Theraflu has  released some  new coupons just in time for cold and flu season.  I love this product and use it whenever I have a severe cold or flu.  We can get it for free/cheap several times during the flu season so I always stock up on extras for friends and loved ones who don’t use coupons.  Nothing like  some Theraflu, a box of free Kleenex and homemade soup to make someone feel better!  Stock up now and hope you don’t have to use it much and can just give it away! Here is a scenario at Walgreens:

TheraFlu Multi Symptom $5.00, On Sale thru 10/1

Is the $2.00 MFG coupon good for only Theraflu Multi Symptom severe cold? Because I’ve went to 5 walgreen in my area and I’m having a hard time finding just the Multi Symptom severe cold. Please help!!

  2. i purchased the lipton tea and the warming kind i used both a $3/2 & a $2/1 that came in the inserts (ss) making it $5/2 i presentd the $3/2 first then the $2/1 and it took it off and printed the 5RR making it totally free!

    • Did you buy 3 bottles? If you only bought two, can you explain how you were allowed to use 2 MQs on them? I thought it was only one MQ per product, meaning either the $3/2 or $2/1, not both if you were buying two. Sorry, I still consider myself new to this and I am just trying to understand how different scenarios work.

  3. The Theraflu + Lipton would not produce a RR for me either but the manager said because it’s a new product that it may not be in their system yet so she had to do a force print I guess either way I got my RR. I hope this helps.

  4. Lisa Pinkney says:

This is a great deal. Let me break it down….. They are on sale 2 for $10. Use 2 ($2.00 off coupons) that makes the price $6 for 2, then u will get $5 register reward back. the total then would b $1.00 for 2 boxes. making them 0.50 cents each.

  5. There is also a coupon in the Walgreens Coupon Booklet for a dollar off 2theraflus making the item free?? am I Wrong?

  6. Anonymous says:

I am looking at my Walgreens Sept25-Oct1 ad and it does not have the TheraFlu Multi Symptom register reward. It shows the TheraFlu on sale for 2/$10. Are Walgreens ads different in different states?

  7. I went to Walgreens and tried to use the $2/1, but according to the Walgreens in Lynnwood, the “Lipton” Theraflu is not part of that sale, so that coupon does not work. However, I did get lucky. Some of the other multi-symptom boxes had $3/2 peelies on them, so I still got them for $1 ea. :-)

Try at 3 different location with lipton and it didn’t print. returned the items every single time. had problem like this couple of weeks before with lysol and manager was giving me bul**** so called corporate and the next day on Saturday he called to see what was the problem and offer to give discount next time i go to wag. having any problem with managers just call corporate and watch the manager call you the next day.

  9. andria flinn says:

manager told me it didnt print because i used coupons which lowered the total to $6 so i got them anyway and wrote an email to corp and the manager wrote me and email sayin she had the register reward waiting for me at the store.

  10. Anonymous says:

I bought the severe cold with green tea at a wags in Denver and the $5RR is not working properly. It did not print. The manager said they are having problems system wide. I was given a rebate looking flyer to send in with my receipt to get the $5 back but they could not tell if I did more than one would I get multiples $5 back even if I submitted them separately. I also have to wait 6-8 weeks to get it. Has anyone had this happen before? Can you do multiples. I would really like to get more but not getting the $5 is an issue. Also, is it just this flavor perhaps that is a problem?

  11. Anonymous says:

I went to go get the Theraflu with the Lipton tea and my store didn’t have it. But, I noticed the Theraflu warming liquid had $1 off “peelies” on them, so I used the $3.00 off 2 and the peelies so I paid $5 and got $5 RR back.

  12. Kelly Davis says:

the manager at my wags said i had to spend the ten to get the 5RR. It didnt work either way and he ended up giving me 5$ in a refund. but i think the wording in the flyer is different from the normal RRs. I ended up buying three and got em for like 2 bucks a piece. the deal worked out fine for me so no biggy. I was glad i went at night though and there wasnt a big crowd.

  13. Anonymous says:

what do the NEW registers mean? Will all future deals be affected because of these registers…making us pay up to the amount AFTER coupons?

  14. Anonymous says:

Yes, that happened to me today too, the manager said that because of the coupons, it will not work. I bought another set of two to get the 5 rr, spending 12 bucks minus 5 rr equals to 8 for 4, two bucks each which is not a good deal. I will return them tomorrow. I will lose my high priced coupons but I have two more of the 2/1 coupons. Its awful when their ppl are not equipped and understand the coupon policy. sigh..

    • Anonymous says:

It works if the manager rings up a different flavor and lets you take the ones you purchased. The problem is the Green Tea flavor is not triggering the RR. It has nothing to do with less than $10 after coupons.

