Walgreens Extreme Couponing (week of 5/20): $5.00 or Less

Welcome to this post where we will lay out some extreme couponing deals that will cost you about $5.00 each week! First, here’s everything you need to know about shopping at Walgreens:

Walgreens allows one manufacturer coupon and one store coupon per product. You may use Walgreen’s Register Rewards in addition to these coupons.  The Register Rewards print like a Catalina on a little machine near the cash register.  The most important thing to remember when coupon shopping at Walgreens is that you have to have as many items to purchase as you have coupons, including any Register Rewards you want to use.  We often use “filler” (cheap, extra items) so that we have enough items to purchase.

Before shopping at Walgreens, you might want to review the Walgreen’s How To Video. Walgreens is certainly the hardest drugstore to shop, but it has the best deals!  What I like most is that you can repeat the deals and get more product.  The limits are just one per transaction, so you can get more than one item–just don’t clear the shelves!!  Here’s a link to the coupon policy.

Hi, I am very new to couponing at walgreens. I bought the aveeno this week . I was suppose to get a $5 RR for purchasing 2 or more aveeno products and I didn’t. Is there a  card that I have to have in order to get the RR? How do I receive them?

Can you get RR to be lowered if it is only 1 penny difference?? The sleep sheets were $4.99 and i had $5 RR; could i ask them to lower the MQ? i know i can get a cheap filler but sometimes the cheapest filler makes my 1 cent difference to a dollar + difference with tax:(

  3. Did any of you guys’ Walgreens tax the pre-coupon amount? Because I surely did not know they did that. Combine that new found knowledge with the fact that they were sold out of the Sleep Sheets and I ended up being almost $5 over budget.

I don’t know of a store that doesn’t tax the pre-coupon amount…I always pay the full tax amount

I was about to ask this too!! i have to cross over state line to this WAGS that always has everything in stock i noticed that when i bought 1 sleep sheet and an 8cent filler, (i used RR from 2 weeks ago )my amount before tax was 10cents but rang up over $1 with tax.

  4. On transaction 2, where is the extra dollar off coming from?  4.99 + 4.50 + .30 = $9.79

as someone said the walgreens company is working on getting a card to track the number of things purchased … i am an employee and love coupons. people that clear the shelves is what makes us now limit them to one or two items of the free with register rewards items.

I skipped Wags.  There was nothing spectacular I wanted.  Waiting for next week’s sale.

My local store now has signs by the featured items that say you may only purchase a maximum of two of the items per day to allow others to get the deals too. The only exception is Saturday night before the deal expires. This just started last week.

My Walgreens now has signs that say you can only buy 2 of each item with a coupon per day except on Saturday.

Just to throw it out there the week the witch hazel was on sale I tried to do 2 transactions to get 2 of them and the cashier told me I could not do that because I had to leave some for everyone else(the shelf was full). SO I went to the WALGREENS DOWN THE STREET and got 2 more lol! This has only happened at the one store, has this happened to anyone else?

  11. Thank you KCL! Good Stuff this week at walgreens!

In the second transaction–why do you need to have a filler item? there are 3 products and only 2 coupons. so why a filler?
