Megan – You can do it either way. I did separate transactions to take advantage of the catalinas. I bought five fruit snacks, which produced a $3.50 Catalina. Then I bought five more fruit snacks in a separate transaction, using the $3.50 catalina to help pay for those. Then I got another $3.50 catalina, which I used to help pay for my five cereals. Those cereals produced a $4 catalina, which I chose not to use on my Nut Clusters, and I still have.

  2. Matt says:

Melody – Mine came off as a bulk amount at the end, so it shows the fruit snacks as $2 each.

    • Melody says:

Thank you so much, that is a huge help! Helps us plan our transaction as our Safeway will NOT take IPs for over 50% of the line item cost. Thanks Matt!

  3. Leigh says:

I did not see the Kellog Cereal Catalina on the list for Safeway. Is this working? Has anyone tried it? Thanks!

  4. Megan says:

    Thanks Matt very helpful :)

  5. Audrie says:

Is anyone catching that the deal is for KELLOGS Raisin Bran and not POST? The coupon lists for Post, but according to the ad Post raisin brand is not participating. Am I missing something, or is that just an error?

    • charolyn says:

So are you saying the Safeway ad printed it wrong-or the scenario above?
There is also the current Post Catalina-to factor in also, any type over 10 oz. buy 4/$3 off, 5/$4.

  6. Tara says:

I bought five boxes of cereal and didn’t get the catalina.

  7. Alissa says:

I just went to safeway and bought 5 boxes of betty crocker fruitsnacks, I used 2 50cents off two coupons, AND there was a double up to 4 manufacture coupons in the ad. I payed $3 out of pocket and got a $3.50 cat.
    I got paid 50 cents! I’m so happy :)

  8. Megan says:

Hey Everyone. I went this morning and got five boxes of Kelloggs cereal. I bought 2 frosted flakes, 2 fruit loop, 1 apple jack. Rookie error! Because I guess FFflakes were not on the promo ( they were 3.49 b/coupons) Applejacks and Fruit Loops rang up 2:50 each. Still almost $1 a box after coupons. BUt I am going back to save the big bucks. This won’t count against my 20 limit will it? Has anyone figured out if it is 20 per transaction or 20 per promo? Thanks!

    • Matt says:

I think it’s 20 per transaction, and you can have multiple transactions. I just got back from Safeway during my lunch break. I brought 15 boxes of cereal (Froot Loops, Apple Jacks, and Corn Pops) to the checkout and did three transactions of five each, rolling the $4 catalina each time and using the blinkie coupons. I bought five boxes this morning and used that cat on the first transaction, so nothing out of pocket for 15 boxes of cereal. :)

  9. Brooke says:

Hey everyone–I was just reading the fine print on the back of the ad and it says, “All limits are per household, per day.” Hopefully that’s helpful!

  10. Jessica says:

Has anyone else had trouble using their internet printable coupons at Safeway? I was told today that you can only use one internet printable for an item, ever. So even though I can print off two Nature Valley Nut Cluster coupons from a website I can only use one. Ever. Not per transaction, not per day. She literally said, ever. I guess it is in their coupon policy which no one could find to show me. Anyone else have this problem or is it just my Safeway?

    • charolyn says:

I’m going to go tomorrow & have lots of the internet Nature Valley Nut Cluster coupons, so will let you know what happens.

      • charolyn says:

Used two internet printed nature valley granola bars and they didn’t say anything-even looked at them closely. What they told you doesn’t even make sense, as you can use many regular paper coupons!
