I don’t see the $2 coupon when I click on the above link, is it not there anymore?

  2. Holly Mann says:

I don’t think that is the best deal. I saw it at my Target – but my store had Purina Friskies 3.15 lb bags marked down from $3.99 to $1.99 and then I had a $1 off coupon – making it 99¢! After paying, they printed out another $1 off coupon for me and I went back to buy more the next day. I will check today if this is still on sale! It also had a peelie on it for a free can of cat food with the purchase!

No gift card deal at my target. Waaaaaaaahhhh!

Publix has the 4 lb bag of Purina One Dog food for $7,59. B1GO so I used 2 $2.00 coupons for Purina Dog Chow and got them for 3.59 for 2 or $1.80. each. !

I am NOT advocating coupon fraud here, in any way, but I always take my coupons to a distracted college student cashier. You have to watch to make sure all the coupons scan in properly, but they don’t give you any lip. ;-)

Was excited to see this deal…went to my Target and they weren’t offering a price cut or a $5 gift card. Must be only at bigger Targets.

Me too! Take a look if you’re at Target, though- I have found these with $2.00 peelies on the bag!

Seriously? YAY!! I bought quite a few when they were first on sale at Kmart and our local grocery store HyVee, and have rolled over the $2 coupons that have been inside the salmon variety of the cat food. Perfect timing to stock up on a few more!! Thank you!! I’m excited about my Target trip this week, yay!

I just called my local Target, they told me the $5 gift card was not for the Beyond, it applied to any other Purina but not the Beyond. Where was the Target located that above picture was take at?

    • CbusCouponChic says:

I just bought 2 bags of the Beyond dog food this weekend. I don’t know if it’s a regional deal or not, but I did receive a gift card and I was able to use my $2.00 off coupon for each bag with no problem. There’s a $2.00 coupon in the bag as well :).

    • Dianna says:

I just bought the Beyond Dog food, it prompted the gift card without any problems. Im in NM.

Also, last time this deal was on, there was a $2/1 inside the bag of Beyond Dog food. I used those for this purchase, but was sad to see they werent in the bag again this time around.

      • Annette Pewitt says:

Dianna from NM, I have question for you. On Walgreens ads/coupons, it sometimes says Limit 3, except NM, what does that mean for you all from NM?

        • Dianna says:

LOL, we dont really know why either! I cant find a law that states anything about it…and other stores here put limits on quantities purchased. Walgreens just lets us buy any amount of any item… I have asked two separate managers about it…and they didnt even know it was printed on there….

  26. Lizzy says:

I just want to add that I did this a couple weeks ago ~~ had 4 $2.00 off coupons for 4 bags of food. Only 2 of the coupons came off because they ring up at 2 bags for $14.98 and then the gift card shows. I went back later and the customer service girl gave me crap about it and she didn’t have time to sort through my receipt to see if there were any other $2 that came off of another item. I did have 2 more that I hadn’t used so I said well I can give you two more if you can give me the money back as I wouldn’t have bought 4 if I didn’t have the coupons with me.
So, Just FYI, you need to watch their rebates and coupon items before you leave so you don’t have to go back!

    • Susan says:

sometimes the target coupons don’t show up as coupons but instead just subtract the coupon amout from the item price. For example: if you buy a bag of something that is regularly 3.99 and you have a $2 off target coupon, it will give you the price on your receipt as $1.99 instead of showing that it is 3.99- $2 coupon. That has happened to me many, many times. One time the cashier checked my receipt and told me to get a refund for the coupon that did not show up and i had to explain it to her. Luckily i am honest or the store would be out some money. Hopefully everyone is as honest.

  27. Cmebersohl says:

this was too confusing to even try to understand even after reading it 3 times…think I’ll pass…

    • Dianna says:

Buy 2 bags of Purina food at $7.49 each. ($14.98)
Use 2 coupons for $2 off each bag making them $5.49 each ($10.98)
If you buy nothing else, you will pay $10.98 + tax.
The register will prompt the cashier to give you back a $5 Target gift card.
This means you paid 5.98 for two bags of Purina or $2.99 each.

  28. Dfad says:

If you’re paying 10.98 OOP, it’s 10.98, not 2.99. Your posts are always misleading, no doubt you post it this way to make it seem like it’s a better deal.

    • Katie says:

Although you do have to pay 10.98 out of pocket for the cat food, getting the $5 gift card is like getting cash back…you have cash for your next purchase, so it’s truly like paying only 2.99 each for the bags of cat food.

I don’t think either of the KCLs are trying to come off as misleading with their posts. I find them very helpful! :)

    • Sheila M. says:

@Dfad. I don’t believe there is ever an intent to ‘mislead’ anyone on the KCL site. The oop is clearly labeled as “Pay $10.98″ When using coupons, the expectation is that you won’t be shopping just once, but rather continue shopping and eventually use that $5.00 gift card on a future purchase. The “Final Price” is understood as what that product cost after various forms of savings (rebates, CATs, RR, gift cards, coupons, etc.) The KCLs have been using this type of calculating for quite some time.

    • Its a little misleading until you read it. If you dont want to buy the item, don’t post, I only buy things are target and other stores unless they are FREE Or at least less than $5

    • Jillian says:

if you shop at target regularly, the gift card you get back is as good as cash. i don’t think it’s misleading at all, and the deal is just as good, unless you’re never going to walk into a target again.

  29. Diane Perez says:

oh! i have coupons for $2 off any purina product! :) i can get those for free!

  30. Liz Shaver says:

The $5/2 Purina cat care items Target Q I have specifies 6lb or larger for dry food. I thought the gift card deal did too. Is there no size restriction?

    • Diane Perez says:

the offer is without a coupon for a $5 gift card

      • Liz Shaver says:

Diane, I do realize this is without a coupon but I thought the gift card deal had a weight restriction as well (6 lbs or higher). I could be wrong, I was just asking :)

    • Lizzy says:

I originally had the $5 coupon off 3 and the cashier told me it was only 6 pounds so then she told me the gift card thing came up for 2 of them and I had three so they went and got me a 4th bag. However, I did have 4 $2 coupons with me and gave the 4th to the cashier, since she already had 3. But only 2 of them came off my receipt which I didn’t notice until I got home!
I went back later to get $4 back. I posted something on that before I saw your post.

      • Liz Shaver says:

Thanks Lizzy (and I meant $5/3Q like you said, not $5/2). I am sorry to hear about the coupon mishap, that is such a pain! Glad the GC deal ended up working out for you though. Sounds like a good deal. I might have to go check it out. Just this morning we were just talking about how much our cat eats. Seems like she eats more than our 60 lb dog! :)
