, check out in the pharmacy (only works if you just have a few items). They are just ready to get you out of there and rarely argue about coupons.

  • Christa Ginsberg

    Hi Heather,

Yeah. I looked at the varieties and they all seemed to say $2.49 so I wasn’t sure if this was an advertised or unadvertised sale and if it was unadvertised if there was a specific scent that might have been on sale or an instore coupon? I live in Northern California so I wasn’t sure if the sale varied depending on where you lived or not? Hmmmm…I think I might go back and take an even closer look?

  • lauren

worked for me,but it seemed like you had to buy 10 to get the $1.oo each price so i did.So i got 8 for free and paid $1.00 each for the other two.had no problems with the coupons except that the lady had to manually enter them.the same thing happened at Albertsons.this is my first time using printable coupons: why wouldnt mine scan?my husband thinks maybe its ’cause he bought cheeper paper and some paper works better than others.anyone know?

  • Joy

looks like you crazy coupon ladies hit up my safeway in bethesda, md. got there around 9:30 to find 1 left . So glad to see everyone is stocking up! I got my rain check :)

  • Suzy

Was it a particular kind of right guard that was $1? I looked at all of them and couldn’t find any at that price, even had them price checked.

  • Becky

I had to look hard to find the $1 right guard. It is the sport gel. Also, my Safeway said that they are going to be $1 through the 23rd.

  • mey

Thanx Marie for the additional heads up. And of course thank you krazy coupon lady. I was able to get 10 free right guard with no problems.

  • Shanna

I live in Texas. I went to our Randalls and this happened:
1st – they gave me grief and said that they couldn’t take more than 2 internet coupons. After I explained that I had more than one computer at home and that each coupon had it’s own barcode, they relented.
2nd – I got the same argument about the coupon being 100% of the value of the item. I explained, I argued, I smiled nicely, I explained some more – no luck. The Assistant Manager finally relented and let me use ONE coupon.
3rd – I had $0.40/1 internet coupons for the cookie mix that is on sale for $0.99 WYB4 – I had 4 coupons. They would not double the coupons, because the coupon said DO NOT DOUBLE. I again tried to explain that it was the store that was doubling, not the manufacturer, but I think at this point, she just was not going to give in.

I still got 2 deodorants and 4 bags of cookie mix for less than $2, but since I was hoping to get 8 deodorants and 4 cookie mixes for less than $1, I was not pleased.

It will take a VERY good CONFIRMED deal for me to take my business to Randalls. My Kroger always doubles (up to $0.50) and triples (up to $0.39), and has no problem taking my internet coupons.

  • Shanna

Oh, and to add to the above post, when I tried to explain that the value of the deodorant was the price before the “club card”, the Assistant Manager laughed and said – no one would buy it without the club card, so the sales price is the value…….my question – THE WHY EVEN HAVE A CLUB CARD!!!!!
