Did you try these transactions? It should work the way you wrote it out (if the RR are still rolling).

  2. Street Light says:

Will the RR roll if i use a RR that says Kellogs on it or does it have to be the RR from my poptart transaction?

  3. I did this yesterday and it didn’t work in Ohio.  The second one did not print out… boo!

    • I used the  RR from Pop Tarts for the Nutrigrain Bars and it did not generate  the new RR from that transaction.   The Manager was nice enough to printed for me though.

  4. Rolled in CT! I bought 2 (paid with a $4 RR from the witch hazel) left put them in the car came back in (there was a line and the workers were all busy and I didn’t want to hold anyone up) bought 2 more paid with the RR from tran 1 and got another $2 RR. I plan on going back tomorrow or Friday to get more. My kids LOVE poptarts and at this price I can’t beat it!

  5. what is filler item ?

    • Anonymous says:

Because Walgreens does not allow you to have more coupons than products in one transaction and because they consider a Register Reward a coupon, you often need a “filler item” or extra product if you want to use a Register Reward to lower your out-of-pocket cost.  Let me know if you still need help!

The $2 RR did not roll her in So Cal. I bought 2 strawberry pop tarts in my first transaction and I tried to buy 2 more in the second transaction. The cashier voided the second transaction since the RR didn’t print.

    Hi
I have a general question about Walgreens. Last wk I purchased two of the Finish detergent in seperate transactions, which meant i received two of the same register rewards. My question is this, can i combine those register rewards next wk in one transaction? I understand the coupon/item ratio rule, I am just not sure it i can combine two register rewards that are the same in one transaction. Thank you to anybody that has the time to answer. I have read coupon policy and watched the videos, but this is still unclear for me.

I just tried scenario, and it did not work.  The manager’s explanation was the oddest I have heard in a long time.  She said that the RR did not print the second time, because I used a coupon, and some companies are getting smart about customers who “try to cheat the system”.  However, if that were true, why would my RR would have printed on the first transaction? Maybe the rolling RR just do not work in this area? So, I returned one of the transactions and went down the street to use my coupon at another Walgreens, where I got back the RR and still averaged a buck per box on Pop Tarts, which is a great price!

    • That is totally incorrect for the manager to say. Must not be a couponer! Of course, I can say, being a manager he/she doesn’t run a register enough to know, but when you use a MFC at a Wags, it does not affect the RR. However, some locations have said that theirs didn’t roll. It might just be a regional thing…

    • Anonymous says:

Maybe the rolling RR are regional. Bummer that it didn’t work.

    • Just curious??? When you say month long rr for the Coppertone sunscreen do you mean April or May. Aren’t they bogo right now? and use 2 of the Q’s from the ss If so does that mean $8.99 use 2 1.00 off ss Q’s and get $3.00 back in RR so essentially $3.99 for 2. I ask because We need sunscreen and have been waiting for a deal. TIA Dahhhhh posted this is the wrong place. My eyse are playing tricks on me. Sorry…

    does CVS do rolling rewards?

    • Anonymous says:

If you mean can you use the extra bucks from one transcation on the same item on a second transcation and get a second eb yes- However if the limit for the Extra bucks for the item you are buying is 1 (per household) you will not get a second EB. Example. Shampoo is 3.99 with a $3.00 EB, if the limit is 1 on the extrabucks you will only get 1 $3.00 eb. You can take the $3.00 from your 1st transcation and use it to buy any other products or more shampoo. Hope that helps

You can click the “Find My Store” tab and go to CVS where you can find the “CVS 101″ tab!

I was so happy to see this post about the pop tarts. I read a post on another bloggers site and they reported that they were free because they were using an RR and getting an RR:( I tried letting the blogger know that it was not a correct senario, however they just deleted my comment:(

    I love your blog!

RR for Pop Tarts didn’t rollover here in western Kentucky.

At my Walgreens and the Walgreens in the surrounding area we just can’t have more coupons than items.  So in this case we would be using two coupons for two items.  I know the MC attaches to both items, but it is still not more coupons than items.  The cashiers at my Walgreens are real sticklers too, and are always trying to give me false information, but this rule they actually follow.

  13. I was completely excited to see this and we literally rushed out the door to go to our Wags and pick up some of the pop-tarts! I love the Strawberry NutriGrain bars too though, so we were curious if it was going to roll for those too…it did! Also, at our preferred Wags location, they have the new registers that were installed about a week ago. When we were there just a few minutes ago, we didn’t have to use a filler even though the old registers required a filler. I don’t know if this is going to work at all locations but worth a shot, right? I was really excited with the rolling register rewards on both products and no fillers.

    • Anonymous says:

I don’t understand what new registers have to do with fillers. Can you explain that because I will be extremely excited too!! Are you saying they reduced the amt of the RR down to the amount of your purchase, like CVS does??

