I have argued till I’m blue and taken the policy with me, and at our Albertsons the manager insists I must pay for a speed stick and then get 2 free, one on the store and one for the coupon…..Ugh…..She really makes me angry!

My albertsons in Oregon still had some of the mens deoderant marked BOGO yesterday (05/09/12) and it did ring up that way. The womens however was not. so I only got 2 of the mens for free.

I kept looking through the wrong ss.  I knew I had it but i was going crazy not finding it.  Those couponing withdraws when you dont get what you want.

  4. Anonymous says:

i asked at the local rite aid(they’re BOGO there too through Sat) and they have the same policy.

the policy linked to this website applies to Intermountain West Division. I too had a bad outcome with the BOGO match up. I grabbed 8 deodorants and as the cashier scanned the first coupon, it read as “invalid.” Called Albertson’s Customer Service # myself and was advised the combination of the in-store promotion in the weekly ad and the BOGO manufacturer coupon only applies to Idaho, Washington and nearby states. I’m in California so it wasn’t applicable to Lakewood, CA or Long Beach, CA.

I have a girlfriend that works at Albertsons and she said that we should of been able to do this transaction without a problem.  She is emailing me a copy of it tomorrow. I also went on their facebook and complained and I immediately received a reply that it will be handled….so I will let you all know what happens.  I am on a mission

      • Anonymous says:

NIIICE please let me know because the Albertson’s in Lakewood definitely didn’t let me use this match up deal smh

Sorry to hear everyone is having problems with the BOGO coupons. I go to the Albies on willow/pacific and the one on lb blvd/5th and have never had problems. Everyone is always so great! I just used some of my BOGOs yesterday without any problems. Are these the location you are talking about in Long Beach?

          • Kat Cunert says:

Don’t go to the one on Spring.  They are all over the board on their policies.  I think I am going to go to the ones you listed because I am tired of being embarrassed by them because they don’t know their own policies.   Thanks carbar80 for the heads up!

No I went to the one in Lakewood, behind Lakewood Mall.

just came back from Albies here in Covina, CA. i did not have a good outcome either. i was trying to get 8 deodorants, (4coupons) and they told me no initially. then i was taken to a customer service were they called corporate themselves and came back to tell me that they apologize and that i may get 6 free, but need to purchase 2. not sure how they came up with this. although my experience was not what i expected i thanked them for trying to help me out. (although  it was not much help, i figured that i  always shop at that albies and wanted to leave on good terms because i will see them every week.) i do have to say, my girls were imbarrased and wanted to leave the store :(

Checka1, I went to the same store (the one on Azusa?) last night and had two problem transactions!  The first was the deodorant but I was only buying 4.  The cashier tried to school me on how the thing works and so I showed her the print-out of the Albertson’s policy where it is very clearly defined that a B1G1 sale can be combined with a B1G1 coupon and both items will be free.  She took that over to the manager (Eric, who was very busy) and he OK’d it.

Then I bought 4 Dr. Pepper 2-liter bottles and the Catalina didn’t print!  They were so frazzled that they just gave me a $5.00 bill.  So, everything worked but I felt bad for having to be such a pest.  Not really though, I don’t make this stuff up, I’m just trying to take them up on their offers!

      • I know the feeling…  I live in a small town with only 1 CVS and 1 Walgreens…  If I want to go to a Target I have 1 20 minutes away and feel the same like not fighting too much with them but they come out with so many excuses and changes to the coupon policies that it gets old…  And the feeling that you get as if you are really stealing something because of the way they explain things…  I wonder if it has been like this forever or if it’s just lately…  To be honest, I have been couponing for years in South Florida and never had a problem.  Grantes, I didn’t follow blogs and it was not as “die hard” as I do it now.  But, at the beginning of the year, my husband and I moved to a small town in Louisiana and since the first day that I went to a store here I’ve encountered problems…  I don’t know if it’s because I’m not working and now I follow the deals here and use more coupons than before or what…  Kinda exhausts me… :-/

  7. I had the exact same, negative experience that many of you have mentioned at the Woodland Hills, CA (Los Angeles county) store. I have used BOGO on BOGO before with no issues but his time they were horrible and told me I was trying to get away with something even when I showed them the policy.  That was the most demeaning experience I’ve ever had couponing…

  8. Leslie Uribe says:

does anyone know if the sale is still going on today?

  9. Anonymous says:

Sorry to hear so many of my fellow couponers are having bad experiences at Albie’s. The cashier in the one in Santa Monica, CA was super nice and even told me I did well when I got my deodorants for free. Before I left, the manager gave me free apple/banana and free cookie cards for my kids. I had a wonderful 10 minutes there. Don’t give up couponing just because you had a bad day.

  10. Kat Cunert says:

I am so sad.  Just came back from my local Albertsons in Long Beach and they would not let me my 6 deodorants.  The “manager” came and told me that I could not use the coupon with the buy one get one sale because she said “I had to buy one” I tried to explain but the line became really long and I was getting angry looks.  So I just left.  Did the policy change or do they just not know their own coupon policy?

