Is It Safe to Print Coupons from my Computer?

Posted in: Couponing Basics  //  Comments (28)

I am trying to print coupons from my computer, and many of the websites are asking me to download something or give out my personal information. Is this safe?

Many of the coupon website require that you download their software before you print coupons. This is a One Time Step and is completely safe. It’s just a few quick steps, and then you’ll be on to printing your coupons. Companies like coupons.com, smartsource.com and redplum.com require a software download. These companies are VERY legitimate and safe.

Manufacturers offer coupons to print from their websites. Many of these coupons are offered in exchange for you signing  up for an account on their site. I recommend creating a separate email account to use only when signing up for coupons and free samples. Many times you will receive follow-up emails from these companies, and I don’t like to fill my regular inbox with these offers.

You may notice sometimes they ask for your birth date. Usually, this is to insure that you are over 18, and it will not be used for any other purpose. If you are not comfortable with this, you can give a birth date that is similar to yours. For example my birthday is in June- but I often give 01/01/(my actual birth year).

You may also want to select “Autofill” on your browser. This way, when you are signing up for all the different coupons, you will save a little time because it will automatically fill out the forms. Once you do it the first time, the rest of the offers you sign up for will be a breeze!

How to start your coupon binder (this one’s for you, Kathie Lee)

Posted in: Couponing Basics  //  Comments (116)
A Krazy Coupon Lady executes her deals with precision each week.  Having a solid organizational strategy is a vital part of what we do!  If you want to build a coupon binder like the one I showed to Kathie Lee & Hoda on The Today Show, read on!

When I walk into the grocery store lugging my giant coupon binder on one hip and my toddler on the other, shoppers and cashiers know I mean business!  If you want to copy my binder and create one of your own, use this FREE Download of The Krazy Coupon Lady’s 36 Categories!

  • Organizing your coupons in a binder by category requires a few hours of time each week to clip and organize all your coupons.  I usually spend an hour to 90 minutes on a Sunday evening getting up to date on all my coupons.
  • This method makes preparing to shop quick and easy because your coupons are already clipped and organized!  Plus, when you find a clearance item in the store, it only takes 20 seconds to flip to the right category and find the coupon you need.
  • Use Baseball Card Holders to hold the clipped coupons (Find at Target, Walmart, eBay, etc).  Should be around $5 for 30 pages.  You’ll need around 60 pages.
  • Download this printable table of contents and categories you can print right from home!
If the thought of maintaining a binder makes your palms a little sweaty, don’t worry.  Start out by using a simple file.  We recommend organizing with the newest coupons in front and oldest in back, so you can keep track of which coupons are expiring sooner than others.

Want to know more about how to organize your coupons?  View Heather’s how-to video below!

$25 Restaurant Gift Card, Only $2— FOR REAL!

Posted in: Dining, Restaurant.com, Retail Therapy  //  Comments (16)

Enter Discount Code: AUTUMN at checkout
Offer valid through Sunday, 9/26
Stock up NOW on $25 Gift Certificates for only $2!!

Restaurant.com Weekly Promo Offer 300 x 250

Krazy Coupon Ladies, like everybody else, still need a night out every once in a while!  But you know we’re not paying full price at restaurants.  That’s just not how we roll!
We buy discounted restaurant gift certificates to save on date night!

  • Enter your zip code to find participating restaurants in your area.
  • Pay only $2 for a $25 Gift Certificate with discount code: AUTUMN!
  • Print the certificate immediately and use it as soon as today!
  • Certificates don’t expire for ONE YEAR.
  • Limit one certificate per table, excludes alcohol.

This is a LEGITIMATE offer!  The ONLY catch is that there is a minimum purchase required to use the gift certificate.  Usually the minimum purchase is $35, and is clearly shown on the Restaurant.com site.   So you’ll make sure your bill is just over $35, present your gift certificate to your server as payment and you’ll only owe $10.

Restaurants participate in the Restaurant.com gift certificates program in order to advertise for their business. Restaurant owners sacrifice on their price margin but in return get new customers. On the restaurant.com website, you’ll be asked to enter your zip code and it will pull up participating restaurants in your area. Then you will see a list of restaurants and a selection of gift card prices. A $25 gift card is regularly priced at $10 (so 80% off means you’ll pay only $2). The only catch is there is a minimum purchase amount: clearly listed under the gift card prices. Usually the customer must have a total initial bill of $35. Then you pay with your $25 gift card and your total could be as low as $10 plus gratuity for a $35 meal. It’s as simple as that. Don’ be a skeptic!

Help The Military Overseas: Send Your Expired Coupons!

Posted in: Uncategorized  //  Comments (14)

Since our Segment on the Today Show we’ve have received a ton of emails about our Expired Coupon Program! Here’s the deal- we collect all of your expired coupons and we mail them overseas to Military Bases where members of the US military can use the coupons for up to 6 months after the expiration date. Thanks for your support! Below you will find the details:

Pull out all your expired, clipped coupons,
DIVIDE THEM INTO FOOD & NON-FOOD,
put them in labeled baggies to separate,
and mail them to our new volunteer Carly!

More info on the Overseas Coupon Program below:

Did you know that overseas military members and their families can use expired coupons up to six months past their expiration? Families living in a far away country are often living on one income and money may be scarce. Let’s support our military by showing them some coupon love! KCL’s, we want to come together and pool our expired coupons to send to US military families in Japan!

Eligible Coupons:

  • COUPONS MUST BE CLIPPED AND SORTED, AS EXPLAINED BELOW.
  • Do NOT send coupons that are over 30 days expired.
  • Do NOT send store coupons.
  • ALL manufacturer coupons are eligible: printable, blinkies, peelies (if that’s the way you roll), tear pads in addition to newspaper coupons
  • They must be Manufacturer Coupons.

How do I send the Coupons?

Separate your clipped coupons into two categories: Food and Non-Food
Most bases have 2 stores. One is called the “Commissary” which is a grocery store and the other is the PX or BX which is a department store. We therefore ask you to sort the coupons into “food” and “non-food” bundles so that they can more easily be placed in the correct venue once they arrive at the base.

Label the Bundles

Try to use a baggie to separate your coupons instead of paper clips or rubber bands.

What’s Food & Non-Food?

Here’s the rule of thumb: It’s food if it can be eaten by humans, is usually eaten by humans, and is normally eaten to provide calories. For example, dog & cat food would be “Non-Food,” but Ensure or Slim-Fast would be “Food.” Vitamins would be non-food. Chewing Gum and Mints are food.

Is there a minimum donation?

No! Please send any coupons you may have. We only ask that you mail them only once a month. It will just be easier business this way!

NEW ADDRESS FOR MAILING COUPONS:

KCL Overseas Coupon Program
Carly Romano
11357 Visby Ave
Port Charlotte, FL 33981

Packages received with insufficient postage will be returned to sender.
