just had a quick question about Rite Aid…. i always have trouble with Up+ rewards printing or getting the right product that generates the Up+ rewards … and i usually “roll” my rewards but sometimes i get even more confused!

so my question is, if something is $2 Up+ rewards, limit 2, if i buy both in the same transaction 2 $2 Up+ rewards should print right? (so $4 worth of Up+rewards)? -thanks

  2. Andrea De La Garza says:

The purex coupons say “limit one per shopping trip”  so how were you able to use two? I printed the coupons as soon as you posted it but they read “one per purchase” and “one like coupon per shopping trip”… So I’m confused on this, because that was an excellent deal on detergent!

  3. Edith Chaves says:

just wanted to ask if this is in some policy or fine print….so at rite aid,  i tried returning a simple toothbrush that i had used a coupon for (i got the wrong one)

I paid sales tax on the original price but when they did the refund rite aid only refunded me as if i paid the sales tax after the coupon which i didnt! It was so annoying… the ice cream i had also bought was melting!! And the first cashier i had was so mean & rude!! i sware these people just dont like that we use coupons!!

so they gave me back 6 cents less than what i paid! its only 6 cents but still why would they stay with any extra cents i should have been refunded for!!

  4. so i did the suave deal at rite aid and didnt get the rewards b/c i was 12c off.. is my only option to take everything back? they wont give me my coupons  that i used (the bogo free ones) back either will they?

    • Anonymous says:

Because everything you purchase is recorded through your card (like when the limit is “one”), I think if you just purchase enough to put you over the amount for the reward, it should print out.  Another words, your purchase is tracked through the card, same as CVS.  Joann

    • Edith Chaves says:

no they wont give you anything back! and if you try getting your money back they give you less than what you paid for.

rite aid did that to me but all i bought was a toothbrush with a .75 cents off coupon. They refunded me as if i had paid for the tax after the coupon when i actually paid for the tax on the regular price!

  5. I dont get this. You paid $16.94 at Walgreens. I know that you got register rewards at the end, but you still paid out of pocket more than the $.98. And you have to count one or the other. For example, if you pay $5 for medicine  and get a $4 register reward and use the register reward for a snack, you can not say that both the medicine only cost $1 AND the snack was free. You paid the $5. So either the medicine costs $1 after RR OR the snack was free after you paid the $5 for the medicine. I kept following your posts about things being free and so cheap, but I was still shelling out $100 a week for things before the RR and things. I just wanted to clarifiy that it isn’t exactly as it seems. I love couponing! But it is a little different math than posted. :)

I agree with you. I we are still spending money upfront in order to get something later for free. And both things are not free. People tend to make that mistake like you mentioned. When a friend says how little to nothing they spent I always aske well how much did you spend to get those rewards and then I say thats how much it cost you for your stuff.  I don’t go crazy getting everything just because I get  reward  like I use to .

      • Edith Chaves says:

so true!! my mom always thinks im getting everything for free when really its like im paying for my rewards lol

.. and i always find myself buying things just to get the extra bucks!! lol

    • Edith Chaves says:

i realized this too!! i was like..hmm i think im spending more than saving lol unless its a store that i am really buying something i  NEED every week.

like one time some cough syrup was $6 and $6 EB and i made my sister buy it bc i told her its free!! and she was so mad at me bc she was only at cvs buying 3 pepsi’s that would have cost her less than $4 but since i made her buy the cough syrup to pay for the sodas she ended having to get gum and other stuff to make her total get up to $6 to use the EB’s  when at the end of the day all she wanted to buy was the 3 sodas

…but i like doing the EB deals if i already have EB to cover some of the price

  6. Went to Walgreens last night, wanted to buy 2 sleep sheets, 2 kotex tampons, the oasis mouthwash, and 2little swimmers. I felt VERY stupid all of a sudden, I could not figure out the best way to do my transactions so that I was spending the least amount OOP, and doing it having to switch up the transactions so that I could keep using my RR on the next transaction. I am SO BAD AT THIS!!!!

  7. Jen G says:

I know this is probably a long shot, but I figured I’d ask anyway just in case. I only have one Skinny Cow MQ, however I also have one free product MQ (from a facebook contest a while back). Would I be able to use both of those MQ and combine it with the Walgreens Q (and just have the overage apply to the other box)? I hope this makes sense…

  8. miguel says:

i went to rite aid and tried to do the wax strip for 5.99 with in ad coupon and for some reason the system would not let me stack it with a manufacturer coupon. they checked and they said it was because their in ad coupon was also a manufacturers coupon.

