Did you know that overseas military members can use expired coupons up to six months past their expiration dates?  Military families stationed overseas are often living on one income, and money can be scarce. Let’s support our military by showing them some coupon love!  The readers of TheKrazyCouponLady.com are coming together each month to send our unused and expired coupons overseas.  Please join us in sending in your coupons to one of our many adopted bases.

Please read all the details of The Krazy Coupon Lady’s Expired Coupon Program before you send off your coupons

Please sort your coupons into TWO categories, food and nonfood, and send them to our volunteer who will send them overseas:

Thank you everyone who has donated their coupons. I live overseas and it has helped me. I went to our Fleet and Family Readiness and they had a bucket of coupons that were donated. Living on one income for the next couples of years it will help my family out. Thank you again.

I live in RAF Lakenheath in England. I would love to start couponing at our commissary here but I dont know how to go about getting some of the donated coupons. :( Help!

  4. Cameo Kieffer says:

We are stationed in Germany and yes the coupons help. The airman and family readiness office has coupons that we can pick up from people mailing them to the base. There is also an area at the commissary for people to put coupons that they can’t use that someone else might be able to. One recommendation is don’t bother with the hair coloring and makeup- only items that are at the commissary qualify for the expired coupons. Also does anyone have any tips on sorting and using the coupons I just started doing this and I don’t know what the best system is. My email is cameo.kieffer@googlemail.com

  6. Cassie says:

Thanks for the information! Got a huge envelope full, and I am excited about splitting them up and sending them off to Amanda! We are Military also, one income and it does make it rough sometimes! Love this website and all of the helpful information :)

I would like to send coupons but I would prefer a pen pal type relationship so I can maybe sponsor a family and directly mail to them. This way I can learn their specific needs and the needs of their friends and send relevant coupons. If anyone is interested in being my overseas pal please email me. I’m a mom of 2 so I save kids coupons too. Email me at Fantaysah@yahoo.com

I have added this information to my blog to share with others. Thanks so much for doing this.

I use a clipless method to organize my coupons. I don’t have time to cut out the ones I don’t use and expire. Is there a way to send them in still without having to clip and organize them? I work full time and have a hectic schedule so this is just not an option for me but I’d like to help.

Can we send military coupons from CONUS bases??

  11. Jamie says:

I have a question, how do we sign up to get on the mailing list to receieve the coupons? We just moved overseas a couple weeks ago and I am having a hard time getting coupons. Could you email me and let me know?

My family just returned stateside from being stationed in Puerto Rico. Having coupons sent to me was wonderful, it really helps a lot. Now, I get to send mine there!!! Internet coupons are fine, catalinas are also fine as long as they say “manufacturer coupon” and have a mailing address for redemption. Coupons are good for six months after expiration. Hope this helps a little!

  13. Rachel says:

We live on a military base stateside and gather up our expired coupons for people here to mail straight to their friends overseas. I understand that internet coupons are okay, and store coupons are not (unless you have “military store” or “commissary” coupons, then you can send those, but you only get those shopping on base) because it’s only the commissary and BX or PX on base that accept the expired coupons. I know our friends overseas really appreciate them, and if I ever get stationed overseas, it will be a whole lot of fun to keep coupons in my binder an extra 6 months after the date! Thanks for all who contribute to this!

I had no idea about this! I just threw away all my April 30th coupons. I will mail them to you guys from now on! What a great program!!!!

Our local VFW and ladies Aux. have been sending coupons over for several years now. Everyone hoards them then we have a time we get them all cut and ship over large quanities. Check into your local or ask an Aux member. Good way to share plus cut cost on shipping.

Trying to send huge stacks (I get 4-8Sunday papers a week). Just wondering what’s the most economical way to send them (do you use flat rate boxes, big envelops, or any small boxes…)?

Great to hear from you military wifes to confirm this is a worthy effort to send expired coupons. My hubby in Iraq, 4th deployment. Me and our kids never stationed overseas.

Good to know they take printed coupons. Will start to save those. Now I know the only ones NOT to send is Target coupon and other store coupons (Catalinas), right?

  17. Donna says:

This is great !! I’m a little confused though. Do we need to package them to be forwarded including the postage. i,e An envelope with postage inside the envelope we send to the address givin? I’m single with no children and would really like somewhere to send all those baby/children related coupons.

  18. Yolanda says:

Do they help with the postage?? Because I’ve been sending out tons of packages that runs me $15-$20 I’m forced to stop it’s to costly. :( is there people that will pick them up?

  19. Kat says:

I have several coupons that I am collecting to send in from myself and friends. We would like to know if “store” coupons are acceptable? If so we will add them as well. We were so excited to hear that we could send our exspired coupons to families that could still use them. My friends and I HATE to throw away coupons, so this is perfect for us.

  20. Maria says:

Thank you for all of you who save and send expired coupons to overseas military instillations. I am a military spouse stationed on Guam and truly appreciate all and any coupons sent to us. It is with your help that we are also able to save money.

    • wendy gunter says:

Can you guys use the computer printed ones too? I’ll save and send those too if you can use them. I’m a Navy wife so I know how it is.

  21. Maryellen says:

This is such a great idea! I have been sending mine for a little while now and I am working on gathering them from friends to send all together. Thank for for taking the time to put these all together to forward on!

  22. Carlie says:

Do you send them to Grafenwoehr, Germany? We just got stationed here and need coupons badly :/ Thanks for any information you can provide :)

    • Kristy says:

Carlie, I can adopt your family if you like and send you what I get and you can use and pass along what’s left? Send me an email mom2thebest2@yahoo.com I have a whole stack in an envelope now and a lot of them aren’t even expired. :)

  23. Tlynn says:

I want to thank the military families for the job you do while your spouse is away! You are the glue that keeps your family together. It would be a great honor to send coupons that may make a difference for a very special family!!! Thanks for posting this and making more of us aware!

  24. Kristina says:

I want to thank you for posting this. I am a military mom living in the UK and it is through the kindness of people who are willing to send us coupons that I am able to save so much on groceries every month. It helps so much. We can use any coupons, including printed internet coupons. As long as it scans the commissary’s will accept them. Thanks so much for all the support from everyone. I am always jealous when the Sunday paper’s are posted b/c we have no way to get them lol.

  25. Jenny says:

I print a lot of internet coupons. Are those OK (as long as they’re manufacturer coupons)?

  26. Laura says:

Thank you so much for sharing this information!
I’ve been setting up coupon sharing in my church, and now I know what we’ll do with the leftovers!

  27. Daphne says:

Thanks for letting me know! I had just thrown out a whole bunch but from now on I’ll mail them off!

  28. peggy says:

I send mine to a friend of ours who is station in Italy. As a military wife we know we have to take care of one another so thank you for doing this!!!!

  29. Janae says:

I want to say thank you for this post, I am not overseas but I am a military wife (who just had our first baby while my husband is in Iraq on his first deployment) we are a one income family because I stay at home with my little one, and I have started to coupon this week was my first week. It is nice to know that people care about the military families, I will be sending all my expired coupons your way! Thank you again for caring and then sharing the information!