    • Ramona Laird says:

I had the same problem today, except that the cashier let me use one of my BOGO coupons! WTH?? I tried to explain that they would be reembursed for the $3.99 by the manufacturer, but she wouldn’t listen! So aggrevating! Still a good deal, but still! UGH!

    • Anonymous says:

I live in Long Beach! Which Albertsons did you to?

  11. Anonymous says:

I had my worst experience to date over this deal they tried to tell me that there policy states that u buy one then get 2 free after the use of the coupon, when I tried to explain it to them they said I was lying and trying to trick them. I left it at that after manager number 3 told me the me the same story. Called corporate right after and the manager called me back in like 15 min after I told corporate I was going to report my treatment to the ACLU! They kept referring to me as “u people,” not because I’m Hispanic but because I’m a couponer, I’m PROUD to be ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE!
I’m tiered of being treated like a criminal because I’m a couponer, I’m not stealing the merchandise is being paid for buy the manufacturer, I didn’t walk into these cashiers homes open their medicine cabinet and take there deodorant so what do they care?

    • Kat Cunert says:

Jess,  what store where you at?  Sounds like the store I was just in.  I dont know why stores cannot follow their own companies policies.  Its not that hard.

    • It happened to me once (not with this deal but similar situation) at CVS…  I’m hispanic.  I’m a couponer.  AND I’M PROUD OF BEING BOTH!!!!  I was treated like a criminal by the “manager” (quotations cause the way he treated me is not the appropriate way for a manager) who even put me in time out while I was trying to explain to him that he was wrong…  Anyway, I guess we will always run into people who don’t understand the couponing system…  Maybe we should remind them that besides the amount on the coupon the store is being paid an extra fee for handling the coupon, right?  I mean, at the end they are making more money, aren’t they?

  12. Anonymous says:

I just called my Albertsons to order these for me to come and get and now they are trying to limit me to just 10.  Can I fight them on it or must I follow that limit even though the policy states no limit?  I have 49 coupons and wanted to donate these to troops overseas and local families in need.

  13. Anonymous says:

Got a raincheck for this deal…the shelves were empty so I’m thinking KCL is right about the coupon policy.

  14. Daniel says:

Anyone know if the sale is good in Florida?  Local ad doesnt have the sale listed

    • Anonymous says:

This was an unadvertised deal so you will have to go to the store or call and see if this deal is good near you. Sale ends today!

  15. Anonymous says:

I grabbed a raincheck and ordered 40 more coupons! That’s 80 deodorants! Donating these to my local mission!

  16. Eileen Hutchins says:

I got 12 yesterday I couldn’t believe it! I think I will donate most of them.

  17. so was this an advertised deal???? cuz i dnt c it in my albertsons ad….

  18. Anonymous says:

Just left my Albertson’s, apparently the one in Louisiana doesnt have the same sales as all the ones up north :( Missed out on that one… hopefully there will be another good deal before the ones I have left expire!

  19. does anyone knoe when this sale ends??

  20. All the Albertsons in my area are sold out.  Does anyone know if Albertsons will issue a raincheck?

    • Anonymous says:

I read on another post a couple days ago, that someone did get a raincheck from there, but Im not for sure… Im wondering the same thing!

    • Anonymous says:

My albertsons issued me a raincheck last week for the speed sticks! Hope that helps.

    • Anonymous says:

Yes, you should be able to get a raincheck for these. Keep in mind that the coupon expires on the 19th! In the meantime, keep an eye out for another good deal. Might not be able to get them for free but still fairly cheap. Good luck

  21. babiangel007 says:

I still have to pay like $1 plus tax because our price here in So Cal is $4.89… :(

  22. mustangkayla says:

Sorry, I’m newer to couponing.  So if there is a ‘buy one get one free’ deal at the store, and you use a ‘buy one get one free’ coupon, you get the two items for free?  Or is it that you buy one and get two free?

    • Anonymous says:

That is correct. You get 2 items free. A free one from the store sale and a free one from the coupon. Albertsons is one of the only stores that has this great coupon policy

      • Anonymous says:

does that include all Albertsons including ones in Oregon a read a few post that say other wise?

        • Anonymous says:

Yes, including Oregon! If all else fails, print out Albertsons coupon policy and take it with you.

          • Anonymous says:

UGGGHHH!!! Gonna go try it again today.  I’ll hit a different Albertsons cuz the other one was swearing up & down they can’t do this….including an employee that spoke on here.

            • Which Albertsons in Oregon was it? On the off chance it’s the one I’m planning on going to.

            • Anonymous says:

Troutdale Albertson’s….257th & Stark.  I went to the one on 181st & Glisan today and got my raincheck because those shelves are empty and I’m a regular at the other Albertson’s where they told me no

          • Anonymous says:

            thanks =)
