I am so excited to see the gift card deal at Rite Aid and the Nivea Men’s products at Walgreens this week! Couponing is helping me with some Father’s Day ideas.  Not a lot of deals that I love, but I am sure some will pop up this weekend. Check back later and see what I found!  As always, happy couponing!

  1. Went to Walgreens today and tried to use the buy 1 get 1 free plus the $10.00 Rewards on the Gillette/Venus razor/refills.  I got to use the coupon but did not spit out the $10.00 Register Reward.  Also, at the store I shop at they are no longer going to allow you to do more than 2 transactions receiving Register Rewards in one trip.

  2. Anonymous says:

Please help me understand . . . how can we use 2 coupons when we buy 1 get 1 free? I’m referring to CVS Softsoap hand soap, I’m expecting them to lecture me on why would I think that I can use a coupon on an item that I’ll already be getting for free!  P.S. For some reason it seems like there’s way too many cashiers at all stores that are so HAPPY to prove an extreme couponer wrong!      Please help me to better understand?

  3. Tara Barnes says:

Same issue with Walgreens in TN.  Only the one kind of shave balm was on sale.  Not sure what is going on either, however, I think KCL should maybe remove this deal since it does not appear to be true for those that have posted here.

    • well, just skip the nivea deal and get back on the venus razor train lol!

Okay first of all after looking at my receipt I noticed my store took the price of the cartridges off not the razor.  I knew right away told the manager, I am in walgreens alot, she knows me now lol.  She said if the coupon took it off, she doesn’t care.  Anyway this is what I did, its basically the same as last week.   But an extreme couponer in wallgreens told me to add an item for more rewards and by golly, it worked!

Buy the bigger venus cartridges pack 21.99-22.99
      buy the razor 11.99-12.99
(make sure this equals $30 that is why I bought the bigger pack.)
buy the olay body wash 7.49
buy on cheaper cover girl item. 3.99
total is around $46.46 + tax

Use buy cartridges get razor free takes off 21.99 (it may or not take it off, but odds are it will, I did it twice today at two different stores.)
use buy razor get body wash free takes off 7.49
use one $2 off cartridges takes off $2
use $1 off covergirl takes off $1
My total was about $14 (but I didn’t spend anything I had my rewards from last week)

IT SPIT OUT $10 FROM PB&G AND $5 FROM PB&G
the $5 was from that extra cover girl item

This is my first time sharing so please excuse my math skills, long post, and bad spelling.

      • I followed a YouTuber that did a similar deal. Buy the Venus cartridge $12.99, get the razor $11.99for free. Get the Olay facial cleanser on sale $5.19, use $3 off Q., and the 2 Covergirl mascara. Used the BOGO that took off the razor(one store took off $12.99, the othe $11.99), the BOGO that took off the mascara (one store did the full price, the other the half price, but they were also ringing up $2 less than advertised), and a $1 off CG, and $2 off Venus that I was paying for. I then would receive a $8 for the razor, a $5 and $3 for the P&G items. 1st trx I paid $1.52, the next 3, made $0.48 ea, and the last 2 (diff store) I overpaid cause they overcharged and I didn’t notice. I did get the $8 they overcharged for the cartridges, but they couldn’t change the BOGO she did wrong, onr that I forgot my 2 Venus $2 coupons.

        • Oh, and the other YouTuber that recommended using the Buy the cartridge, get the Olay bodywash free (after getting the razor free with the BOGO on the same cartridge), said that she misused that coupon and apologized. My store wouldn’t do it, and I’m glad they didn’t. She is suppose to let us know what the manufacturer says about it.

  4. Eric says:

I’m new to coupon saving but i gave it a try and when i went to a cvs here in alabama the soft soap was 3.89 b1g1 and i used 2/1.00 off coupons. my total came to 2.24 w/tax they have a 9.0% sales tax. do you calculate your savings before or after tax?

    • I calculate my savings after tax. I even  add the tax in there that I saved, because in our state, when we use coupons, the sales tax is deducted as well. So, HERE, we save on the coupons AND the tax that we normally would have paid, had we paid retail. Now, if you pay sales tax for items that a “free” coupon would have only deducted the coupon amount, you’re not really saving 100%, YK?

  5. The Kotex coupons are not good on 14-18ct anymore…

    • Rachel says:

I was looking at that myself. Kotex liners will not be free due to that fact that all the coupons are Not Good For 14-22ct packages!! You are warned.

    • Yeah, I know. :( I noticed this right before I went to the register and had to go put them back. :(

    • Anonymous says:

They changed this late Sunday afternoon, I had already printed and  mine don’t have a restriction, but when I went to print again on a different computer it was there.

  6. is there a $2 off one razor or cartrige refill u could also use in a ddition to the bogo free razor q….so the $2 would apply to the cartridge and u pay $15.99 oop

    • I went to walgreens.. I used the 2 dollars off nievia and i got the 2 dollar money back and it was on clearance for 218
so for two shaving gels it was like 48 cents with tax

  7. Beth Vanderq says:

Hmmm..where is the target Nivea coupon?

  8. Anonymous says:

So people are having trouble at Walgreens?  I didn’t see anything I needed or wanted.  I did go to CVS to get more Irish Spring bar soap, as well as the Nivea lotion.  I love Nivea, its great for people with sensitive skin.

