Hey everyone, I do not have a CVS in my area, however, if you go to Rite Aid (and use your wellness card at checkout), they are offering buy one and get one Schick razor. I did this scenario and it worked!

    Buy 1 and get 1 = 8.99
    Use 2 $4.00/1 = 2 razors for 99 cents plus tax

  4. mscpm23 says:

In the example that you give for the Bayer Aspirin, can you use both coupons from SS? I thought you could only use one?

How do raincheck works? Someone help me please I’m new to this..I went to all 5 of my cvs and they don’t have any schick razor.

    • mcthrifty says:

Just go to the cashier and ask for a raincheck for the item. They will write you a slip for the sale price, make sure if there is an ECB for the item they write that down to. Tell them how many you want of the item, and if your coupon doesn’t expire by then just go back the following week and get the item when it is in stock. If there is an ECB for the item you are probably only limited to one or two of the item anyway. Make sure when you go back to get the item you hand over the raincheck/and your coupons with the item, not when you hand over all your other coupons. Sooo much easier then running from store to store and wasting time. They don’t expire at CVS either, so you can go get the item when you want, but get it before your coupons expire.

If you go to other stores read up on there policies because Walgreens does not give RR’s for rainchecks. CVS is probably the best as far as they go.

How do you get the extra bucks? I’ve never heard of it but i’d love to learn how to get them!

    • Anonymous says:

After you purchase the item the EB print off on the bottom of your receipt. You can then turn around and use them just like cash on any future purchase.

The razor at my store came up 8.99 Buy 1 get 1 50%. She had to manually ring in 8.00 and my ECB didn’t print and she had to manually do that as well. My question is… if it didn’t come up right will that count as my limit 1 or can I go get another one? Thank you for your help!

  18. Jerianne says:

Since I can only do the Schick Hydro deal once at CVS should I use my extra 2 coupons at Walgreens and spend $1 on each or should I hold out to see if I can get them free before they expire on 7-24-11. I just started couponing this week so I am not sure how often these type sales are repeated or if they are…

  19. I was able to get the Schick Razor, cartridges, and the Bayer but all of the CVS stores around me are CLEANED OUT on the Motrin! Thank goodness for rainchecks! I can still get the deal, and my extra bucks when they are back in stock next week!

Found an awesome deal on these at Walgreens without the hassel. $8.99 at Walgreens, Use $4 coupon and get $4 RR back… it’s like paying only .99 cents plus tax. Also, if you have the $4 coupon on Gillette razors from PG last Sunday, those are also a good deal at Walgreens. They are on sale for $9.89. Use the $4 coupon and get $5RR back. It’s like paying only .89 cents plus tax. =) You can even use the $4 RR from the Schick razors to lower the cost of the Gillete razor.

I’m new to this, I need a little help to understand. With the Schick Hydro 5, you use 2 manufactoring coupons for it. I thought CVS’s policy says you only may use 1 manufactoring coupon… Or can you because it doesn’t say you cannot double coupons anywhere on it. Someone else said something about ECB how will I know if my coupon is a ECB coupon? Please and Thank you

    • Anonymous says:

You can only use one manufacturer coupon per item. I list all the available coupons out there. Then you choose which ONE you have that makes the best deal. After you have purchased the product the EB will print off on the bottom of your receipt. They say “extra bucks” across the top of them. You then cut this part off of your receipt and use it just like cash towards any other purchase. Hope that helps!

      • Sarah says:

I wasn’t sure because the one in the SS paper says it is a Manu. Coupon and so is the one off the website :| I’m guessing the ones in the paper don’t count as a manu. coupon because it came in the paper? Sorry :’( confused.

I found a great deal on the Motrin!! My Walgreens has a manufacturer $2/1 any size Motrin PM in their pain reliever isle! You might want to check if your walgreens has it if you shop there…it makes it a $1 moneymaker :)

    Great deals

  36. Bgirlfraggle says:

Im brand new to this stuff… what the heck is a “extra buck” and cansomeone explain in english how this getting a free razor or product free works

    • Anonymous says:

At CVS they run promotions using Extra Bucks. After you buy the product involved in the promotion the EBs will print off on the bottom of your receipt. These act just like cash towards any future purchases. You just cut them off your receipt and hand them over at the register. Beware, they do have an expiration date.

So for the razor: It is on sale for $8.00. You will use your $4 off coupon. Bringing the total down to $4.00. This will be your out of pocket (OOP) expense. But after the transaction is complete the cashier will hand your receipt which will have a $4 EB on the bottom of it which you can use to pay for anything you want. Essentially making this razor free AFTER EBs.

  37. Pktscowles says:

  41. Emma S. says:

The past few weeks I was going to CVS around noon and the sale items were wiped out, I got tired of that and I went today 15 minutes after it opened and they were already sold out of the Zrytec and Schick razors! The woman in front of me had taken all that they had. I had asked her if she could spare one of each (that’s all I wanted) and she refused! I’m sick and tired of it! I shouldn’t have to be waking up early just so I can get one item of each sale!

    • Guest says:

Emma, how did the woman in front of you take all the Zyrtec and razors if there is a limit of 1 on the CVS card? You can’t have multiple cards.

      • Emma S. says:

She has 9 CVS cards, apparently, she has 9 family members in her household and CVS was okay with it. I have a card and so does my mom, so I don’t think taking two is excessive, but this woman is just shameless.

    • mcthrifty says:

If something is out I just get a raincheck and get it the following week. CVS will still give you the ECB for it. I don’t bother running back and forth to the store to see if they have it back in stock. That lady was rude!

She must have been up to something shady because your only limited to one and you can only get 1 ECB for it.

