Here is how the policy works at DG with the register coupon or on line coupon. make your purchase for the designated amount IE: $25 purchase. The $5 off DG coupon is then deducted from your $25 total purchase. you can then use your coupons on your purchases as long as they are valid and for the correct purchase. The manager or key carrier can select manufacturer coupon and key in for amount if the coupons do not scan. this is provided it is a valid coupon, hope this helps

  2. The Huggies are on sale on top of this sale too. The DG in my area had no pampers. Just Luvs and Huggies and the generic brand.

This was a great deal. I went this morning and instead of getting the small packs, I got the big boxes for 19.50.  For one transaction  I got 2 onesis for $6 plus the 19.50 diapers I used a $2/1 Q and the $10 DGQ so my subtotal was $13.50 I figured the diapers were $.15ea for sz 3 and I got the onesis for free. My second order I got the box of diapers $19.50 and little girls character underwear 3pk is 5.50 which is the perfect difference for the diapers to reach $25 and I used $3/1 Q and $10 DGQ so my subtotal was $12. So the diapers were $.14ea and the underwear were free. I may go back again later and get the next sz up in diapers lol!
And I am happy to report I had a hassle free check out WOO! HOO!

  4. My DG doesn’t carry the Huggies Slips Ons (darn) but I was able to get 3 packs of size 2 Snug & Dry diapers for $6.17 per bag which is actually a better deal because you get more diapers per bag (.14 cents per Snug & Dry 42 ct size 2 versus almost .20 cents per Slip On 26 ct size 3)

Buy 3 packs of Snug & Dry Diapers, $10.50
    Use $10/25 DG Store Coupon
Use 3 $1/1 coupon peelie found on package
    or
Use 3 $1/1 coupon found in the 3/18 SS

Total: $6.17 each when you buy 3

  5. Totally scored with this today!!  As I’m checking out at the register, I find out my DG had “Little Movers” for only $6 (not sure why but it’s how they rang up). Ran back and grabbed another package and a bottle brush ($1).  Total $25.  Used the $10 off $25 to make total $15, then used 4 $2/1 Huggies Coupons saving another $8.  Total $25-$10-$8 = $7plus tax.  Final price $1.75 (or $1.50 if you take the $1 bottle brush off).    So Happy!!!!  Wish I could do that more often ;>)

Lucky you my DG doesn’t carry Little Movers! So I snagged 2 packs of Pampers size 3 and a pack of socks for my baby total was $25 used the $10 off $25 made $15 and minus 2 $1.50 off pampers printable qs my total was $12 even before tax and $12.90 after. Making it $4 a pack of pampers diapers isn’t bad at all!

I had problems the last 2 trips to Dg using the Saturday only $5 coupon.  I emailed DG customer Service and received back an excellent response and could not apologize enough from this Area Manager.  Bottom line, the cashiers are ringing it all up wrong.  MQ DO NOT COUNT AGAINST the $25 qualifying purchase to get the extra $5 off.  I also had an issue with “If the coupon deduction makes the item free, the register won’t take it”  WRONG!!  They are not ringing it up right.  Also, if the $1 is free because the Q value is $1, that is to our advantage for couponing.  This area manager grew up cutting out coupons with her mom and grandmother and personally still uses coupons today.  Her personal life experience made it real easy for her to understand our frustration.  If you can’t get the cashier to understand it, just ask for the manager.  The store manager persoanlly called me today also and confirmed the cashiers rang it up wrong.  I will personally see her tomorrow and she will take care of my $20 cash that is owed me.  You DO HAVE to ring up your transactions separately if you are planning on using more than one of the Saturday only $5 off coupon. I have read a lot of negative comments that some couponers have sworn off DG.  Sometimes it seems too much of a hassell, but we are helping support our daughter’s (schoolteacher) family since her husband lost his job over 2 years ago and is back in school.  These special Saturday only coupons for me are very valuable is helping to provide for our 3 grandchildren.  Don’t let them get away with what is NOT company coupon policy.  I hope everyone has a good experience at DG tomorrow.  Happy shopping!

I have 3 coupons for $3/1 huggies diapers. The coupon is a manufacturer’s coupon but has the CVS logo on it. Do you think Dollar General will accept it?