  15. Christy Kane says:

OK Guess next time i keep reading got my answer

  16. Christy Kane says:

I was trying to figure if i was the only one who had a problem with this…I went in got 2/10 TheraFlu Multi Symptom and got no rewards because i used 2 2.00/1 took it down to 6 dollars..woman said it went under the ten dollar mark so no rewards..Since the ad said $10 or more and my coupons took it under..Thanks

  17. Anonymous says:

There’s also a peelie right on the 6 pk for $3/2 if you didn’t print your coupons.

  18. Anonymous says:

i did this deal today and the $5 RR didn’t print out, but the manager just gave me a gift card for $5 instead…even better since there’s no expiration date on it…

  20. Tried at a Wags in Ft worth, tx and the cashier said they are having a problem w/ the RRs printing on this deal. Not just this particular Wags but all of them. Dunno if that’s true.

  21. At the Walgreens I went to they had $3 off any 2 coupons right on the boxes of the product(s) so I did not have to use the one from the paper. Did anyone else see this?

My RR was also $5 off the $10..not $6

  22. This is apparently NOT in all states. One of my local Walgreens just gave me the $5 register reward back as cash but another refused and checked with the area manager and called me to tell me it is not valis in OR …..

  23. Kerri says:

Has anyone purchased it? I was told yesterday when I was ready to purchase these items that the $6 RR would not be printed since the manufactuer requires the total purchase price be $10 or more. She explained that with the coupons it would be under that price and the RR’s weren’t printing. I was pretty disappointed! I’m hoping she was wrong and if I go back it will work.
Just wondering if anyone has given it a try and if it worked. There is also a $1 off coupon in their Oct book which should be good to use with the other coupons.. right?

    • Shopaholik! says:

you are correct. I bought them yesterday and RR didn’t print. I had to complain to the manager and manually gave me the RR.

    • Anonymous says:

If they try and tell you that it is because of your after coupon total being too low, have them rering it with no coupons. My cashier did and again no RR printed. So the manager ended up just giving me a Walgreens $5 GC. I got lucky and got there after the management already figured out the 1st day of the sale bugs:)

  24. Amber Gentry says:

i am going to wags later to get this deal. in the october coupon book for wags is a 1.00 off 2 q. making them free, if t he rr will print.

    • Anonymous says:

The one in the Oct coupon book is for the 2 pack boxes, I didn’t think this would work because in doesn’t include this in the description in the ad. Let us know if it does!

I bought the caplets today and received the RR no problem. Glad my bf talked me out of the tea bags (i almost got those!

  26. Courtnei says:

i also bought this today& my RR didn’t print. mgr said that often on the first day of a sale the RR sometimes malfunction. told me to come back tmrw& she would do an exchange so that I could get the RR

  28. Anonymous says:

I went to Walgreens today. Used 2/$2 coupons and the RR did not print. The manager read the print and we came to the conclusion that technically I spent $10 so he adjusted the price so that it was like i got the RR. But, I am glad to read that comment because it explains why the computer didn’t accept it.

    • Gerene Das says:

Had the same problem at my Wags, they gave me grief over the whole ordeal but with some persistence was able to get a settled 5$ refund instead of the RR!!

  29. I was a little ticked this morning when the coupons I printed they were all out of (I was there when the store opened too). I should have brought along the one in the smartsource insert but now am glad I didn’t. I think I’ll wait a few days and check on here to see if the RR starts working right. I did score on the Optic White though. My store only had the 5.5 ounces, until I looked up high on the shelf and saw 2 boxes almost hidden that were the correct ones! :)

    • punkangel070 says:

Love it when that happens, I had the same thing happen to me for the previous Crest Deep Clean + Whitening toothpaste deal. The different varieties were all mixed up and I found the last two that were hidden! :)

  30. Shopaholik! says:

I made $5 on this deal. I bought 2/$10, used 2 $5 coupons, gave me $5 RR. Sweet!

  31. Anonymous says:

I just came back from Wags and could not get the $5 rr for these to print. The assistant manager tried everything she said it might be something wrong with the system and said I could try back later in the week. She refunded my money and coupons. So super nice, I love to go shopping when she’s there.

  32. Anonymous says:

The problem is the Green Tea & Honey Lemon Flavor. It is not generating the $5 RR even though there is a photo of it in the Walgreens Ad. The manager at my wags just scanned a different flavor for me to get the RR but had me purchase the Green Tea & Honey Lemon so I could use my $2/1 coupon. Hope that helps.

