GREAT NEWS FROM THE CVS WORLD!

The CVS ExtraCare card just got better.  Instead of using it simply as a membership card, you now have the option of loading digital coupons right onto your card.

This “Send to Card” option gives customers the opportunity to select certain coupons that will load straight to their ExtraCare card and automatically deduct at the register, thus eliminating the need to print off paper coupons at home.   In order to take advantage of this new program, you must first sign up to receive ExtraCare emails.

CVS VP customer relationship management Melissa Studzinski said: “We encourage all of our cardholders to sign up for ExtraCare emails to take advantage of this new, easy way to save while shopping at CVS/pharmacy.”  We here at TheKrazyCouponLady.com agree!  Hurry on over to CVS.com and sign up for this simple way to save.  Plus, when you sign up now, you’ll receive a coupon for $4.00 off any $20.00 purchase!

Not sure where to get the coupons that you load onto your CVS card. HELP

  2. Anonymous says:

Not everyone is aware of this feature. So we just wanted to put it out there for whoever might be interested. Hopefully CVS will start making certain coupons available online….instead of just the $ off ones.

    • Shan says:

Well you’re right! Some might not be aware and we do want to spread the good news. Sorry for being so harsh.

People new to this feature might also want to know that when you click send to card, that dollar off coupon applies TO YOUR NEXT PURCHASE. So click or print wisely.

I was thinking the same thing. They send me an email everytime there is a new one for me to print. I’m thinking they recently have given us the option to send it to the card instead of printing.

I had a $5/30 online in my account yesterday, and today I got an email with a $5/25…does anyone know if I can use BOTH in the same transaction. So if I spend $30, can I use both $5 coupons??? TIA!

    • Christina says:

No. I think on the bottom of the slip it tells you that you can’t. You will have to use them in separate transactions or during your next visit.

      • Anonymous says:

Oh yes – if I would have read the whole thing I would have seen that….sorry, and thanks!! :)

CVS will also scan the coupon right on your phone! Last week I printed the wrong coupon and so I pulled the corrc t coupon up on my phone and voila! I love CVS.

  8. amber says:

if you print out the coupon you can use it for a 25$ total before the CVS card is scanned thus making your deal even better- but if you put the coupon on your card it will only take the 5$ off if you actually get up to 25$ from all the sale items. make sense?

Are you sure about that? I thought all CVS coupons were linked to your card, so therefore, you have to scan the card first. This is how I’ve always done it and they usually ask you to scan the card first anyway.

  10. I just paid $22.84 for an iPad 2 (64 GB) and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $674 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, CentHub.com

I sent mine to card . One printed at CVS red machine so I though I had 2. When I checked out it did not automatically deduct so I had to give them my printed coupon from machine. I think if it prints from the machine before checkout it wont automatically deduct. But possibly will automatically deduct if its not printed. I’ll try it on my next visit.

  13. Marie Burnett says:

That discount does NOT apply to items on sale.

    • Christina says:

As long as your total is above the amount, it doesn’t matter if it is regular, sale price or clearance. If I have a $5 off $25 coupon, all I need to do is buy $25 worth of merchandise, before tax and mfr coupons.

Last week i got a $5 off $25 and today they emailed $5 off of $30. It’s cool last week I bought about $80 and change and I only had to pay taxes. Of course I combined with ctrs, extra bucks, and coupons.

  17. Lisa says:

Just signed up and was emailed a $4 off of $20; had to print it which is great because I just noticed I have a $6ECB that expires in a few days… better go shopping.

  18. Christina says:

I’ve been getting these coupons for weeks now. They have all been X off XX or % off coupons. They aren’t like coupons you would load to your card at the grocery store. They have sent me an email notifying me of the coupon for my account and then I sign in online and print them out. You can send them to your card, but I prefer to have them in hand.

  19. Roni says:

I used this 2 weeks ago and the cashier and I were so impressed, I guess I was the first person he’s seen it from! haha

the coupon prints out from the red magic coupon machine. so it’s basically like printing it there and not wasting your own ink. I got a $5/$25 last week, printed at the red machine, and didn’t use it. (got a bunch of rain checks instead… sigh)

  23. TJ says:

I am SO UPSET with CVS! I honestly don’t even feel like shopping there anymore. I went there 2 weeks ago for my very first trip to try it out. Well, that transaction went fine. The 2nd transaction said there was a problem with my card, so I called. They said the card was bad and I informed them of my receipt #s and they were registering my purchases to a new card. The woman on the phone said just use my phone # at checkout. So I spoke with the store manager and explained what happened…he said the ecb’s should print out after I do a transaction well they didn’t!!! Now I have to call yet again. This store is such a waste of time. I am so so so irritated. I have not had to waste so much stinking time just trying to buy a few measly items from a store. Once I get that ebb and use it up CVS can kiss my……sunshine =)

    • Bebecoupons says:

Most ECB deals are limited to one per card, hence why your ECB didn’t print the 2nd time if you were doing the same transaction again. I learned that one the hard way. It’s not like Walgreens where you can keep rolling RRs. Your CVS card keeps track of your purchases and therefore limits their ECB deals to one. So if you try to do another purchase that gets the same ECB, it won’t print out.

I received my email 2day. I am going 2 use the $4 off on my spend $30 receive a $10 gas card deal this wk!!!!!!

  27. Guest says:

I don’t really shop at CVS. For the $4 off of $20, is that before or after coupons? I know it’s before at Rite Aid

  28. Danielle says:

I’ve been using this for a few weeks, its great! I had a % off total purchase coupon and $ off $$ coupon and they both came off automatically in the same transaction, it was awesome!

