  1. On Thursday I got an email from CVS telling me on Friday the Magic Coupon Machine would give me a 12 pack of Coke for $1.99 when you spend $10 or more. Plus I knew that I was $25 from the Beauty Club ECB

    4 Mascara: $8.89 (x2) + 4.44 (x2)=$26.66 plus tax
    1 Coke 12 pack=$1.99 plus tax & CRV

    Used 2 BOGO Qs for $7.50 each, 2 $1/1 Qs, 2 $4/12 and 1 Coke Qs

After taxes and CRV I paid $6.52 plus I’ll get $5 the next time I go in!

Hey everybody,i just noticed that on the PG insert in 6/3 summer savings rebate it says that you get $10.00 when you buy $20.00 worth of covergirl+ olay!!great rebate for those doing the cvs scenarios!!

Went to CVS today with my mom. Using my card, Mom’s card, and my sister’s card (I keep it on hand for situations such as these), we got 3 of the $4/$12 coupons. We got 6 mascaras. They used the 4/12 coupon, and the B1G1Free coupons and a couple extrabucks, we got them for free with some overage! Thanks for letting us know!

  4. I did this deal today and i got the 7.50 off :) making them .88 each. i had the 4/12 from the coupon machine

  5. sully says:

it wasn’t such a great deal for me ;0( the coupon took of the cheapest mascara 4.50 lucky for me i had the 4 off 12 purchase. still i had to pay 6 dollars out of pocket, but i wasn.t going to pay 6 for mascara so what i did was buy the crest mouthwash first get the 5 ecb and with that pay my mascara. So i ended up paying just 1 dollar tax for mascara only. and spended it all in all 7 bucks for mascara and mouthwash

  6. YAY! … got mine … although our store (checked 3 stores – san antonio) were on sale for 8.99, not 8.79… but still… not bad… I paid $1.98 for 2 (before tax) .. WOO HOO!

  7. Anonymous says:

Darn! They took the lesser amount for mine.  I should have read the fine print!

    • sully says:

it all depends on the system the store has some cvs take the full amount of coupon which was 7.40 o so. others take the cheapest one. and some got so lucky that it took off the 8.99 how i don’t know. If it makes you feel better they took off 4.50 out of mine not even the full coupon value but i did good ended up paying just tax after the store coupon 4 off 12 and an extracare buck i had. I hope to have better luck with bogos next time. Target for sure takes the full amount out of coupons. i will try to use my there instead

My CVS wouldn’t do this deal so I could end up paying such a little amount. I still came out of pocket appx. $4.40 for two of the mascara’s. Kind of a bummer because I wanted to get more than two of them.  :(  I guess at least I saved something though.

  9. Stephanie says:

Even though this is a ‘little’ shop I’m still so happy about the savings!  My mom bought nail polish for $4.29 so that’s why it says $4.96 after tax.
    So here’s how it went:  Mascara regular price- $8.89 x 2= $17.78                                                      -4.45 50% off second mascara
-4.00 CVS coupon for buying $12 of cosmetics                                                      -8.89 for free mascara using B1G1 coupon                                                      –  .86   20% off CVS coupon                                                   =    .44I’m not sure why my CVS took off the full value of the mascara instead of $7.50.  I asked my cashier and she told me it was fine. I figure she’d tell me if something was wrong. I hope everything goes well for everyone else! :)

I went to my local cvs today and i wasnt allowed to use the $1 off coupon with the buy 1 get 1 coupon:( oh well still bought  2 for $1.98..what a great deal:)  Also I scanned my card and recieved another 4 dollars off coupon. Any other great deals?

  11. Stephanie says:

I know this is a little shopping trip but I’m proud of myself!! :) I’m pretty sure this is how it breaks down.
Mascara regular price: $8.89 x 2:17.78                                                  -4.00 CVS coupon                                                  -4.45 50% off second mascara                                                  -8.89 for a free mascara                                        equals = .44 for two mascaras!   (I’m not sure why my CVS took off the full price of the mascara off instead of 7.50, I asked my cashier about it and she told me I was fine.)

  12. Worked great for me! The register automatically took off the full price one. Thanks KCL! I don’t see why they wouldn’t take off the up to $7.50 as they are getting reimbursed for it any way,

Went today, got $4/$12, used B1G1 (cashier entered max amount $7.50) and used $1/1.  Great deal!! thanks for letting us know!