      • No, I don’t have a clue what caused it, if in fact it was because of the new register system my location has or just some sort of a fluke, but when I bought the NutriGrain Strawberry bars, I bought two for five, used the 1.00 of two MFC and the 2.00 RR from Kellogg’s off of a previous purchase. No filler was necessary, but reason, I’m totally uncertain of. (I’m a two-year employee, that being said, also want to note that nothing I express is in anyway or part endorsed, produced, or affiliated with Walgreens, only speak for myself and personal experiences not the company, etc.) My transaction looked like this-

4.24 (2 NutriGrain Bars…this is with my employee discount.)
        -1.00/2 NutriGrain Bars MFC
-2.00 Kellogg’s RR (From previous transaction.)
So, I paid a total of 1.24 for two boxes.
I only know our old registers, would take the 1.00/2 MFCs and attach to both items and therefore require the use of a filler. However, it didn’t happen this time and we’ve only had the new registers a few days, so it was my first time seeing something like this. (I also just got over a cold and finally made it there to get what I was planning on.)

      • Anonymous says:

This must be a fluke because we have the new registers here at all my Wags (I’m in IL)  and they will not let you use more coupons than the # of items.   Enjoy it while it lasts though :-)

    • Anonymous says:

      Yay!

  14. Does it only roll if you buy poptarts?  Or will it work with the Nutri-Grain bars as well?

  15. Does anyone know, can you roll the coupon into the other kelloggs offer and still get a rr?

    • Guadalupe says:

i bought kellog’s nutrigrain bars it gave me $2 rr’s back and accidentally used it on the kellog’s raisin bran cereal and it gave me another $2rr i wasn’t expecting it but i got it

    • Anonymous says:

We didn’t try any of the other Kellogg’s products…. yet!

    • Jaime says:

I bought 2 pop tarts & 2 nutri-grain bars in one transaction and I only got one $2 RR, instead of two $2 RR.  I had a mental lapse!  I’m taking them back today & hopefully they will adjust.  I also bought the Coppertone sunscreen in that same transaction and used the $3 RR from the Coppertone I bought last week (month long RR) and it still printed another $3 RR, so that one must be rolling too?

      •  Just Curious???? when You say Month long RR do you mean thru the month of May. I ask because we neeeed sunscreen right now and have been waiting for a deal. I think there is a ss Q and they are on bogo right now combine that and the rr would make an awesome deal. Like $3.99 for 2 of them. TIA

      • Anonymous says:

        Yay for another rolling RR!

  16. Anonymous says:

I just saw the amount- (Forgive me if I am wrong) For the second transcation the 1 off makes it 2/$4 then you use the $2.00 rr from the first wouldn’t you pay $2.00 plus filler?

    • Anonymous says:

yea, it says 1.00 each so that would be $2 total
      +tax and filler

      • Anonymous says:

I read it Pay $1.00 (meaning after coupon and $2.00 rr) thats why I was confused. You would pay $2.00 plus filler and get back $2.00-

  17. Anonymous says:

i thought that you couldnt use a rr on the same item( in the next transaction) you received it from? i bought razors once and accidently used the razor rr on the next razor, it didnt give me another one :(

    • that is why the title of the post states “rolling register reward” it is referring to us being able to “roll” the RR from the first transaction on the second transaction and still receive another one (not usually the case  as stated in the paragraph below the picture of poptarts :o)

    • Anonymous says:

You’re right you cannot use the same RR for the same item and expect to get another one. Except, where in this case the RR is “Rolling” which means it will actually allow you to do just that :)

    • Lily U Yu says:

my little bro works at walgreens and he said that with the old register system you can use the pay with same rr and still get another one rr

      • Anonymous says:

my walgreens is using the new systems and they worked there for me, so they both must be doing it on certain things :)

    • Brandie Tryban says:

Typically, that is correct. But, sometimes the RR rolls allowing you to purchase it, get your RR, and turn around and use the RR to purchase another exact item and get back another RR. It is always helpful to hear if they are rolling before attempting to find out on your own which RR’s are rolling and which ones are not….. just to save yourself a headache! :)

    • Anonymous says:

Yes, normally that is the case, which is why we get so excited when we discover these “rolling Register Rewards.” They don’t happen very often.

  18. I thought you couldn’t REDEEM an RR and RECEIVE an RR in the same transaction? Am I wrong?

    • Anonymous says:

Yes, normally that is the case, which is why we get so excited when we discover these “rolling Register Rewards.” They don’t happen very often.

  19. Anonymous says:

You don’t actually have to buy the filler as long as you have just as many items as coupons.

  20. Why do you need to grab a filler item? Just curious.

    •  Typically at Walgreens, coupons that are a certain dollar amount off of 2 items counts as 2 coupons.  So, in the 2nd transaction, you’d have the $1.00/2 coupon and the RR which would wind up being 3 coupons on only 2 boxes of PopTarts.  That’s why you’d need a filler item.

    • Anonymous says:

Since the coupon being used is $1.00 off of 2 boxes, the coupon will attach to both boxes and you will need a filler so you can us the RR.

      • Anonymous says:

On the second transaction, wouldn’t you have to pay $2 plus filler item and get $2 RR back? Am I missing something? Thank you for your help!

        • Anonymous says:

Yes! I asked that earlier ( poptarts become 2/$4.00 – 2rr) Pay $2.00 plus cost of filler :)

  21. Anonymous says:

Question- What should you say if the cashier says you wont get the reward for the second item if you use the 2rr from the first ( if the cashiers don’t know its rolling)

  22. Anonymous says:

So excited about this! With my kids getting out of school for summer in two weeks, these will come in handy! Thanks Kcl!!!