  29. Darcy says:

I love this feature and it has been working great for me! There has been a few inconsistencies with the expiration dates it lists, but when sent to my card, it prints at the red coupon machine. We did notice it does NOT print with the barcode, but my CVS has still taken it – I guess they just have to manually type in the coupon # or something. I have been getting more of these coupons in my email, too. Gotten two $4/$20 this week alone! And just used $5/$25 this past Sunday.

  30. Agnes says:

How do you load the coupons? I’m already a member but I don’t see any option to do so. Help please!

  31. Bertha says:

It will be my first time shoping at cvs next week and I just got the coupon that states 4 off a $20 purchase. Do i hand that coupon over before i start bringing the total down with my man. coupons?

  32. Kkubala7 says:

So what if I load a coupon on and then find a better paper coupon? Plus I am afraid of having the trouble with the $x off when you buy $x. Think I will wait til they can give us a policy, hard to plan a trip when you don’t know which rules apply.

  33. Sabrena says:

I received an email telling me about it. And the email had the $4 off $20 coupon. I could print it or load it to my card. I loaded it and plan to try it out tomorrow in the store.

    • Anonymous says:

Let us know how it works. It doens’t sound like to many people have been using this option. Seems like most people like to have the hard copy in their hands!

I got a question.. the extra bucks or whatever its called, they don’t get loaded on to the card right? i mean i was just there and it printed it off instead of putting on card.. i prefer it that way so i was wondering.. do they or are they going to start putting your reward thingy’s on the card.. im completly new to all this so was curious…

All the stuff I’ve read only mentioned coupons being loaded to your card. It never mentioned anywhere about EBs being put onto your card. So my best guess is that your EBs will still print off at the bottom of your receipt after your transaction is complete.

  36. WARNING! I learned this the hard way and just wanted to point out….this past week I chose to send the $5/$25 to my card…then it didn’t come off at the register! When the cashier looked it was because my manuf. coupons I handed over came off first and I had to get a manager over to manually enter it…he tried to argue with me that I needed to buy more stuff to reach $25! My original balance had been $40. I stood my ground about how an in-hand coupon can be handed over BEFORE other coupons and will not be sending any more coupons to the card!

I’ve has issues with card-loaded coupons at other places… so, no, I wouldn’t do it. If you have a coupon in hand, it’s alot easier to argue it’s existence… or use it as you need to in a certain order, etc.

    • Shan says:

Also if you choose “send to card” then the $4 off $20 or $5 off $30… etc coupon WILL BE APPLIED TO YOUR NEXT TRIP. That I don’t like. sometimes I’m only there at CVS to grab milk or free chocolate, then the loaded coupon will fail because I buy so little. It’s better to print it out so I can decide which transaction I want to use it on.

Sounds like CVS doesn’t quite have it all worked out yet. Thanks for sharing. Now people can be more aware of what they’ll be facing if they choose the send-to option.

    • Tdcole320 says:

i was afraid the same thing would happen. i had a $3 off 15 and i had $16 b4 coupons, then after coupons it was $4 and it didnt come off til the very end. neither the manager or clerk knew how it worked. but luckily after i had given up all the sudden the $3 came off.

    • stlmom says:

I tried to do this today. I spent $34 after manufacture coupons. I did not get the $5 off. The store employee and manager said that the coupons being sent to the card will not work until later this month. After returning back home I logged into CVS extra care account and looked at the coupon it will not allow me to print and it is no longer showing in my account under coupns added to card. I am going to call the customer service about it. I hope I will still be able to get the $5 off.

  38. Tara H. says:

I loaded my $5 off $30 purchase to my card and used it today. It automatically comes off if you spend over the amount. I asked to make sure it came off but it did. I also did not know I could use all my extra care bucks at one time, but I did. I had a total of $23 come off of my $49.99 blood pressure cuff this morning. Made it easier for me to take since I have to buy one about every 6 months for work. :)

  39. Jennifer Tyree says:

The coupon is only available to those who do not have an email on file with their card number….. Sucks, cuz I wont get that discount. I cannot wait to start loading coupons to it though…

But, so can we still use a manufacturer coupon with these loaded coupons? Whats the policy on that?

There are no current coupons associated with the Extra Care card at this time….so what is the hype all about? Perhaps this is only certain CVS stores?

    • Anonymous says:

I thought the same thing. The $4 off $20 is great……..But hopefully if they see how many people are intersted in this….coupons will come.

Are these loadable coupons like our Safeway Card? Where do I go to load the coupons? I am already an email member!

Does anyone know: say for instance you have a $5 ECB and a $3 ECB loaded to your card. On your next purchase if you purchase something for $6 will it only take off the $5 ecb or will they all be added together for one grand total? Any place I could find this info? Thank you

      • Christina says:

I think I saw someone say that the computer uses the one you load to your card first. Not 100% sure though.

They have been sending me emails to notify me of my coupon. Go to their site and log on. It should be under one of the tabs when you click on the extra care card link. There are different tabs that track you spending and one of them shows coupons available. You can print it or send it to your card, but I’ve heard that if you send it to card, you can’t print it as a back up in case it doesn’t work at the store. I just print mine.

    • Christina says:

True, but I’ve been getting emails from them since I signed up and almost every week they send me a coupon for X off XX. I just got one today for $4 off $20. Last week I think I got a 20% off total purchase.

      • Lucy says:

I agree I use to always get those promotions by email but it wasn’t until I got involved with the TKCL website that I actually try to go and get a deal! Because of the $4 off coupon I made $2.95 after taxes in CVS bucks today! I paid $10.04 OOP and got back $12.99 in EC! I love CVS plus it’s so much easier than WAGs!