Today I checked my extra care account online and CVs sent me a coupon for $1.50 off speed stick power. I bought one for $2.99 took off the $1.50 and got $2.00 extra bucks. I used those toward the mascara deal. Paid $1.08…wohoo

  16. Anonymous says:

I did this deal several times (no, I definitely did not clear the shelves…there were more than plenty left over) and it worked out perfectly :D

Those $4.00/$12.00 coupons keep printing everyday, so it makes it easy to stock up!

    • Anonymous says:

I’m waiting for restock day…lol.  I went on Sunday and Monday to get these.  There were 2 left I believe, the rest were not LashBlast Volume, they were LashBlast Luxe, LashBlast 24 hr, etc (which they had a lot of).

When I did go on Sunday there were only about 4.  There is another couponer I see frequently on Sundays at CVS and Walgreens since its next door.  I wonder how much items she bought at CVS, I got there at 715am and she was already there (they open at 7am).  Then I went to Walgreens at 8am, which is opening time and I still see her car at CVS.  I did 2 transactions at Walgreens (only got what I really needed…All detergent) and the cashier was like “that’s it?”.  I said “yep, I do see another couponer here somewhere”.  Then she goes “Oh her, she does about 6 transactions usually, but it’s worth it to save money”.

      • Anonymous says:

I’m sure there are plenty of couponer’s in my area…that’s why I’m thankful for rainchecks, lol.

Once I saw a lady with a whole cart full of deodorants at Publix! As a couponer, I was even shocked to see that, lol. That definitely will save her money, but for me, I know sales come and go and I never go that crazy when stocking up.

      • sully says:

every cvs i went had like 40 in the shelves i guess no heavy couponing in my area.

        • Anonymous says:

There were tons of mascara, especially those that are not specified on the coupon (lashblast luxe, 24hrs, etc).  I just wanted the LashBlast Volume waterproof mascara.  I went today and they had the same amount of waterproof as they did on Monday =(.  I asked one of the cashier who was stocking inventory and he said they have tons of mascara.  He went upstairs to look and came back with the regular ones, he said they don’t have any waterproof ones.  So I just grabbed those instead.

  17. I was able to do this deal no problem at one CVS, but was treated like a thief at the other CVS. I was told by the shift supervisor that he will allow me to do it this time, but I am not allowed to do it again. He was bothered by the fact I only paid $1.04 for 2 mascaras like I personally stole something from him. Thankfully this is an isolated issue as I always have such good experiences at CVS. My nieces and daughter were thrilled with getting cheap mascara!

  18. BYT says:

I got my mascara… I dont even use mascara but I can give them away. LOL. I got the $7.50 off on the BOGO q, used the $4 off $12 q and $1 any CG product q. Paid under $2 for 2 including tax. Forgot to apply that $1 q toward the 1st transaction but was still a good deal. Going back tonight to see if I can get another print out of that $4 q from my card and my “husband”‘s card. Have another $4 q but I’m gonna use that toward Revlon or Maybelline deals for the Extra Bucks. I’m collection extrabucks for diaper deal. 6 more weeks to go and I might not be able to coupon as much once this lil guy comes!!!

    • Anonymous says:

I never used mascara either until I got one for free.  Then I started liking it, when I heard there would be a coupon for this product, I was like “yay”.  My friend told me this is what she uses and it looks great on her.

    • Edith Chaves says:

haha i dont use mascara either!! but got 4 mascaras for my friends and aunt :)

  19. Anonymous says:

I’m a little confused on why you can’t use the $4 off $12, B1G1 free coupon AND the $1/1 in the same transaction.  The B1G1 gives you the free one with no discount on the first so the $1/1 would give you a discount on the first, then the $4 off $12 is a store coupon so you’re only using two man. coupons on two items.  How is this any different than the Pantene deal recently?  Can someone explain?  :)

    • Anonymous says:

You can use all three coupons, but it will all depend on your store/cashier. Many readers have been posting that one of the coupons will “beep” when using both the B1G1 coupon along with the $1/1 coupon. If this is the case, then most cashiers won’t let you use both coupons. YMMV!

    • Edith Chaves says:

i think its because the B1G1 coupon applies to 2 products already… even though you have 2 products…

…just like you wouldn’t use a $/off coupon for a product in combination with a $/off 2 coupon even though that would be using 2 coupons for 2 items

      • Anonymous says:

Thanks!  I totally understand your second example with the $ off 2, I’m just still not so clear on the first example.  The B1G1 is giving you a discount when you buy two but the discount is only applied to the second one so I’m not sure how the coupon discounts you on the first product as well.  Thanks for sharing!!  :)

    • sully says:

yes you can use all of them. its just like the pantene deal. aah but it all depends on the cashier or managers. some accept it others dont. I had no problem using both for the biore deal and pantene. Until one day a manager was the cashier and he gave such a big problem, in the end he did not let me use my 1/1 with my bogo. i will keep trying using a 1/1 coupons with bogo coupons the worst that it can happen is that they tell me i can’t use it.

  20. I paid  8.89 for my first, then 4.44 for the second. My manager took the $7.50 off and I had my $4.00 (CVS coupon machine generated) off of $12.00, made my 2 mascaras 92 cents each!!!! Love it!

  21. Question, when I take the mascara’s up to the register and hand the cashier the $4/12 coupon first then the B1G1 coupon second, do they know they’re suppose to take up to 7.50 off? Because I thought they would just make the 4.49 half off one free? Do I tell them it’s up to 7.50 off ?

  22. tom last says:

would some one please break down the steps and explain how to get .84

    • Edith Chaves says:

they come out to .84 cents each if at your CVS the mascara’s are 8.79 each on sale for buy 1 get 1 50% off and when you use the B1G1 free coupon they take off the full value ($7.50)… but it depends on your CVS because some registers will not automatically take the max value they’ll only take the price of the cheaper mascara off.

  23. Just wanted to share how this worked at my cvs store. First I asked the store manager how he would work the coupon with the sale, he read it and said well we can see how it works out. So I went and picked up the items. they were regular price at 8.49.
    so it looked like this
    8.49 + 4.24 = 12.73
    - 4.00/12.00 =8.73
    -bogo coupon 7.50 = 1.23
    -1.00/1 = .23 plus tax for 2

  24. heather v says:

My store took off the 8.99 for my b1g1 coupon and I had the 4.00 off coupon.  So I got both for .50 cents.

  29. Heidi Cole says:

rebat doesn’t include th mascara!!!!    boo hoo!!!!

  30. I love my CVS…Their are a couple great cashiers there that will do whatever they can to save you the most moola…I was able to get $7.50 off the full price mascara and use the $4 cvs coupon.  I paid $1.98 for 2 mascaras.  My cashier said since I was already getting a 50% discount on 1, then I could get the other one for $7.50 off…The mascaras at my store cost $8.99 each. Still a great deal…

  31. Edith Chaves says:

i don’t use make up but im sure my aunt would appreciate some! i hope my CVS takes the full $7.50 amount!! & if not it’s still a good price with the $4 off $12 & the B1G1 coupon :)

  32. Anonymous says:

I got the deal, but paid $4 and something cents. I told the cashier the value of the coupon was for $7.50 so she took off $7.50. I also used the $4 off $12 worth of cosmetics. I also tried to use the $1.00 off coupon as well but the machine didn’t accept it and she tried to manually enter it, but it did not work. So I used only the buy one get one free coupon as well as the $4.00 off coupon.

  33. Anonymous says:

I just got back from CVS. I got two of these for 44cents for both.
What a deal. I was just going to replace mine.

  34. Anonymous says:

I was able to get two of these for a total of 49cents (it was $1.43 with tax).  The cashier took off $8.99!  Plus, I got my $1 for using my green tag.

  35. you can also put this towards the covergirl 10.00 rebate!!

I was so excited about this too but I just read the fine print and it’s only valid on certain products:

      • COVERGIRL & Olay Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush
      • COVERGIRL & Olay Simply Ageless Serum Primer

Just got back frim CVS. Bought 2 for $2.02.

  37. I’m considering doing this deal 4 times (because that’s how many bogo qs I have). Assuming that they are 8.99 each (that appears to be the highest price for them), after tax, the bogo qs, the cvs 4/12 q, the 1/1 mqs, and the bc reward I’ll earn, they’ll be 1.67 for eight. Considering that’s more than the actual price of the tax… (and since I’m either going to do it over 4 transactions or at the end of the week so I’ll have enough of the crts), they’re basically free. I suggest that anyone who has enough qs and has a cvs that scans bogo qs at max value also do this and donate some of them to a women’s shelter. :3 (the tax I calculated was 5%, btw)

    •  Actually, it’s a moneymaker…. because of the P&G rebate.

      • Anonymous says:

Awesome job, gotta love those P&G rebates!

        • Anonymous says:

Is there a new rebate or you are talking about the one for last month’s olympics rebate?  :)

      • Edith Chaves says:

i know about the P&G rebate, but i believe you have to spend $20 worth of covergirl and olay cosmetics, but if we’re only spending .84 per mascara???? …. does that mean you have to really spend $20 or do 2 mascaras count as $17.58 worth since the original prices were $8.79???

        • Anonymous says:

You would only have to buy or use 2 of these mascaras towards the rebate. The total price for the rebates is BEFORE coupons. Meaning if you buy 2 @ $8.99 and 2 @ 50% off the total before coupons is $26.96. Enough to submit for the $20 rebate. They do not look at the coupons you use and this rebate states “Rebate can be used in conjunction with other offers” ex: coupons. HTH

        •  Rebates are before coupon price:)

I just tried this at cvs and it didnt work for me. The cashier said since i used a b1g1 that my total was $5 and i couldnt use the $4/$12 since my total wasnt enough. she also said i couldnt use the #1 off coupon either. I dont understand cause it worked for everyone else. did i just get a bad cashier?

    • Anonymous says:

Always give them the $4 off $12 first, then the BOGO coupon.  I think she was giving you a hard time about using coupons.  I couldn’t use the $1/1 Covergirl coupon because it beeped, which is fine by me.  My total was $1.98 and I paid with a $2ECB.

    • Anonymous says:

My cashier said to use the $4 off coupon first, then the B1G1 coupon.  This way your total is higher before the B1G1 and the register will give you the $4 off.  I have found that the order you give your coupons to the cashiers sometimes matters, like in this case.

      • I think the only time the order doesn’t matter is if you’re using a % off cvs q. My cashier said that she could scan it at the end and it would still deduct the right amount. Unfortunately, % off cvs qs never seem to work on sale items… I’ve started using them just to buy baby stuff, which generally doesn’t go on sale anyways.

    • sully says:

you always have to give the $4 off 12 coupon first before anyother manufacturer coupons. by giving your manufacturer first your total went down and it no longer was $12 bucks. The system would not take it because of that no matter how hard a cashier tries to put it in. Always give your amount off coupons first before anything else. hope it helps

    •  The coupons you are using are your currency, and I do believe it should have worked anyways, regardless of how you give them to them. It is the same with a bogo sale…. It comes off at the end of the transaction. or at least at my store it does. I think there is something about this in their policy????? My hubby has my van right now and My binder is in it, so I cannot check. But I would return the items, and repurchase at another cvs or when a different cashier is there.

  41. Anonymous says:

At my CVS it was 8.89. With BOGO the second one was 4.44 minus $4 off $12 and BOGO free coupon. They would not take my $1 Q so my total with tax was $3 without was 1.83.. not exactly what I plan to pay but still good!! I also received another $4 off $12 CVS coupon so I intend to do the deal again at another CVS to see if they would take the $1 Q.

  42. Anonymous says:

Since I had to fill a prescription today, I did this deal again.  I had the new cashier they hired, he’s a younger gentleman.  The other cashier I had yesterday was an older man (the one who didn’t want to reduce my CVS coupons down).  He seemed pretty knowledgeable about the coupon policy.  I gave him the $4 off of $12 coupon and the BOGO coupon.  I gave him the $1/1 Covergirl coupon as well, he said “might as well try”.  It beeped and didn’t go through, he said “at least I tried”. He was going to put down $8.99 on the BOGO coupon, but I told him the max said $7.50.  So my total was $1.98, I gave him a $2ECB and my total was $0.00.  We get taxed for after coupon price I noticed.  We hit $0, we pay $0.

    • I didn’t have a problem today usind the $1 cpn along with the BOGO cpn and the CVS cpn. No beeps but the cashier did point out that she could only deduct the $7.50 per the cpn and I told her yes that is correct. I paid $0.28 for both! (for some reason the BOGO took off 4.99? weird but I’ll take it!)

      • Anonymous says:

Did you mean $0.98 for both?  The register beeped, so he couldn’t take it.  I think they have a new register system.  But at least I didn’t pay anything out of pocket, which is fine by me.

        • No, I had to look at the receipt again. Here is what happened. It rang up 9.99 but was supposed to be 8.89 and it took off 50%  (4.99)of the 9.99 instead of 8.89 ( it looks like she just took off 2.20 to make them 8.89) and then the $1 cpn and then the BOGO and then the CVS cpn which made them $0.28 for both. I bought other things  and had my son with me which is probably why I didn’t notice before.

          • Anonymous says:

Ok, now I get it.  She took off $4.99 (half of $9.99)  instead of $4.44 (half of $8.89).  Good deal!

    • Edith Chaves says:

really?? thats cool! At my CVS i pay tax on the original price!! i hate it lol..,, but at target i pay tax after the target coupons have been deducted

    • We get taxed here on the original price…. Still a great deal!

  44. Anonymous says:

there is still a $4 off $12 coupon from the machine had 2 to use today! whooo hooo :o) if you get 4 mascaras it will be priced at $8.99 = 26.98 minus 2 cvs coupons for $4 off $12 = $18.98 use the 2 bogo – $15 = $3.98 use 2 $1.00 CG products and pay oop 98c for 4 mascaras or 241/2c per mascara! saving $34.98 with sale and coupons!

  45. You should delete this post KCL, it does not work. I went to see if it worked, but no, I ended up paying over $5 for both using the coupons you posted and I added another coupon $1 off thinking it might come out close to free, now I wasted a good coupon on nothing.

    • Anonymous says:

what coupons did you use? Did you have the $4 off $12 CVS coupon?

    • Anonymous says:

I did this deal twice.  If you came to that price, you should’ve gotten your coupons back and canceled the transaction.  That’s what I would’ve done.

      •  Absolutely, ML57. We all need to be prepared to tell them to cancel a transaction or void an item ,or return them if it does not work out as you think it should. That is your right as a consumer.

    • Anonymous says:

      Yes, it does work.

    • It’s really a ‘your mileage may vary’ deal. Some CVS stores have registers that ring in bogo qs at max value (mine does), some have the cashier type in the value… which, for this deal, means the cashiers are either typing it in at the max value of the bogo q (7.50), the full price (8.99) or the second item that is half off (4.50 to 5.00). It’s unfortunate that your cashier didn’t do you a favor, and KCL should specify that it’s a situational deal. But, it seems like for the majority of people, this deal is working.

    • Anonymous says:

Sorry this deal didn’t work out for you. As the other readers stated, the amount deducted will vary per store/cashier. If they don’t deduct the amount that you had expected, then asking a manager or going to another CVS may be best. Good luck next time!

I just got a 10% off beauty supplies when I sign up for the beauty club. Can I use it with the $4/12 cvs coupon?

  47. Anonymous says:

I did this same deal. I think it depends how the cashier is reading the coupon and the order in which they are entered. I just did this: at mine they were $8.99 each so $4.49 for the 2nd one. I gave B1G1 Free cpn 1st, she asked how much and I said the coupon max is $7.50, so that’s what she took off. Then I gave her a $1/1 Any Covergirl, and then the
$4/$12 CVS Cosmetics coupon. Making these $0.98 for both or $0.49 each.
What people are missing is the COUPON MAX is $7.50! That’s what the cashiers should be ringing in when asked, not $8.99 because it exceeds the coupon value.

    • Edith Chaves says:

but if you give the cashier your B1G1 coupons first and they take off the max value your total is not $12 anymore so you woulnt be able to use the $4 off $12

Got mine for 92 cents each,  It was 8.99.  I just told the cashier since she has to stop and write on the coupons that it was good for up to $7.50 and she took off the 7.50  Make sure you are registered for beauty rewards. This will go toward your $50 purchases to get $5.

    With cvs q 4 off 12, 1.00 off manufactures q, and b1g1 free q I paid 4.79 w/tax for 2. How did you get your .87 each figure????

    • Anonymous says:

The amount that is deducted for the B1G1 coupon will vary per cashier. Sounds like they only deducted $4.50 for your transaction (the 50% off item). The above scenario has the full amount of $7.50 (max value of the B1G1 coupon) begin deducted.

  50. Anonymous says:

Don’t understand math. Items at my cvs are 8.99. So I used $4 off 12 coupon cvs machine gave me, and used 1 $1.00 off covergirl manufactures coupon and the B1G1 free coupon and my total was 4.79 w tax for 2

  51. I did this deal yesterday, with the manager ringing me up. Mascara 8.99. B1G1 50% off, so 13.49, he automatically took off 8.99, so 4.50, plus another $1 Q off any covergirl, $3.50, plus the CVS Q for $4 off any $12. Made it a $.50 moneymaker for me:)

    • Anonymous says:

The max value of the B1G1 coupon is $7.50, so your CVS store will lose out on $1.50 for deducting the full $8.99. You got a great deal, but ended up making your CVS store lose some money. Next time, I would mention about the maximum coupon value, to ensure they get fully reimbursed. :)

      •  It ended up as a $.50 money maker for me. I didn’t realize the max value on coupon as $7.50. Will have to double check and mention to cashier as they are always so nice at CVS!

      •  I did not even notice the max value on the coupon! It would have been a great deal at $7.50. I feel bad now, as I usually pay attention to such things.

      • Edith Chaves says:

i got them both for .49 cents too.. it was weird because the coupon automatically took off $8.99 and since i bought other things as well i notice till i saw my recipt

  52. Anonymous says:

My CVS didn’t give me the same deal everyone else is getting apparently.  Mascara was $8.99 each, B1G1 50% off so $8.99 + $4.49 = $13.48
Used CVS coupon for $4.00 off $12.00 makeup purchase = $9.48
Used B1G1 free coupon (they would only take off the lesser amount) – $4.50 = $4.98
Would not allow me to use any other coupons so I paid $2.49 each.
Still way better than paying full price like I used to!  ;)

    • Anonymous says:

Not a bad deal, good job!

    • Anonymous says:

Same happened to me…  I guess it does depend on the expertise and knowledge of the cashier…  My cashier scanned the $1/1 before BOGO Q (even though I gave her BOGO first) and BOGO would not go through and called the manager and she told her to void everything and start with manufacturer’s before CVS’s Qs and then system accepted $7.50 but then the manager came and said it can’t be done like that, that it had to be taken $4.44 (at my store mascaras are $8.89) and she voided the BOGO Q and put the amount she wanted.. She said other wise it’s like they are paying me to shop there.

  53. i paid $ 0.98 for both,i bought 2 for $ 8.99

       $ 8.99
    + $ 4.49 = $ 13.48

       $ 13.48
    -  $   7.50 B1G1 coupon
    -  $   1.00 1/1 Covergirl Mascara
    -  $   4.00 CVS Machine $4/$12

  54. is there another way to get the coupon if the CVS has no coupon machine?

  55. I’m in SoCal and just got these. The cashier went to ring the B1G1 coupon and asked how much they were. I told her 8.99. She said it came up 4.50 and started to type that in. I explained only one was 4.50 off and she agreed and gave me 6.75 off. She did allow my $1 off coupon for the other item that was full price (although many times they won’t, I figured I would try it) and the $4 off $12 coupon machine print from earlier today. So, final price was 1.74 for the 2 plus tax. :)

I’ve never tried this mascara before… is it any good? I’m all about cheap makeup, but if it’s just so-so I’d rather wait and get something I love to use on sale :)

    • Anonymous says:

I like how it works. It doesn’t do anything super fancy but it does coat my lashes. I have really fine and thin lashes; they’re not luscious and thick like my sister’s, but this mascara coats them well and it doesn’t flake. I’d give this a 7.5/10. hope that helps.  :)

    • Anonymous says:

I personally really like this mascara. Makes my lashes full and thick. Definitly worth a $1! I would pay up to $4 for it.

  58. Anonymous says:

Can I put these mascaras toward rebate? Even free one( after coupon) or free olay bar soap I’ve got for buying facial cream? At my store mascara costs 8.89 and the cashier or the register took 8.89 off not 7.50 or 4.44. Can I use this purchase for rebate? Won’t that be like a coupon fraud?

  59. i got two of them for 2.56. thanks :D

Hi Bert you are a fellow Savvy Saver of Sheboygan . Which cvs did you go to? I want to try the deal after work.

  60. Anonymous says:

Just went to CVS to do this deal. Cashier entered 7.50. No verbiage on the coupon stating that had to deduct the lesser amount. Guess it’s because you are getting the same product and they assume you are paying the same amount for both. It really will depend on your cashier/manager.

  61. Evan Park says:

Oh, and at my store, each mascara was $8.49, and there was 1.05 tax, for a total of $2.28 after coupons.

  62. Evan Park says:

Just returned from CVS with 2 LashBlast mascaras for $2.28.  I first handed the cashier the $4/$12, then the $1 Cover Girl coupon, but when I handed over the B1G1, the machine beeped.  Manager was called, and he said to re-do the transaction.  The 2nd time, the $4/$12 was first, then the B1G1, and then the $1 Cover Girl coupon, but the Cover Girl coupon beeped.  Since it was only $1, I said never mind and paid the $2.28 total.  Manager said it was “too many coupon.”  If anyone knows the real reason the coupons beeped, please let me know. :)

Thanks Krazy Coupon Lady, I really needed mascara and so did my mom!!

    • I know at cvs you can only have as many manufacture coupons as you do items. I also know that the Extra Bucks are considered a manufacture coupon, but I am unsure if the coupon machine coupons are considers manufactured coupons. If they are then you needed one more item for all the coupons to work.

      • The coupons the come from the Red machine are considered store q’s and Extra bucks are also considered store q’s. At walgreens thier register rewards are considered manufacture q’s

      • Edith Chaves says:

you could use as many EB as you want so i dont think they are considered MQ’s….

..i think it beeped because you couldn’t use the $1/1 because the b1G1 coupon is technically for both products… just like you wouldn’t use a $off coupon on top of a coupon that says $1/2 even though you have 2 products

    • In my opinion the covergirl is already on a bogo sale and that could possibly be the reason the q beeped.

    • It may just have been the register. Some beep. Some don’t. It depends on how updated your stores registers are. However, your store’s manager clearly doesn’t know the coupon policy. They should have pushed the q through. The crt is a store q, not a manufacturer’s q. Next time, bring a copy of the cvs coupon policy with you or call cs. They really need to be retrained.

    •  It beeped because technically the P&G coupons state “of products and quantities stated”. However, Cvs coupon policy does allow a bogo coupon and dollar or cents off coupon to absorb some of the cost of the initial item you are paying for. So I guess it is really all up to the store and the cashier/manager. As with all coupons you have to be flexible and roll with the punches:)

Where is the magic coupon machine at CVS?

    • Anonymous says:

It’s usually at the front of the store. It’s a big red machine with a scanner. You scan your card and it shoots out coupons on the side. You can also use it as a price scanner to check prices on items. I think it says “Coupon Center” something like that.

    • In my CVS it was located at the front end of an aisle. I was just about to ask a cashier where to find it when I found it myself.  I thought it would be standing out by itself but it sort of blended in with everything else. It’s also a price checker so you can scan your items to make sure of the price you will be paying before your coupons come off.

Quick question about the P&G rebate: I’ve never done it before, but I was wondering, they only have so many spaces on the form where you input the UPC code of your products. What do you do if you run out of room? Do I just attach another form? Or do I just stop inputting UPC codes after all the spaces are filled out? Thanks!

    • Anonymous says:

      Attach another form.

      • Anonymous says:

like another rebate form or can i write it on a blank sheet of paper? Thanks! I appreciate the help. :)

        • Anonymous says:

Print another rebate form and attach it. This is what I didi the last time. No problem… :)

    • Anonymous says:

If I have mulitple of the same upc I always add a x2 or x3 or however many. If I run out of room I just don’t write any more. And I have always gotten my rebate. This however is just my experience.

  71. Just came back from a CVS that recently opened abt 5.5 miles from me. I hadn’t been in a CVS in many, many yrs. because they were too far away. This was my first time using the magic coupon machine and so far I’m not impressed. I did get the $4. on any $12. Cosmetics but since I wasn’t aware that there was such a thing, I wasn’t prepared to use it. It has a VERY short expiration as it expires on 6/06/2012. I also rec’d the following coupons:$1. off Head & Shoulders family size shamp or cond., $1. off Illy Iced Coffee, $1. off Natural Instinct Hair Color, $.30 off 2 Snickers 2-to-Go or M&Ms Tear & Share 2.83oz+, and Buy one Skinny Water Get one FREE(and that darn thing costs $1.67 for 16oz. – so no I won’t be buying that) All of those coupons expire 6/10/2012. And there is no way you can share the coupons with someone who may want to use them because they print out with you name and extra care card number on them. The prices there are also very high.

    • Anonymous says:

Ask your CVS if they take expired CVS coupons.  My store will take expired CVS coupons up until 2 weeks after it expires.  They will not take the percentage off CVS coupons if they are expired.  Some stores will do this, some will not.  It’s always good to ask.

    • Anonymous says:

Prices at CVS are higher than Wal-mart for example. However, with the use of coupons and Extra Care Bucks you can score some really good deals. True, you can not share your magic machine coupons with others but they could get their own card if they choose. Normally you will not get that many coupon offers at once. I used to avoid CVS because of their pricing. Now that I understand how to coupon and their other promotions CVS is my first stop. My sister says “I do Wal-mart, CVS is too high” however she is continually amazed when I walk in and say “I got deodorant, mouthwash, cookies, toothpaste, etc. FREE at CVS”. I never score completely free stuff at Wal-Mart. CSV is worth a second look.

AND they have better customer service than Walmart ;)

      • Bethany says:

I work at CVS and we have A LOT of people who walk out with free stuff or close to it. They are VERY strategic with their coupon clipping, and while sometimes it’s irritating, (like when you have a long line and people are getting irritated) but it’s seriously impressive! I wish I was as dedicated!

        •  Bethany, I adore my Cvs staff. They are all sooooo friendly and gracious, and welcoming to me. But then I always get out of the way when others come up, or go when I know they are really slow. I live less than a mile away so I can go anytime. Plus I bring them Q’s so they can do the deals, when I have enough. These gals know all about my kids, My family successes, and even some of the rough spots. Infact, My daughter just graduated and went to prom and I took pics in to show them! I feel for you though, I have worked many retail jobs and a crabby person waiting in line does not make for a good day for anyone.

          • Bethany says:

I love my customers. I just talked to a lady last night for half an hour at almost midnight when the store was empty. I was just tearing sale tags and she stood and talked to me. It was very obvious she had no one to talk to at home, and so I felt like I could be there and listen to her. A lot of my co workers won’t listen to someone talk for a length of time, but she’s just a nice older lady. I’m a people person and if I can go out of my way to just make someone’s day a little better, I will. It makes my day brighter and it makes me feel good that I can make someone else feel good. I don’t know how people can live being grumpy and cranky all the time. I like my job. Everyone at the CVS company itself is friendly and awesome. All the way to the corporate suits which I met at training. It’s a great company it really is.

    • Edith Chaves says:

yeah they do expire pretty fast but if you go like a day or 2 later and scan your card sometimes you get the same coupons and that extends the expiration date a little

    •  My Cvs will also take the expired cvs store coupons. They told me they are allowed , because of the short expiration dates. I keep all of mine in my Cvs folder in date order, and wait for the items that are not on sale to go on sale. However, usually they do go along with their sales. Or at least the ones I am getting. Good Luck:)

    • Anonymous says:

No…it beeps, just like the Women’s gillette b1g1 and $2 qs did.  I was going to do the razors , but since it beeped and they wouldn’t take the 2 $2 coupons, I didn’t buy them.  Did get the mascara and my total was $3.20 including 9% tax.  The mascara was $8.99 at my store, not $8.79

    • I think you can also use 2 of the $1/1, B1G1F and the $4off $12 so this would be a MM!!

      • Flor Tamse says:

No you can’t the B1G1F is attached to both items. You can use 2 coupons  if it is a B1G1 free SALE at CVS.

      • you should be able to use both q. I know many people have different opinions about using a $/off q w/ a bogo q, but I read bogo q to say BUY xproduct get Bproduct. So then the coupon is to pay for Bproduct and not xproduct and any products i buy i can use a q on. Many times q’s will state $/off Xproduct AND Bproduct, so then I would not be able to use a separate q on eithier products! I would use both, but remember your total cant go below zero!

      • Anonymous says:

You cannot use 2 $1/1 coupons along with a B1G1 coupon. That would be using 3 coupons for 2 items, which is not allowed according to the CVS coupon policy.

My mom went to her CVS in Miami 2 days ago, and the BOGO Q took the whole $7.50 and the $1/1 beeped but manager put it through.  At my CVS here in Louisiana, the cashier scanned the $1/1 Q first (even though I gave her the BOGO Q first) and the BOGO would not go through, she called the manager and they voided the whole transaction, and told cashier to scan manufacturers first and then CVS Qs and to scan BOGO first, when the lady did that the BOGO scanned for the whole $7.50 automatically and then she overrode the $1/1.  I was about to pay and the manager came to ask how everything was going and the cashier told her it scanned for $7.50 and the manager said you can’t do that, you will get in trouble.  I politely asked her why if the manufacturer will pay the amount written on Q, which is their max value, and she said because it’s on special and we can only accept it for the 50% value, otherwise we would be paying you to shop here.  I told her that other CVSs were doing it because the system is accepting it like that and the manufacturer has agreed to pay the $7.50 but she said no, that they had received an email about it (I was tempted to ask her to show me the email but didn’t do it cause I have no more CVS stores in town) and no it was.  I always have problems with that cashier.  She’s an old lady and it seems like she never knows how to do anything there and the manager has been very rude to me lately.  At the end, I told the cashier that unfortunately I have no more CVS stores to go to…  I know it’s still a good price but I’m disappointed that it was not as good as I had planned it AND I still have to go maybe next week to exchange them for black because had to get brown because the shelves were almost cleared… Hopefully they don’t give me trouble to exchange the color!

I did this deal today and informed KCL.  When my cashier scanned it, it took off the whole $7.50.  I believe since it has the long barcode only on the coupon, it takes off the maximum amount.  My amount was $1.98 for two since the mascara cost $8.99.  But it was free since I had ECBs with me.

  75. Wouldn’t they only take off the value of the lesser item which would be about 4.40?

..bc if it beeps on me im sure my cashier will take just the value of the cheapest one off..

        • Anonymous says:

The cashier had to type in the price to take off. My cashier read the coupon very carefully. I know most of the cashiers at walmart dont really look at the coupons and when I use a B1G1 coupon there they usually ask me what the price was.

    •  My store scans bogo qs at max value. It really depends on the register and cashier. The registers just do it, the cashiers are either allowing the full value or typing it in. I check all of my receipts, and every time I use a bogo q, it comes up at max value. Just pay attention to your receipts and you’ll learn how your store does qs. Or, you can just ask them.