    • Kelsey House says:

i just went to walgreens and it would not let me use the 3$/2 and my 5RR to purchase the products.. any ideas why? I did get my 5RR for the theraflu bottles, but she wouldnt take my coupon for the 3.00 off any 2. i should have added a filler item just to see if that was the problem but there was a really long line forming and the lady behind me was doing the “*sigh* hurry up already”— so i said screw it and just used my 5$ RR and paid 5.00.

      • Anonymous says:

That has happened to me before not sure why and the lady said the system was not accepting it so I didn’t purchase anything .. this happened a 2nd time at another store and the lady reversed the coupon and RR then re-enterd it in the opposite order (not sure the order the first time) and it went through. She said the system is just weird sometimes ……

The RR didn’t print on the green tea & honey lemon for my transaction either (OC CA.) but it did for the other boxes, cough and cold

        • also there is a store coupon in the OCT booklet that is for $1/1, maybe they are including this and that would make it $8 for 2 AFTER WAGS coupons and BEFORE Man Q? just a thought….

    Hi there,

First time posting here. The LIPTON Theraflu did not generate an RR for me today either. At this point I think I will call the catalina company or go get a refund and use the 3/2$ coupon on other Theraflu varieties that do print the RR.

  34. Cal says:

I can confirm between my experience and those of other couponers that the Theraflu+Lipton boxes will NOT produce a RR. All other varieties will work, so I had to use the $3/2 on the non-lipton flavors.

  35. Linda Torres says:

i purchased a total of 8, 2 at a time, wait dont freak out, lol, no shelf clearing, went 2 multiple walgreens and each time i spoke to the managers and they gave me gift cards fo the $5. i was told that this new product is not printing out the rr for anyone with and or without usung coupons, its a glitch in their system, any other confusion call corporate and theyll handle it for u.

  36. Anonymous says:

The manager said it’s up to the manufacturer if the deal works or not. I purchased 3: 2/$10 and one $5.99. I used 2/$2 coupons and a $6RR. Got a $5RR back.

  37. This deal did not work for me either. It would not print the register reward so she voided the transaction and gave me my money back. I will try the walgreens near my job tomorrow since some people are reporting it working at different locations.

At my wags in upstate NY, I bought what was described above using the 2 2.00/1 coupons. My 5.00 RR did not print. When I inquired about the RR, I was told that since the cost of the items was actually 6.00 and not 10.00, I was not entitled to the RR. Is this correct? I am thinking of returning the items; however unhappy that I’ve lost my two high value coupons. I’m new to wags shopping and find it very difficult unlike shopping at CVS. Any suggestions?

    • Misha Mishka says:

sorry it didn’t work out for you. Once in a while I would come across a deal for what other people would get their RR after using coupons, and I won’t. This time I actually got my rewards after using two $2 coupons. Don’t know why sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
If you decide to return your items you should get full cash value of your coupons ($4) or if you go back immediately, they might give your $ you paid plus return your coupons. It happened to me when they had “get $10 RR when you spent $30 P&G” deal- my rewards didnt’ print after I used coupons, so in the morning I got my money back+my coupons I used night before. Actually, RRs didn’t print even after I spent $30+ AFTER coupons- their catalina machine was broke and I had to do MIR.

    • Anonymous says:

The same thing happened to me in upstate NY. Really disliking Wags now. I second the ease of CVS. I ended up returning the TheraFlu right there and they gave my $10 back to equal the cost I paid and the coupons I lost.

  39. Anonymous says:

At my wags (upstate NY), I bought 2 of the Theraflu and used 2 of the 2.00/1 coupons for Theraflu with lipton green tea. The 5.00 RR did not print and I was told that because the total was less than the required 10.00 after using the coupons, I was not entitled to the RR. Is this correct? Not a great deal if not getting the RR and I am thinking of returning; however now I’ve lost my two high value coupons. I don’t find wags an easy store to navigate. Enjoy my CVS much more.

    • Anonymous says:

They’re wrong, $10 is pre-coupon so when you bought 2 you definitely should have gotten the RR.

When you return the two box they should give you $10+tax back. Because you paid $4 in coupons which to them is good as cash, and at the end they will still get reimbursed.

Same thing happened to me, they told me it was because I used coupons, 5 mins of me arguing and even showing them the “Coupon Savings in most Sunday Papers” logo right in the Theraflu ad, and the manager still wouldn’t budge an inch, but it wasn’t my usual Wags, so I hightailed it across town to my fave store.
There it took the cashier less than 30 secs to let me know that they are having issues with the Theraflu RRs not printing and gave me a print out they had ready at the checkout to mail in for the reward (even though I bought it at a different store).

Don’t let misinformed employees cheat you out of your RRs, my fave Wags is the best store around here, but I found out just how YMMV service can be between different stores today.

