I complained that I had followed the rules of the program I was enrolled in when I JOINED Petco PALS, and after going through SEVERAL managers, they finally sent me a gift card for $15 to receive a free bag. I decided they were NOT worth the hassle, and now participate in the same Buy 10 Get 1 Free deal at Pet SuperMarket…which has my brand of dog food MUCH cheaper anyway. Be wary. But I can imagine how difficult it would be to evacuate all the birds, frogs, iguana, lizards and other animals that they sell safely to other locations. I am a #1 animal lover but if it put people's lives in danger to rescue the animals, there is only so much you could do. Then what happens when the animals were rescued. Maybe they didn't have a safe place to put them. Very tragic yes but I'm sure they did what they could do I do not know the complete story on what happened in Ny with the flooding at Petco. Instead for every so many points I get a $5 off coupon. There have been times when I have earned $10 at once and they will let you use those on top of your coupons. I just had to fill out a paper saying I adopted an animal.
