I am a Manager with AT&T and it is true. The company is e-mailing and contacting certain customers by text, so TECHNICALLY it is only supposed to be for customers that are contacted by AT&T; however, you can text the code above and receive the courtesy Roll Over Minutes. As far as the Messaging with Unlimited Mobile to Any Calling that is true as well. There is no scam, we do not sell your number, and it is not becuase we have crappy service, it is because we appreciate our customers and want to say thank you for their loyalty. If you have Unlimited Messaging whether for a single plan or family plan you can receive free calls to ANY cell phone in the counrty no matter what carrier for no additional cost, you just have to have your package updated. AT&T announces their new promotions by e-mail, text, TV Commercials, and the AT&T website. The best way to find out about new promtions though and have your bill analyzed to make sure you are recieving the best price possible, is to go into your local corporate store and have them perform a free bill analysis. Hope this helps!

Have you called them? What was the outcome with this? I’m a little hesitant to do this now.

YES!! They finally called me back today and figured the problem out! It is good and will take a little while to show on your account, my charge was a mistake on my billing, just so happened to come through at the same time, they charged for my hubbys new phone that was under contract. All is good, and legit :) just took 5 days to find the problem!

So my confirmation came in a text about 2 hours later saying that I CONFIRMED to allow ATT to charge my credit card $212.90…….I am PISSED!!!!

  7. Any idea if this deal works on Prepaid? I texted it and got a text back that said thanks and you will receive a confirmation message upon validation of this mobile account.

I’m also wondering about this. I also have prepaid, so I’m not sure if the minutes even can “rollover”. I tried it and got a confirmation saying they are going to validate my ph. #. All you can do is try. If it works, great! If it doesn’t you don’t lose anything by trying.

    • I was thinking the same thing, I really need some minutes. Have less than $25 on my phone right now.

    • i as well was wondering this to i went ahead and sent a text and they replied with….You will receive a conformation message upon validation of this mobile account….. I sure hope they do on pre-paid

To legally change your contract to a different plan you have to agree to it….This is not touching anything on your plan etc…. and if it did you can call them…AT@T has always changed any mistake they have ever done for me:)

Thanks KCL!!! I love free minutes!!!! :)

  9. Kate Fredrickson says:

Do they then sell your # to spammers? My husband is worried it’s some sort of scam.

  10. I did this, but never got back my confirmation message. How long does it take to confirm?

    • It is not a scam it is true i called AT&T they did send this out.

    • Julie Kinzey says:

I’m looking at my text from February and I signed up Feb 12 at 3:35pm and I got two confirmation messages… one at approx the same time (iPhone doesn’t show a new time stamp) and another at 3:52pm. So, to answer your question… last time it was w/in the hour.

Now, it did take a couple of billing cycles to show on my account….

  11. I called AT&T and they don’t know anything about this , beware

    • Lara James says:

I called too and yes it is true and yes you can use it on a business account; the rep didn’t know about thing about it either, until she went and asked. I think its a mistake on their part and when they figure out they basically said 1000 free minutes to each account, they will pull it.
I also received the confirmation text back.

    Very helpful, thank you .

  13. Melissa Wiles says:

Do you have to text from the account holders phone? I’m on a plan with my dad, and he’s the primary account holder. If I text from my phone would it still work?

Thanks so much for posting this!

So are you sure they don’t extend your contract or add another plan too your existing one? Just being cautious.

  15. Anonymous says:

So you do not get wrangled into anything else, like extending your plan or get something added to your current plan. Just plain free minutes? Ate you Sure?
    V-

    • I did this the first time they offered it too (it was AT&T’s way of thanking their customers for staying with them instead of leaving for Verizon when the new iPhone opened to Verizon). I found out about it through an e-mail they sent me. There are no strings, catches, etc just a random act of kindness from AT&T.

    • That’s what it looks like – After I texted it, I received a reply saying that I will receive a confirmation once the account has been validated.

  16. Anonymous says:

how would we find out of future deals like this? how does AT&T announce this stuff? Didn’t see anything on their website.

  17. Maryann says:

Are they going to keep texting you after you get the points? I don’t get many text messages and I don’t want to waste them on someone trying to sell me something

    • Julie Kinzey says:

No. I haven’t gotten one message from them. I just texted again (did it in February) and the previous message shows I signed up for the free additional minutes on February 12, 2011. (Yeah… I really should clean out my text box….)

  18. It worked! :D Thank you so much!

Also – AT&T is doing a free mobile to mobile deal now!!! Between that and this 1,000 minutes I’m loving AT&T right now!

Here is what was in my e-mail:

Thank you for this post. I took advantage of it last time, and those 1000 minutes come in handy!

This really did work? There wasn’t a catch with extending a contract or increasing your bill etc? I did it and now I am leary that I shouldn’t have as it could be a phishing scam or spam.
