Got a RR and used it for 1st time ever at Walgreens and already got messed up. I used my Lanacane RR to buy another witch hazel and shower gel. didn’t realize they rang up to 4.99 plus tax then tried to use my rr for $5. they wouldn’t take it b/c of the 1 cent difference! has to be $5 in product not in tax at all! omg what a mess tried to add a tiny thing to make the difference wouldn’t work. thank goodness a manager came and put it through. I didn’t realize over a penny it wouldn’t work. all a learning experience! so for fellow newbies make sure the products alone are atleast the $$ amount for the register reward BEFORE tax! and thank you to this site its been wonderful, thank you for KCL dedication to help others and everyone is so nice on this board helping too. I feel like you have to be a rocket scientist to shop at Walgreens! haha. grocery stores are easier.

I don’t play the lottery or gamble — I get all my money thrills rolling rewards at Walgreens!

You are so welcome! We love couponers and want to make sure that everyone sticks with it! Couponing is an evolving process and the policies are always changing (ahhh, so frustrating).  And you will have little snags along the way (like today) but I promise the overall savings are totally worth it and once you get the hang of it you won’t ever go back to paying retail!

There is a little controversy over RR use.  According to Coupon Like a Man who has done this, Walgreens should reduce the value of the  $5 RR down to the
(in your case) $4.99 because it is a MC and Walgreens policy states that is what they do for MCs that are worth more than the value of the product because RRs are MCs and not walgreens in-store coupons.  It didn’t work for me. but he has done it and others have tried it and have succeeded using the walgreens coupon policy as their reference.

  3. Is there a limit on how many times we can buy a certain item and still get RR. Like the lanacane?

  4. Anonymous says:

TQTQ answered your question.  If you still have more questions, let us know!

  5. Anonymous says:

I”m curious what happens if you bought for example the Lanacane for $5 and got a register reward for $5, then you ended up returning the Lanacane? Will it know to void out the RR reward? I can’t find anything about this in their return policy? help?

    • Anonymous says:

If you return the product, you should also return the RR.

      • Anonymous says:

thanks so much just starting this coupon thing and wanted to make sure I understood how the RR works. I’ve read the policies but don’t see how returns affect things. Like kohls if you return stuff before using your kohls cash, the kohls cash is automatically taken away.

        • just a quick thought about your Kohl’s comment… I returned some things after xmas that hubby bought me and as a bonus, the kohl’s cash he received he put in my stocking.  When I did the return they said that I could keep the Kohl’s cash as long as the refund amount went onto a Kohl’s gift card.  Their one of my favorite clothing stores so it was a win-win for me!

          • Anonymous says:

yes that is true but if you return the items b4 the kohls cash period kicks in to spend it then you lose the KC. If its after the redeemable period  you can get your returns put back on merch credit. thanks!

          • Charity Name says:

If you can, try and turn your KC into a store credit or you won’t get a good deal when you use a % off with it. I worked as a customer service sup for years there and that was one of our biggest complaints from ppl.

    • Anonymous says:

if you return the product be careful. i am a former employee of walgreens and i w2as never told you have to return the RR if you return the items. Because of this revised policy i was fired. I did a return manager that processed it never asked for my RR and i was fired last week. Not only will they get on your case but that person that does your return aswell. Please be carefull.

      • Anonymous says:

holy cow! i was just curious about the return policy so if i needed to return anything in the future i followed the rules! i always like to know return policies and i couldn’t find it. i’m new to WAlgreens and couponing and just wanted to be doing things correctly! yikes!

  6. hello, i am usually frustrated with walgreens as all of you seem to be but so far this week i have visited two stores and it has went smoothly, I bought the complete solution with the coupon so i made a $1 and used the 8rr to buy the witch hazel and the lanacane, I went to walgreens this morning and used the 4rr from witch hazel and 5rr from lanacane and used it to buy the complete solution and I started over. I used the 8rr to buy the witch hazel and lanacane so as of now i have two of each. I will try another walgreens later so I do not visit the same ones although they both had ample of each

    • Anonymous says:

We are SO glad that you had 2 good experiences! I hope it continues for you!