  9. Where do you get the Discover the Great buy booklet from?

  10. kulf says:

i went. i tried to purchases two face scrubs. not on sale. had a manager price check and it was priced at 7.99 each….What the heck is going on???? what an unusual advertisement…im annoyed i was very excited for this and woke up early to go 12 miles to get it

  11. Anonymous says:

FYI – Just came back from Walgreeens and the ONLY Nivea Mens items that
were part of the promotion were the Shaving cream, the shave balm
(pictured in ad) and the Q10 balm (I know it said wasn’t included but
they had the tags.)  None of the other items (splash, cleansers or
moisturizers were ringing up on sale and they didn’t have the sale tags
for them.  I live in MD.  Just wanted people to know as it wasn’t a very
good trip to only get the balm for almost free.  The shaving cream is
    not a good deal.

    • Tina Gapp says:

I thought I was the only one, and here I am to join the party….I tried to purchase the face scrub and the lotion for my hubby, and the deal was bad.  I voided out because the ad was misleading.  Both the cashier and manager were confused along with me.  I called corporate and I am supposed to have an answer in 2 working days.  The catalina did print, we observed, but the prices were not as advertised.

The Q10 was not in the sale either…so it appears there are inconsistencies?

      • Anonymous says:

Im interested to see what corporate has to say about it. I agree the ad was very misleading, and the cashiers/manager that I usually deal with at my store thought the same thing. Ours (in central LA) was just the balm and the shave cream as well, everything else was ringing up normal price. The Q10 balm was one of the two balms that they had on sale though.

        • Anonymous says:

ad’s are printed months ahead of time. wag employees dont know when an item is misadvertized until customers bring it up to there attention at checkout.

      • Isn’t that odd that the catalina printed but it’s not on sale? I think WAG’s made a mistake, I think they all should have been part of the sale if the catalina’s are printing out? Doesn’t that make sense? It does to me. I was so bummed Sunday morning when I got to my WAG! :(

        • Me too! I still got the Nivea that was on sale for $0.25 each. I had to go to CVS for the right product for the $2.50 coupon, but even then, I paid $2 for each, cause the deals weren’t the same. I know that pretty usual though.

  12. Anonymous says:

In Colorado, the only items included in the Nivea deal is the face balm and shaving cream.  The add Walgreens put out in the paper is a little deceiving because it only excludes two items.  I nicely explained this to the cashier I usually see and she agreed.  I am going to hang onto my coupons and hope to find a good deal.

    • Anonymous says:

I went this morning and same thing.  I completely agree that the ad is misleading.  Maybe walgreens changed it last minute?  Lol.

    • Not the first time walgreens have had misprints in the ad. couple weeks ago they misprinted skinmate shaving gel/cream.

    • Chelsea says:

Oh no, I’m in CO too! I hope it’s not the whole state of CO!

    • Seeing a lot of chatter about this one, I had to call corporate and verify this…I tried originally to do this one on Sunday and the same thing happened (face scrub/wash rang up as $7.99 each).  Usually when you call Walgreens with an issue with a specific store, they have the manager of that store return your call…so I just got a call back from my store’s manager (store is in Baltimore, MD), and he said there was some glitch with his computer system that was messing up the deal – as the circular states, ALL the Nivea for Men products except the eye roller and Q10 lotion should be on sale.  So he grabbed the products I wanted and has them waiting for me at the register, and I’m going to pick them up this afternoon…what a guy :)  Moral of the story – it’s a pain, but calling corporate usually works!!

  13. Anonymous says:

It’s misleading posting something like “X item is $3.00, receive $3.00 ECB, final price FREE” since the item really isn’t free… you still have to pay the $3.00 out of pocket and use the ECB on a different transaction. And then you’re double counting if you take the ECB off the final price of that first transaction and again when you actually use it. I prefer to think of the ECBs as catalina coupons. Just a pet peeve of mine.

Since The Krazy Coupon Lady has been doing the ‘math’ this way since I started visiting this site, I wouldn’t use the term misleading. It is just a matter of when you choose to apply your savings into your own accounting method. For instance at Rite Aid if I get $2 in +Ups for buying tampons and then use that $2 to buy milk, I don’t come home to my husband saying I got free milk….in my opinion that is misleading my husband into thinking that I can get free milk when in reality I am saving on tampons and applying that savings to the purchase of milk. However, I think my husband is in your camp because he is only concerned with the OOP bottom line and I’m more interested in the long term. Either way, sounds like we all enjoy saving money regardless of our accounting methods :)

      • I agree, if you are going to need items other than the ECB items, common sense tells you to buy the ECB items first.  Then you use the ECB for the other items you would normally buy, you save in the long run.  Just as good as extra cash in your pocket

Seeing a lot of chatter about this one, I had to call corporate and verify this…I tried originally to do this one on Sunday and the same thing happened (face scrub/wash rang up as $7.99 each).

When you coupon on  at least a semi-regular basis, you a have EB’s to roll weekly, and generally only have the higher out of pocket once making items free!  ;-)

    • if you’re counting it twice, you’re doing it wrong. ECBs are money. If you pay $1 cash and $3 in ECBs you’re paying $4.    It’s the only way to figure things correctly.

Otherwise you’d think you spent full price on a deal that gave you ECBs and think you paid nothing when you buy something that was full price with ECBs.
