Look How Much I Saved — Until Target Charged Taxes on full Balance Before Coupons!!!
Posted in: Target // Comments (21)
I live in Southern California. I was so excited–until I came home and noticed Target charged me taxes on the before coupon balance of $25.16 instead of the after coupon balance of $6.16!!! They charged me $2.26 instead of the $0.55 cent tax on my after coupon balance. I researched this and it happens in other states too. I’m disappointed.
Heres how I “saved”
Purex Crystals 3 x $2.99 = $8.97
Secret Clinical Deodorant 4 x $2.49 = $9.96
Revlon Brow Groomer 1 x $3.99 = $3.99
Revlon Nail Clipper 1 x $2.24 = $2.24
Total = $25.16
Used the following coupons:
3 Purex Crystals Fabric Softener $2/1 coupons (3/13 RP)
4 Secret Clinical Strength Deoderant $2/1 coupons (2/27 P&G)
1 Revlon Manufacture $5/2 coupon from Target catalina from previous purchase
Total after coupons = $6.16
Taxes 9% on $25.16 = $2.26
Final Total = $8.42
Holy Walgreens Batman!

I ♥ Target
Bought 22 olay products (11 bottle of cleanser and 11 body wash) and paid only $ 16.98. I saved $ 99.57 after all coupons. Olay is one of my favorite brand and they are normally expensive but to pay $0.75 each after coupon, was an awesome deal
I used the following coupons:
$ 2 off cleanser target coupon
$3 off regenerist cleanser coupon
buy one cleanser get one free body wash.
The cleanser was $5.99 after target and manufacturer coupons, it was ringing $ 0.99. Then I bought olay body washes and got them for free because i bought cleanser. So, I ended up $16.98 including tax after buying 11 olay cleanser and 11 body wash! I ended up paying $0.77 for each items!

Thanks to the 15% discount for Friends and Family, I saved a bunch at Walgreens. I picked up 2 Gillette deodorants (reg $4.99/ea), 2 Gillette body washes (reg $4.99/ea), 2 Colgate Total Gum Defense toothpastes (2/$6), 4 Secret Clinical deodorants (clinical size – $2.99/ea), 4 packs of Wrigley 5 Gum ($.99/ea), 6 Snickers Eggs ($.29/ea) and a 80ct Huggies Big Pack ($19.99). Rang up to $68.34 w/tax. Discounts and coupons brought total to $21.20 – $15 in previous RR (from Almay deal earlier this month where I paid $.48 and they gave me $5 in RR) = $6.20 w/tax.
Then I got back $4 back in Colgate RR and $3 for trial size.
A “free” trip to Walgreens… I am not too disappointed.
An unexpected gift

So….a girl at work today walks up to me and hands me a Kroger Cat for $1.00 off next purchase. She says, “I’m not going to Kroger, and it expires today.”
So I think YEAH BUDDY, I have a French’s Mustard Q that expires also, and I can use the Cat and get the mustard for free. So I go to Kroger, and just for fun, I walk down the detergent aisle (I admit it, I have this really weird obsession with detergent, it’s a sickness)….and there on the shelf, right beside the Gain, some sweet, dear person had left a stack of 5 (FIVE!!) $3/1 Gain detergent/fabric softener…you know the ones…I’m telling you, I almost did a jig right there in Kroger.
They expire today also, but Wal-Mart is open 24 hours a day.
So I snatch up the Qs, and head to Wally World, where I purchase 5- 40 count Gain dryer sheets, the Great Day eggs ($1/1 Q), and 3 bags of the Homestyle Kraft Mac & Cheese (2 – .50c Qs, and 1 – .75c Q), for a grand total of .15c!!! (Total was $17.90 before coupons)
Not the biggest shopping trip, but totally unexpected. Thanks to the unknowing person who left money on the shelf at Kroger!!

I am new to the whole couponing thing so I’m sure over time I’ll get better. This was a big deal for me though– I took advantage of double coupon week up to $1.98 at Harris Teeter and was able to save over $68 in coupons and $30 in store card savings because a lot of items were on sale. That totals almost $100!! I am addicted and will continue learning and clipping coupons until I become a Krazy Coupon Lady!!