      • Anonymous says:

just so i understand when you use the 8rr for the witch hazel and lanacane don’t you still have to pay $1, since they are $9 total? still learning all this.

My suggestion as a manager at walgreens would be to check out, if available, in cosmetics. As coupon transactions will often take longer, cosmetics is usually less busy and a good choice. With that being the norm, typically most cosmeticians in the stores have a good working knowledge of the way to help you maximize you potential for couponing too. At least at the stores I have worked at we have trained them to know how to “use” the RR system. Why not help you make money since we make it at the same time from the manufactures. But… Do as everyone else here says and know that you can buy as many RR items in one transaction as you want, but if you want duplicates of a same item it needs to be in a separate order. Enjoy, and I hope your shopping is easy and fun.

    • Anonymous says:

Thanks for posting pk_adam! We love to hear Manager’s feedback and suggestions! I love my Walgreens team!

i got the scrubbing bubbles one step toilet bowl cleaner kit for free. it was supposed to be 6.99 but the bonus pack with a refill and a free holder rang at 4.49 i had a 5 dollars printable coupon. i did not get the 2 reward because its the bonus pack but hey free is good enough for me. if you have that coupon and can find the bonus pack at your store it will be a great offer

  9. Anonymous says:

You can buy one of each RR deal all together in one transaction. I do this when I am pressed for time and less worried about the out of pocket. You do need to check before you leave that you got all the RRs you were expecting. If I do this, I will go back later in the week and repeat any especially good deals and use the RRs to pay.

  10. Anonymous says:

i saw some great deals on the endcaps this week in the clearance sections so make sure if you dont normally check these out, DO!  also I had my plan all written down on paper then bought 1 extra thing, used the wrong stupid RR so it didnt spit it out.  The cashier refunded me and rerang it and WAHLA RR.  Have I mentioned that i LOVE my Walgreens?

I have been having problems getting rebates back lately.  For example on the neosporin rebate a few months back i used a $5 coupon for the neosporin essentials ($12.99) and submitted for the rebate.  However i only got 7.99 back nowhere on the rebate form does it say that coupons will be deducted from the total rebate given.  Also my friend bought the same neosporin and she used the $5 coupon with a $3 RR she had gotten the previous week (she had other purchases as well on the same receipt).  However on her receipt the RR shows as being a manufacturer coupon for the neosporin and the $5 coupon is also listed as a neosporin manufacturer coupon so they only sent her a rebate check for $4.99.  Is this right it doesnt seem fair that the RR shows up as a neosporin coupon when it wasnt.  Is there anything we can do about this and if so who do we need to talk to?

    • Anonymous says:

You can try and contact the company. I also did the mail in rebate and used a $5.00 coupon and I received $12.99.

Ok I told myself not to go to Walgreens.  But I did, I couldn’t resist.  I got the Lancane, Complete Solution, Finish gelpac, U by Kotex, 2 All detergents, 5 easter candy for fillers.  $29.36 total, OOP cost was $2.07.  All done in 3 transactions and I have $1.50RR.  Couponing is just a fun game on how much you can save.  Although CVS is much easier to coupon.  At CVS it was $40.64 worth of product, OOP cost was $1.56 and all done in 2 transactions.  I have $7.73 in ECBs.  Walgreens makes you think more.  We have a lot of couponers in this area, so the cashier knows how it goes.

    • Anonymous says:

I laughed when you said that you weren’t going to go but couldn’t resist!! Great job!

Witch Hazel Peelie Mail In Rebate. I found it on the product next to the one that is on sale. But it is for ANY Witch Hazel product.

    • sully says:

i saw it too but it was for a different product. if your coupons says for any then i think you wont have a problem.

  14. Charity Name says:

WooHoo moneymaker galore for me except for the contact solution..hawaii fails again by not offering this as a RR

Thank you so much for the advice Hiedi Melton and Tiffany price i really appreciate your response. Walgreen’s really feels like a headache to me right now but i will keep trying and i will get it eventually i guess. I think that a lot of the cashiers are not well trained in the Walgreen’s that i go to which really doesn’t help anybody. It is all a learning curve i guess and since the coupon thing seems to be saving me so much cash i will definitely keep going.