Love it! love it! love it! I am a dietitian with long history in dealing with food and non food products. This extreme couponing is right up my ally. In the three weeks since I have started I have saved $138.18 in coupons. My food budget for the months was reduced by $100.00 that’s 20%. I’m looking forward to 50%!!! Thanks for all the great tips, they are real and work. I love the faces of the people behind me in the check out line wondering how I got the inside deals and they will have to pay retail. I’m a big fan, LOVE IT.

  44. Lianne says:

I have a question on the Motrin with the limit of 3, if you buy 3 in one transaction do you get three $3 extra bucks or only one $3 extra bucks. Thanks for any help, like so many others on here I am new to this.

Wow to bad I dont have a printer :(

  46. Carla Miller says:

My local store (HEB) had some Bayer Advanced coupons for $1.50 off the other week, so people should keep a lookout if they don’t get the ones from the insert. There was also a $1.75 off coupon on CouponNetwork awhile back.

  47. Jessica C. says:

Hey guys! I just wanted to let you know, Walgreens has a thing on the medicine aisle where there are sometimes coupons in it. I got a $2/1 Motrin PM coupon from it last week I think. So it would be $1.00 moneymaker!

  48. Chris says:

Nothing is really ever “free.” You have to take into account the sales tax on these items.

    • LA says:

Some states don’t have sales tax, others charge tax on the post-coupon price. Taxes vary by where you are and what you’re buying. For some, things can be free. Too bad I live in state that charges almost 10% on the pre-coupon amount (except on food). Oh, the price I pay for beautiful weather! ;)

  49. Jennifer says:

please don’t think this is a stupid question, I’m pretty new to this, but if these are stock up prices and the limit is one, how do we stock up? I’m so confused.

    • LA says:

From Day 7 of the Beginner’s Guide: “Lastly, some deals limit how many you can purchase. So, for example, if toothpaste is free, but the store limits that you can only purchase one, we’ll still use the 6month+ stockup icon, simply to indicate that the price is as good as it gets”
I encourage you to read the KCL beginners guide as well as the store 101 sections (and their comments!) Good luck!

I have a question about using ECBs. Is there a coupon to product ratio requirement like Wags has? I have some ECBs that I want to use on the razor deal PLUS the man q. Will I have to use a filler to assure that the new ECB for the razor promo will print? TIA!

    • Anonymous says:

No. You can use as many coupons and EB as you want and you’ll never need any fillers! It makes shopping at CVS so much easier.

  54. Carwile_Ashley says:

Where it says limit 1, is that just per transaction?

    • Anonymous says:

No, limit one means you can only do this deal one time. CVS keeps track of your purchases through your extracare card. So the EB will only print out one time.

  63. Terri Mace says:

hey yall!! I am super new to all of this, I have a question about the ECB and like register rewards and what not. Are you able to use them immediately on the purchase? so say I buy one of the razors, how do i apply it to the purchase since I will have already paid for it? Sorry if this seems obvious, Iam just a little lost!! Thanks in advance for your help!!!

    • mimib says:

Terri, you will be able to use them on the NEXT purchase made. So if you buy 1 razor, with the $4 coupon, you will pay $4. A $4 ECB will print at the bottom of your reciept, and you can then use that $4 on another purchase.

      • Terri Mace says:

ok! thank you sooo much for clearing that part up for me!!! so you basically have to put in a little to get a little? Thanks again!! :)

        • Sarah says:

Yes, but once you put in, say, $10, you can keep “reusing” that $10 over and over again! As long as you do the CVS deals continuously, it is worth it!

I also split my transactions so I pay a little for the 1st transaction and my next 1 or 2 transactions end up being FREE!!! For example, I would buy 1 motrin pm, and one Bayer asprin, which would give me $4 extra bucks this week. On my next transaction (still standing at the register) I would purchase the schick hydro and instead of paying the $4 cash after coupon I would use my xtra bucks from my 1st transaction…. I hope this helps instead of confuses! The best way to figure it out is to plan a small shopping trip and jump in….. it made much more sense to me after I did my 1st transacion! GOOD LUCK

ATTN: THOSE WHO BOUGHT CREST PROHEALTH MOUTHWASH THIS WEEK FROM CVS.

I’m sure many of us cashed in on the free prohealth mouthwash this week from CVS, but before you use please read the online reviews of this product. I used it three times this week, and it has completely desensitized my tastebuds. I cannot taste anything! Also, I have noticed ugly, brown spots appearing on my teeth. I called my dentist and he specifically asked if I used this mouthwash because he has been getting many complaints, and said that I need to come in and get my teeth professionally whitened to get rid of the brown stains!

    Please use with caution!!

    • Karyncj says:

Which kind did you use? There are about 3 different types of Pro-Health mouth wash.

    • Fun Blonde says:

THANK YOU for pointing this out. I am sorry to hear what happened. I wish I had read your post before buying the mouthwash earlier. I guess I will donate it? You think they would test before release and recall a bad product.

    • DeDe says:

I used the purple kind and it works fine!!

    • BeckyC says:

My husband had the same thing happen with the mouthwash. It has caused brown stains on his teeth too. The dentist said it would probably come off, but he has not gone yet to see if a cleaning would take care of it or if they must be whitened.

    • I hope I don’t offend anyone – but this is a bit of an old story. This was first reported back in 2008. I find it hard to believe that a company as reputable as Crest would have a defective product on the market for over 3 years.

I have both flavors and I haven’t had any problems yet. Just thought I’d offer my opinion.

    Hi KCL,

First of all let me say I love you site and the deals. I’ve been a frugal advocate and couponing long before I knew about your site and I wish I would’ve found it sooner. These CVS finds are awesome. I have a blog of my own and was wondering what your policy is on sharing deals. I saw you have a Creative Commons License, do you just ask for attribution and a link back? I would love to share some of what I find here in addition to my own frugal hunting and point my readers over here as well.

    Thanks!