I bought two of the honey lemon w/ liptons – same as in wags ad picture. Rr did not print, so i returned them on the spot! Oh well, hopefully the theraflu deals are just beginning!

  42. Emily Hancin says:

My Wags did this to me this morning. No RR because I technically paid $6, not $10. So fed up with Wags, I hope you have better luck.

They did the same thing to me.He told me after coupons it had to total $10…So with 2/$10 i got 5 ..Totaled $20 ..Used my 4/$2 coupons total was $12. And i got 1 /5RR.So i went to another walgreens and it worked…I went back and returned them and told the manager …He said it wasnt suppose to print out and gave me money back…I told him ill come back when theres the nice manager later on….

    • Gerene Das says:

Emily its not the cpns hun, I tried without cpns and still no RRs so this was brought to the management which gave me a 5$ refund instead of RRs.

there was a problem with the theraflu with lipton, idk it wasn’t printing out the RR but the others were. If u bring it up however and the manager is nice enough they should try to print it for u.

I just used the 2 coupons in a $10 transaction and the RR didn’t print out. I talked to the manager and he said that after coupons I spent only $6, that’s why the RR didn’t print.
      I was so dissapointed!

    • Anonymous says:

I’ve done this 3 times already this week and have received the RR, altho the one with lipton was not printing out the RR because there was a problem with them, so it was posted on another site not to buy these yet, but everything else was.

  43. Anonymous says:

I bought (2) of the honey lemon green tea for $10, (2) halloween bags for fillers .13 ea. minus $4 in RR I had and (2) $2/1 coupons = $3.06 oop. My RR didn’t print so I was given a wags card for $5. Then I bought (2) boxes of the cough and cold for $10 minus $3/2 coupon and $5 wags card = $2.78 oop + $5 RR

Total spent out of pocket $5.84 for 4 boxes with $5 RR remaining! Sweet Deal! I would normally pay $7 a box.

    • punkangel070 says:

RR’s are frisky little things, I had an issue last week with a WAGS that I tried for the first time. It did not print out RR’s for the three deals even though I had more than enough filler items.

Just politely ask for a manager and see if they will void the transaction for you on the spot. If not, then just simply ask to do a return. (They will usually direct you to the beauty counter to do so!)

  44. Anonymous says:

The $2 printable is so specific (“with lipton green tea and lemon) that I was not able to use it this morning. Either my wags dont carry it or it’s all out. Should have printed the $3/2 Any theraflu. (I’m not buying Sunday paper this weekend). Would work out to be $1 each.

…So I ended up going home to print $2/3 Any Theraflu, and got other flavors (the ones with Lipton teas were all gone), and the RR printed out just fine. Yeah ended up $1 each but my hubby’s sick so totally worth it!

the coupon $3 off 2 and a coupon $2 off any product came in my saturday paper…. so i wont be printing these… look in your ss for these so you dont have to print them

    2/$10 – 2/$2 mq =$6 and get back $5rr so its 50 c am i right i dont even know

    • Misha Mishka says:

yes, you are right. I just did this deal for the 6 pks and I got $5 RR after using two $2/1 MQ. They ring up $5.99 for the 1st one and $4.01 for the other.

  47. Anonymous says:

hi people i just came from my wags and saw the theraflu warming bottles 8.3oz and a couple of other ones 2/$10 and if u use $3 off 2 makes it $7 and u get $5rr so its $1 a bottle i dont know if this is like worth getting or not really any input anyone?

i didnt get the rr manager told me it was because i used coupons :[ so i got 2/$6 guess thats like getting buy on get one since they were 5.99 each. i was very disappointed because ive never had a problem with the rr printed on similar scenarios

      • tenzin says:

yeah that happend to me twice…I lost a $1 because i used 2/$2 coupons instead of just paying that i would get $5rr-so out of pocket would be $6 total instead of $5 if i didn’t use the MQ!! errr so mad at wags-why they have to make it so hard….

  49. Could this possibly be a moneymaker? It looks like the ad is showing the severe cold 6pk with Lipton Green Tea! Using 2 $2/1 MQ possibly $1 MM! Well with tax here would be a .50 cent MM.

  50. Anonymous says:

i went on a business trip last year and in desperation bought this stuff. It did work, however I had to close my nose in order to get it down. It’s very stong. I would buy it again for me, but my kids would never drink this.

    • Misha Mishka says:

I like this medicine, it works great. I just don’t use the whole packet at once (spread it over two cups). I add it to my regular tea with some extra sugar and just sip it slowly. Soothes my sore throat too! I love drinking hot tea anyways, so it is my #1 cold medicine; though I prefer lemon flavor. So, 50 cents a box is a stock up price for me!
