Let’s Shop with The Krazy Coupon Lady: Week of 5/13

I honestly can say that I am not overjoyed with this week’s deals at the drugstores.  I am liking the Target and Safeway deals the best.   I am crossing my fingers that some new deals will pop up through the week that will impress me more.  Oh well, it’s been a long time since I felt this way so I shouldn’t complain.

I was so excited to shop at CVS again but they really disappointed me this week!  What are your thoughts about this week?  Anything you are excited about?  Check back on Wednesday and I bet I’ll have found something that I liked.  I always do find something!  That’s what I love about couponing –it gets better as the week progresses!  Stay tuned.

  1. i had a horrible time at rite aid today, they tried to tell me i couldnt use the $2 off of veet in ad coupon more than once. they said they “could do it this time only” and im definitely not allowed..is that true?! i told them it has to be like the walgreens and it should apply but they seriously cut 4 of the coupons out of 4 different ads -____- NOT NECESSARY!! and i could tell that the one cashier was irritated by me and wanted to do anything in her power to stop me from getting my 8 dollars! eight dollars will make me put everything back, im sure she wouldnt want to do a return either, ugh…i stopped couponing for a few months ago but now im starting to go broke again and things like this make me feel like im begging for money and its not worth it!

  2. I have been Krazy couponing for a little over a year now. What I have noticed is the value of the MQ are lower in value. We can still get some good deals out there! Just last week at our local grocery store I matched a store coupon with a MQ and got 3 pk of Dove ice c ream bars for only $1! Yay for .33 bars!

  3. Guest says:

Hi ~ I’m pretty new at this I’m hoping someone can answer a question for me.  When printing a coupon on coupons.com that state “redeemable at” and states a specific store is that coupon only good at the stated store even thou it’s a m/c q?  For example, I guess next week CVS is suppose to have Cherry Ocean Spray on sale for BOGO and there’s a BOGO coupon on coupons.com but it states “redeemable @ Walmart”, so can I use that coupon at CVS to get both for free?  Thanks =)

  4. Jasmine says:

I LIVE IN tx n my family dollar has the V05 shampoos n conditioners on sale for .75 cents i just bought 6 and used 2 of my 1.00 off 3 coupons and paid 2.50 :)

  5. I tried going to Safeway this morning for the .99 colgate toothpaste and it was not on sale.  Are store sales regional?  I am in Denver.

  6. Grant Horton says:

Also getting the Starbucks Refresher drinks from Walgreens as MM’s was nice!

  7. Grant Horton says:

I really liked the Right Guard Body Wash deals.  I printed out a ton of those coupons when they were available in various places and stockpiled these!

  8. Beth Vanderq says:

Just an FYI for anyone who is still looking to score a good deal at Wags with the Kotex U tampons.  I went back a couple of days ago to take advantage (because I only ended up with one the first week), and the RRs are not rolling.  Apparently Kotex is no longer issuing RRs, but walgreens gave me rebate forms and said I could send it in to get my coupons.  Kotex is also having issues filling in the orders and it looked as if they will be out of Kotex tampons for a little bit.

    • Anonymous says:

I bought the kotex today and got the RR without any problems. I did not try to roll them though. The first week or so I had trouble with them being in stock but there were pleanty today. I am shopping in Oregon so that could be the difference.

  9. Anonymous says:

the cashier at CVS not let me use $3/2 pantene today. any one have same problem?

  10. I can’t find the $3/6 coupon anywhere nor could I find the $2/1 Schick Hydro Razor…please help me if you can.

  11. Hanni Thoma says:

I have a question regarding the Rite Aid Schick Hydro Silk Razor coupon.  The Rite Aid coupon says at the bottom “Limit one per customer”–does this mean I can’t use 3 of the store coupons and combine them with my $4.00 off SS coupons?  Is it possible that I could hop around to other Rite Aids and only use one coupon at each store, while my 30 dollars adds up so I can get the $10.00 back?  If anyone’s had any problems with this please let me know.  Also, I called my Rite Aid store and asked them about combining the Pantene B1G1 coupon with the 3.00 off two products for their 2/$7.00 deal (with $2.00 +up rewards), and they said it was no problem!!  So I got 4 Pantene products, spent $1.00 OOP and got $4.00 in +up back!