    • Frances Lee says:

I make friends with the ladies & do all my transactions at the Beauty (Cosmetic) counter because they get commissions on each transaction.  In such case if I have to buy the same item for a few times to get the RR each time and they won’t mad at me.  =)

  16. Anonymous says:

I have a general question about Walgreens, can somebody please help me? Next wk i will be pechasing cereal and detergent, there is a RR with each of the two items. If i perchase them in the same transaction will i get both the Register rewards or do i have to ring them up seperately. Walgreens really has me confused and i would very much appreciate any advice
since i am very new to the coupon world.

    • Hiedi Melton says:

You have to buy them seperately….I had the same problem the first few times I shopped at Walgreens and it surely didn’t help that the cashier didn’t know either. There were several voids and one ticked off manager by the time I left out of there.

    • Anonymous says:

Tiffany is correct.  You can buy 20 items that have RR as long as none of them are the same and it will spit them all out at the end of the transaction.  Like it was stated…if you are buying TWO of the same items THEN you will need to do them in 2 separate transactions.

    • Anonymous says:

Wheck out our Walgreens 101 section; it should help you out (the link was already posted for you).  With your scenario, you can buy both items and you should receive both RR.  The only  time you should not receive a RR is if you buy 2 of the same product in one transaction (you will only get 1 RR instead of 2). You also do not want to use a RR from 1 product to buy the same product or the new RR will not print.

  17. Anonymous says:

    I figured it out :)

Is there a peelie on the Renew Life first cleanse? I was trying to look up a mail in rebate form but not having any luck. Can anyone help?

  19. Cassie Raese says:

Witch hazel will be a 2.00 money maker for me this coming week. Walmart had peelies for this brand awhile ago. They didn’t expire until 06/1/2015 so I am glad I grabbed them.

I think I’ll be skipping Walgreens this weekend.

  21. I have been having a lot of problems using coupons and even register rewards lately. Has anyone else been experiencing issues?

    • Anonymous says:

We have been getting a lot of reports of that happening with the new computer systems. Are your mangers willing to work with you?

      • Today was better. I am hoping they worked the kinks out of the new system.

      • Anonymous says:

The new systems have been working in my favor lately. I dont have as may beeps and I’ve been getting RR’s after buying the product I used them on. I havent tried buying more than one, but Im pretty sure it wouldnt work.

    • Becky Jones says:

I have been – just shopped there last week for the first time in about a month. My coupons didn’t scan and the cashier was kind enough to manually enter the codes, although he didn’t give me the instant store coupon for one of my items so I overpaid BUT at least he was nice. I have definitely had some issues there recently with cashiers not being helpful. CVS is definitely my preferred drugstore now – Wags used to be my favorite. :(

    • sully says:

yeah the system wouldnt take my rr but the manager took care of it. he was very nice

    • Make sure when your using a coupon with a BOGO they don’t scan the BOGO first , cause the other one won’t work. Were probably going to have to arrange some of our coupons so they will scan right. I know for sure this is the case at Walgreens :o)

Witch hazel can also be used for razor burn/irritation

  23. Anonymous says:

There was a Lanacane coupon a couple of weeks ago, I forgot to print it and forgot how much it was but that could also be a money maker. What is witch hazel used for??

    • the witch hazel can be used as a facial astringent.  keep a look out for the ones with a rebate form on them too, could be a moneymaker :o)

      • Anonymous says:

The ones at my store all have the rebate tags on them!

Unfortunately I already completed this rebate offer when I purchased Dickinson’s beauty witch hazel products a few weeks back ;s

      • You can also use witch hazel for hemorrhoids.  It has a lot of purposes!

    • Anonymous says:

I just looked and the lanacane coupon is for $1off. Witch hazel is kind of a soothing agent. They put it in the tucks pads alot. I remember using them after I had babies.

    • sully says:
