It is simply amazing how many absolutely free things you can get every week!  To keep you up to date with all the free deals, each week we publish a post outlining the freebies and moneymakers.  Of course, free deals are extremely popular so you may run into times that the shelves are empty.  Don’t forget to get a rain check when that happens.  I love rain checks because then I never have to miss out on a free deal! Also, ask your store when they restock, and plan to shop that day if you miss the deals earlier in the week!

These deals are valid Sunday 5/20– Saturday 5/26.  Check back through the week as we update this post!

If there are any Chicagoland couponers who can provide some insight, it’d be appreciated. I moved from Denver recently where the prices are better and all Safeways double. With Chicago being LOND (land of no doubles) and no Rite Aids, and most prices listed on this site NOT the same at my stores, I am having a harder time couponing. Only bonus is the CVS coupon machine, which we didn’t have. Any pointers? Stores that double regularly? Stores in the burbs with better prices? I’m happy to drive a little further to get better deals. Thanks in advance. Sorry for the random post, I didn’t know where else to ask.

    • I’m in the SW burbs.  Here’s the rundown on our not-so-wonderful selection of stores.  No doubling in Chicagoland, so just put that word out of your vocabulary right now.  Dominick’s is part of the Safeway family.  They have the highest overall prices of the stores here.  Look at the front page of their ad for 2 or 3 good deals every week and ignore the rest.  Your second highest prices will be at Jewel-Osco.  They’ll have a handful of good deals every week.  Again, stick to those deals and ignore the rest of the store.  To get those free/almost free deals (beside what you see here for CVS & Walgreens) you need to check out Ultra Foods and Food 4 Less (Kroger family).  Both of these stores have online ads and you can do a search for couponing blogs that cover these stores.  Ultra Foods allows 12 identical coupons per transaction and also accepts manufacturer coupons up to 30 days after expiration.  Some areas also have Fairplay stores, but I don’t have one so I can’t comment on them.  HTH

If we use the $5.00 off 2 for the Ecotrin the coupon would need to be adjusted right? (2/$3.00) Could we use 2 of the $1.50 of 1?