    • Anonymous says:

If it’s a manufacturer coupon they should accept but you never know. It really depends on your cashier. Definitely worth a try!

  9. I found the coupon under that same zip code just fine, you just have to search it page through page.

  10. Anonymous says:

The coupon says not valid with any other Dollar General coupons. These are manufacturer coupons so you should have no problem. :)

    • I just had to share, In the start of all these crazy trips, that would have made me so upset that it did not work, But your website has taught me to go with the flow and remember another deal is just around the corner. I actually taught a class this past weekend (directing them all to this site) and that was one of my focus points. I have said it before, and will say it again….. Therapy… lol

  11. Just a head’s up I tried to do this last week, with pledge and Scrubbing bubbles cleaner, and the register deducts a small amount off each item as a manufacturers coupon. No idea why???? This was the first time I tried to combine a Dollar General store coupon and manufacturers coupon. It wouldn’t let her enter anything after that. She called the manager over and the manager tried telling me it was because the items I was buying were on sale, so the register will only accept 2 discounts off the price of the item. I showed her in their policy where it states can use 1 dg coupon and 1 manufacturers coupon. she said the policy was wrong.Since I had other DG coupons and really needed the pledge I told her scrap the 5 off total purchase. void the transaction and start over. Then she rang up my 4 pledges, and the register would only allow her to put threw 1 of the $1.00 off pledge store coupons and my $1.50/2 pledge coupons on 4 bottles. she then said this was because it was per transaction. I said the coupons do not prohibit using more than 1 and it doesn’t really address that in your policy. She then voided the transaction and asked me to go downtown to the other store because they knew how to enter them. I went there and they told me I could not even use 1 store coupon and 1 man. coupon. ?????? I just gave up, and have been too busy all week to call anyone to find out what the heck it should be. Good Luck fellow KCL’ers.

Same thing happened with my DG and i live within 10miles of the corporate office. They don’t know or don’t care at my stores but there are a few cashiers that will actually work with you, it just takes awhile to find them

    • Anonymous says:

Same thing happened to me last Saturday. It was a mess. She had to change prices and it took forever but she did it. I think I missed out on $2 but after standing there for 20 min I didn’t care I just wanted to get out of there. I hope it goes smoothly tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Their policy and their register aren’t on the same page. We should all bring it to Corporate’s attention and maybe they can fix it.

      • Laura Strope says:

I had the same issue at Dollar General. I avoid going there now just because both times I couponed there they gave me a problem because I used a DG store coupon with a manufacturer coupon and the register wouldn’t take both. I agree their registers are so out of date. They need to be updated!!

        • In reply to mommyofc2, Laura Strop, and Melinda I have had calling the corporation on my list of 2 do’s for over a week, I agree they cannot fix these problems unless we all let them know. I live in a super small town and the registers are older than my first born child. lol I have watched over the last 2 years or so, some stores at least in my area make positive improvements on the feedback they receive. The manager on  that particular day told me that because the item was on sale for x and then I used the 5 dollar off 25.00 one it would not read any manufacturer’s Q’s because it would only allow 2 discounts per item and since it took a little off each item, I had received my 2 discounts, but when she tried it without the 5 off 25 Q it still would not work????? Oh well I ended up getting them the following week at GE for much less. so I quess it was a good thing.

  12. are these boxes or bags? i have a few $2 off coupons on boxes :/

  13. Their math is off. If you buy three then each one is 6.17…not 5.17.

  14. Ron says:

If you have the coupon from the website it states, “Not valid with any other Dollar General coupon offers.”  If you have it on the store receipt it states, “Not valid with any other coupons or offers.”  I will be using the coupon from the website.

  15. Ok, I always have problems with DG.  Someone said to use the DG coupons first, then manufacturer.. but it’s usually the other way around for other stores.  Anyone know what works for DG?

  16. Anonymous says:

  18. Keli Kucera says:

Darn, too bad I don’t have a Dollar General within 100 miles of me!! lol

  19. I found the coupons on the second page while searching under that zip. Also, I read them and it says not valid with any other DG coupons or offers, so the diaper coupons will work :)

  20. I have the dg coupons, but they say not valid with other coupons or offers…
