I know my store (Hawaii) is after all coupons- even ecoupons.

  • http://www.boriafamily.blogspot.com Nadia

I need toilet paper, does this work out to be cheaper then Costco?

  • sue

there is NO WAY my safeway will take 3 coupons for one product! (Downy, Bounce, or Gain fabric softner scenario.

  • brandi

I don’t get it…..do they not count coupons that are loaded on your card as manufacturer coupons? I can’t imagine that they’ll allow you to use more than one MQ on one product.

  • Leigh

You can use paper coupons with ecoupons at my Safeway with no problem.

  • http://beautifulfrugallife.blogspot.com/ Melody

All Safeways should take an in-ad store coupon and a manufacturer coupon for one item. The eCoupon will come off automatically when the cashier hits total, they don’t have to scan anything and nothing will beep or need to be pushed through. I have done this type of scenario several times.

  • Renee

The fine print on my Safeway ad says that the promo cannot be combined with any coupons, e-coupons, store coupons, or any other coupons. :-(

    • http://thekrazycouponlady.com/members/admin/ Krazy Coupon Lady

You sure? Does it say this:
Fine Print: Valid 4/14/10 – 4/20/10 with Club Card. Limit one per transaction. Coupon valid on your next shopping trip. Purchases exclude Safeway Store Coupons, Club Card Loaded Coupons, Manufacturer coupons and e-Coupons, Sales tax and online purchases. Not all participating products are Future Friendly, look for labeled P&G products.

This is only saying that your $25 purchase must be AFTER all coupons. It’s not saying that you can’t combine with other coupons.

If you look in your Safeway ad, you’ll see the “PGeSaver” emblem over many of the P&G products. Safeway is advocating that you use PG eCoupons on your order, so they’re clearly not telling you that you cannot combine coupons with the promo.

The fine print is always confusing, so don’t feel bad. But sometimes every KCL has to stop giving every benefit of the doubt over to the manufacturer. Make sure you understand what the fine print is really saying. (and you did a great job to leave your comment here!)

Okay – I’ve heard there are some real problems with this cat printing regardless of before/after coupons. At any rate, here’s how I interpret the “fine print”…. It says “purchases EXCLUDE Safeway Store coupons,” etc. Okay, I know I’ve seen this exact phrasing on other SW promos and I’ve always understood it to be saying: The threshold amount which will generate the cat does not include coupons – meaning, regardless of whether you apply coupons to this deal, as long as the initial purchase price rings up at $25 or more, the OYNO will print. If is was written as “the $25 purchase must include any deductions generated by coupons” THEN I would be worried because to INCLUDE it would mean $25 AFTER deductions. I honestly think this is just a cat print problem; I don’t read this the way everyone else seems to be….

I think you may be right Rebecca. All day I’ve read reports of no one getting this Cat regardless of coupons or no coupons. We just got in one report from “Becky” saying that she got her Catalina and used coupons to take her total under $25. I send Becky and email asking for details. Hopefully the glitch is fixed and the Catalinas will be printing tomorrow!

      • Beth

Joanie, since you tried the scenario yesterday, why don’t you call the catalina company and tell them you didn’t receive the cat. Then we will know if it was a print problem or our interpretation of the verbage.

      • Jessica

Rebecca – I am reading this the same way you are – if the purchase amount EXCLUDES coupons, that means it is not deducting the coupons to arrive at total purchase price. So it sounds like the $25 should be reached before coupons – which would be awesome!! I’ll be trying it tomorrow morning so we’ll see…

  • julie

I love the idea of this, but cant get any of the PGesaver coupons. My zip and every one around me keeps coming up no coupons available. Anyone have any advice on this? Thanks Julie

Go to PGeSaver, click “my profile”, click “Shopper Card(s)” and enter your card #. Even if you already have added your card when you signed up, you probably need to add it again. Hope that helps!

  • Rebecca

Different Rebecca here… I called Safeway corporate and was told that excludes coupons means you must spend $25 out of pocket. I told them it was faulty wording and she said she could submit a request to the marketing dept. Boo! :(

“I don’t get it…..do they not count coupons that are loaded on your card as manufacturer coupons? I can’t imagine that they’ll allow you to use more than one MQ on one product.” The awesome part is that CAN do this if you use eCoupons! Safeway will accept (as most stores do) the In Ad coupon with one (paper) Mnaufacturer Coupon. The eCoupons come off normally when the cashier hits Total. In fact, I have had FOUR eCoupons come off for just ONE product several times! It’s an awesome way to get an overage. I would be aware that 1) occasionally eCoupons do not deduct anything at the register 2) sometimes just one eCoupon is deducted 3)normally ALL eCoupons deduct. For example, last night I purchased two Starbucks Ice Cream, one @ $2.79 & one @ $3.50 for a total of $6.79. I used TWO MQ’s for .75/1 a Safeway Double Coupon (total deducted at this point=$2.50). I also had an eCoupon from last month loaded on my card (-$2) & an eCoupon from this month (-$2). My total for the ice cream was an overage of $0.21c which was applied to my transaction total. I hope this makes sense & helps you out ;)

    • http://findingbargainsinwa.blogspot.com/ Dana

OOPS! My total for the Starbucks Ice Cream should state $6.29 NOT $6.79. Sorry about that.

I went yesterday and spent 27.75 before coupons. Not sure what it was after e coupons, store coupons and mc, but did not receive my cat. The store said they were having problems with it printing. I left my name and said I should receive it within 1 week. I was going to go back today to do another transaction, but haven’t been able to get the esaver coupons loaded. I keep getting an error message on the p&G site. I can see the coupons and can click on them, but then a REDPLUM error message comes up saying to try again later. Bummer.
Any suggestions on what to do if I don’t get the cat?