You may have figured this out already, as your post was 13hrs ago, but you just need to do 3 seperate transactions (can be done at the same store. I did mine in succession. but that will depend on your store.) Just use the same wellness card each time. Use 1 in-ad and one $4/1 ss coupon for each transaction. The razors will track and the $10 up should print after you purchase the 3rd depending on if you have the automatic discounts. If you do you could just add a shaving cream to the scenario. Hope this helps.

Not impressed this week or next’s.  Although I am excited for the deals coming 5/27 at Walgreens.  I see a $2MM.

    • Anonymous says:

how do u see those deals beforehand?

      • Anonymous says:

I’m not sure if I’m allowed to post about it.  But its not a secret, everyone knows about the site that has the ads in advance.  Just keep your Ecotrin coupons, that’s all I’m saying.

I am goggling and not having luck so if anyone wants to risk telling me where to go..ayudame por favor

    • Anonymous says:

Would you mind sharing a little sneak peek??????????

  13. Anonymous says:

Kim, at my Target they were.
    $1.29×6= $7.74-$3 (1 man. coupon)=$4.74-$3 (3 Target coupons)=
    $1.74 for 6 bottles  (.29/ea)

If my math is right, the above should be about what you pay when all is said and done, not including tax, of course.

    • I was wondering about the Target store coupon for the Dial hand soap as well. Have you ever had issues with the cashiers accepting more than 1 Target store coupon in the same transaction, since it states “Limit one coupon per guest”?

  14. Anonymous says:

I started couponing a year ago and used to go almost everyday because the deals were unbelievable.  In the last months things have gotten awful.  Things that used to be free – like body wash, toothpaste, shampoo – now cost a dollar or two.  I can get the same deals at Costco without all the hassle of coupons!!!  I am really bummed because it was so much fun to come home with bags of free and cheap items.  Now I do not even bother to cut out the coupons and put them in my binder because I never use them.  I pine for the good old days!!!!  Is it just me or are the deals getting worse?

I agree with you.  I, too have been couponing for well over a year, and have gradually noticed the deals are becoming more sparse.  While I still get good deals, they are not nearly as plentiful as before.  I think the companies and stores are starting to lose money because the coupon redemption rates are going up so fast.  I have noticed that coupon values are becoming lower, and their expiration dates are getting closer and closer.  I hope that the “golden age of coupons” isn’t coming to an end….

I agree that it is harder to get some things for free but I also think that I am getting a more varied group of products at a good price than before.  The biggest change I’ve noticed is that the coupon prices are lower.  There are still great deals out there though and I usually pay about $20.00 for over $100.00 -$200.00 worth of product!

So funny to hear you guys talk about the slow weeks. In the past couple months since I started couponing I have only felt like there was maybe 1-2 slow weeks…..And usually when you said it was a slow week I thought it was a good week and vice versa sometimes. I am still building my stockpile though and have a family of 7 so its hard to keep things like cereal in stock at all sometimes.

where are the match-ups for this week? its like they disappeared from the site…under each store’s page, i am only seeing last week’s match ups…please help!

From my 2 yrs experience on KCL, they usually get the new sales up a day, maybe 2 days after the sales start. They do post quite a few upcoming sales a few days prior to Sunday, but not usually the complete list. We have to remember, these ladies have a family and life other than this site. After a while tho…u will get the knack of matching your coupons with the sales, and be able to be ahead of the game :o) I love this site…..they by far are the most detailed of all the sites I have checked out. I have noticed, however, that someone other than the original KCL ladies must be posting as there are many errors. This never happened before, it has to be someone else. But I do NOT at all want to sound ungrateful, as I very much appreciate all the work it must take to keep this site going. Just sayin’.

i think you misunderstood my question.  for a while there, the match-ups had dispeared after they had been posted, which usually doesn’t happen.  now they are back though.

      • Anonymous says:

I apologize for misunderstanding :o) I did not see them disappear. Probably wasn’t logged on at the time. I wonder if they disappear temporarily when they are working on the site? Hmmm….just a thought.

That is now fixed.  Sorry for the confusion.

