I recently was informed by my local Safeway that they have an internal memo (which is why it’s not on their online coupon policy) that states that they will only accept 1 like internet printed coupon per customer and that they do not accept internet printed coupons for more than 50% the retail price of the product. I was appalled! This seems just targeted to discriminate against couponers that plan to get great deals by matching internet printed coupons with sales! I emailed Safeway corporate and had a long conversation with my store manager and he told me about this memo but noted that they continue to accept regular clipped coupons from the newspaper that are for more than 50% of the product’s price.

Based on this information, it appears like deals like this Eucerin deal which use an internet printed coupon wouldn’t be allowed. Does anyone else experience this? I have been shopping and couponing at this same store for a long time and this is the first I heard of it, though the manager said it is not a new policy.

I have never heard of this policy. I’ve shopped at numerous Safeway stores and have never had a problem using coupons at any price.  That sounds a little strange to me and if I were you I would email or call the corporate office.
