We received a lot of questions yesterday about how to access mobile coupons from Walgreens.  Here’s how:

  • Upload the Walgreens mobile app.
    • The app is available for iPhone, Android and Blackberry.
  • You will find their “coupons” tab on the main page of the app.  You will be able to access the coupons from that tab as well as sign up for SMS-based alerts.

New coupons will be offered about every three days and will range from $0.50 to $5.00 off a variety of products.  Cashiers are able to scan these coupons directly from your phone AND you can stack these mobile coupons with manufacture coupons!

Other features of the Walgreens Mobile app include: viewing the weekly ad and sales, scanning barcodes, managing your prescriptions and shopping online.

If you download the app now, the $2.00 off Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips coupon is still available.

  1. I do not have internet on my iphone or Blackberry, will I be able to use this app or do I have to connect through a wireless network to be able to do it.  I have wireless at home so can connect to it, but wondering if it will work at the store where there is no wireless access.  ??????

The directly calling numbers is because there is a part in the app called store locator.  It lets you look up the stores near you and displays the phone numbers, hours, pharmacy hours & phone #, etc.  You can press the text of the phone number and it will dial.  This way you do not have to write it down or memorize the number then exit the app and dial.  The camera permission is so that you can scan your rx barcode and refill it.  The scan is done by camera, so the app needs permission for access to the camera.

The same thing happened to me tonight. I found the SH Polish Strips on Clearance for $2.54, when the mobile coupon was scanned said the same thing….not in the database. The manager came over and tried it, it didn’t work so he adjusted the price down to $.54 for me.

I went to see if my mobile coupon would scan and it didn’t scan either.  The manager was going to report it and we let them know that it was a problem that all of the stores were having.  Hopefully they will correct the problem for future mobile coupons.  Our Walgreens manager has always been great about making manual adjustments!

  5. This is non related to this post but the Walgreens RR’s are manufacturing coupons. I can use these at some of my local grocery stores and some will not accept them. I have noticed that they say redeemable ONLY at Walgreens yet they are manufacturer coupons. One of my grocery stores say it doesn’t matter if it says ONLY on them as long as they are MQ we can accept them, and on the other side of the coin some stores say because it says ONLY on them we can’t take them. It’s just depends where you take them I guess.

I work at Walgreens and they posted something awhile ago that says we can’t take coupons that say “only at target”. I dont know if that was just my store or the whole company. I have never run into the issue of someone bringing me another store’s coupons. (Disclaimer: obviously I don’t speak for the opinions of Walgreens Company)