I had a good week this week, stocked up on pull ups and wipes at cvs, using my cvs card and my mothers card :) also stocking up on the kotex tampons at walgreens with 3 girls in my house we always need them.  also at walgreens, happy to have the witch hazel, its a great facial cleanser and astringent…better than most cosmetics. (same component that is used in tucks pads for hemorrhoids…cheaper than buying tucks, just poor some on tp and it works..I know kind of disgusting, but much cheaper :)  also, My family camps all the time, so I stocked up on lanacane.  pretty good week for me.  wish I could do better with groceries.  I can get personal care, medications, and vitamins for almost free, but can’t say the same for groceries.  oh did well with the bengay and tylenol precise coupon at walgreens.  getting older…need that muscle cream.  i agree with you all this upcoming week looks blah, hopefully next week will bring good deals….good time to stock up on sunclock.  happy shopping!

Yes I agree as well. I have been kinda disappointed in the ads the last few weeks. Although I say that every week and then end up getting all sorts of great stuff like you say so I guess by the end of the week We might all be singing a different tune :)

I’ve been disappointed with all of the stores the past couple of weeks. Thinking about trying Target for a change. I’ll need to read the coupon policy because I’ve never couponed there before. Still trying to understand Kmart, since all of the managers & cashiers don’t have a clue!

  20. I’m confused with the Deal going on with the Schick Hydro Silk Razor deal (Receive $3 addition RR when you buy a Schick Razor system AND corresponding Cartridges)
You listed:Schick Hydro Silk Razor $8.99Buy 1, Receive $3.00 Register RewardUse $4.00/1 Schick Hydro Silk Razor or Refill from SS 5/13 (exp 6/24)
Pay $4.99, Receive $3.00 Register Reward
Final Price: $1.99That means that the razor deal will automatically issue $3 RR when you buy the razor alone but you can get $3 RR if you buy the cartridges too? sorry it’s late n my allergies have my head in a fog

The only good thing I can see at CVS is the Lysol deal. I already went tonight and did it so I can get a break tomorrow. Glad I did too. They were almost out unless they just haven’t put out what they have yet. I bought 4 of the Lysol wipes, used a $4/$20, and 2 $1/2 Lysol wipes, paid $14, got $10 EB. So $1 each!

I will be going to Walgreens tomorrow to get a few of the Starbucks moneymaker drinks. Will probably keep the RR’s for the coke deal next week.

  23. Davina Lucas says:

    Sorry it’s a $7/2 or $5/1

  24. Davina Lucas says:

There is a $7/1 Centrum coupon on their website.

  25. Anonymous says:

Where do you get the “in ad” coupons?  From the paper or the store?

  26. Anonymous says:

Yes, I agree this is a poor week at the drugstores.  Some solid deals on Starbucks drinks though, which always makes me happy.
Poor week at my local Giant Eagle and Meijer, too!

    •  It always seems Giant Eagle has a few Great weeks and then 1 really bad one. I won’t know what to do after I no longer have $1.25 diet pepsi and sierra mist:) And that Digorno and various other nestle product deal last week, I am now saturated with enough Coffee Creamer (and my fav btw) to drink a barrel each morning.

  27. I am a little disappointed with the body wash prices. When I started couponing a little over 2 years ago this was one of the things I regularly got for free. So I resigned myself to the fact that I would never pay for it again. However, my stock pile is dwindling in this area and I am having a rough time replacing it with something that cost $2.00 or even $1.00. I was going to do the softsoap deal at Cvs and Walgreens, But I did not receive the softsoap coupons:( Oh well You win some you loose some I guess.

    • Anonymous says:

No worries, I am sure somebody will post a “how to” on how to make your own bodywash by mixing toothpaste, witch hazel, and some other commonly free item. :)

      • Anonymous says:

homemade body wash is very simple to make. All it is, is grated bar soap, water and glycerin. I make it all the time and use the same recipe for hand soap.I also make my own laundry soap and fabric softner. You wouldnt believe how easy and how much cheaper it is. Fabric softner is 6 cups water 3 cups vinegar and a bottle of hair conditioner. I add about 1/4-1/2 cup of snuggle to it and cant even smell the vinegar.Good way to use up that free conditioner!!!!