  9. I went to target on Monday and there was no Hawaiian Tropic anywhere in the store. They had the Banana Boat, but not such a great deal if you are buying 2 of those. I am hoping they restock before the end of the week.

  10. jason says:

i have to go back to target tomorrow as i didn’t get the gift card from the banana boat deal (i think it was because there was a free lip balm attached to it and had a different upc) and didn’t remember because i already got 1 gift card from a different deal in the same transaction.  i also noticed on my reciept that the cashier didn’t scan 3 of the coupons i gave her.

will have to explain the situation with customer service.  i think i should be ok with the gift card, but is it a lost cause to try to get the money back from the unscanned coupons?

    • Anonymous says:

My target is great about giving me money back when coupons are missed.  Just explain the situations and what you believe was missed.

  11. Rose Spice says:

awesome job. I brought the Hawaiian Tropic too. However, I brought the 8oz ones and it came up as $7.99. I was bummed out because I thought it was supposed to be $6.49. Now I realized that it should be the 6oz ones. Anyways, I got my $5 gift card and I don’t like to return stuff because it is such a hassle to me. Btw, I really like all the things you brought this week and the picture looks fantastic.

  12. Kim Godwin says:

I totally wish you would lay out your transactions for us.I am terrible at figuring that out.Need walk throughs..lol.I have almost given up because I just never get it right.

  13. jen furlong says:

Just had a question reguarding policy @ Walgreens….
    Today I bought the 18ct. Kotex Tampons @ $3.99 I used $1/1  paid $2.99 and recieved RR:$3
In a separate transaction I bought another !8ct. kotex tampons for $3.99
I planned on using my $3RR and my MQ $1/1
But I was told that the RR is considered a MQ and I could not combine it with my other MQ for $1/1
Does anyone know if this is true???

    • Anonymous says:

Yes, but you can buy something inexpensive like candy(aka a filler) so then you’d have two products and two manu coupons (RR and real manu coupon)

    • Anonymous says:

Jen, you should not use a RR earned for buying the kotex on another kotex.  When you use the same products RR you won’t earn another one.  If you don’t care about earning another RR use a filler product (something small) to use your RR on.

  14. Anonymous says:

Just curious.  How many transactions did you do in one visit at Walgreen’s?  Our cashiers get really upset if you do more than two.  Did you make more than 1 or 2 visits?

  15. Edith Chaves says:

just wanted to share…… since about 2 or 3 weeks ago my cvs (i live in so cal) had a smart source coupon machine by the toothpaste, they were $1 off any aquafresh or sensodine product… right now ralphs has aquafresh toothpaste on sale for $1 so free!! :)

the cvs i went to today still had that coupon machine,… oh and albertsons has them for $1 too

  16. Rose Deacon says:

My little shopping trip to CVS looks weak compared to that. LOL…. Only got what I need though. Great shopping….Thanks for showing us the way to the Samurai through coupons. LOL

  17. Did a lot of the same deals you did…at Rite-Aid i got the Sammy hair dye for $6.00 and got $6.00 back in up-rewards…i had a coupon we printed a while back for $2.00 off that is good until 6/10/2012….yay so free!!!!!

  18. I think the math on your Sauve lotion deal is off…if it is spend $12, get $4 back and the lotion is $3/ea and you bought 4, then you use a B2G1 Free, that makes it spend $9 get back $4, leaving you with $5 or  $1.25 each

  19. Question if the Bananaboat and the Hawaiian tropic are 6.49 each wouldn’t that be 12.98 – 1 cpn -1 cpn =10.98 after cpns       where does 8.98 come from?

  20. I went to Target today and bought the sunscreen in the banana boat and got 2 and got no gift card. :(

    • Anonymous says:

That happened to me as well, luckily I noticed and said something.  The cashier had someone run back to look at the shelf and she said that for some reason the 20 and 50 SPF were working but the 30 SPF was not.  She had the cashier give me a $5.00 credit since I hadn’t totaled out yet.  I would have been so mad if i didn’t notice.  Take your receipt in next time you go and see if there is anything they can do.  They should be able to adjust it.

    • Edith Chaves says:

that happened to me one time with razors and they checked the ad and told the cashier to manually do it & instead she said it would be easier to just take of the $5 from my total so she did that :) maybe u should go show them ur receipt

  21. Yaret says:

What is the deal with the Schick razors? I would love to know so I  can get some as well!!

  22. You didn’t mention the Schick razors that are in the pic. Did you get them at CVS?

  23. Great job! You have taught me so much klc! Thanks to you I’ve learned to stretch the money I’m blessed with in this horrible economy

  24. What is the sale for the razors?
