I did this deal yesterday and not realizing it, two of the eye shadows were clearanced .84.  So I went back and got two more.  My total at the bottom of my receipt said I spent 15.01 and I used 4 $3/2 coupons.  So I ended up with a moneymaker!

I did this deal at Rite Aid on Tuesday in Sacramento, CA. I purchased 6 eye shadows and the cashier told me that I could not use the $3/2 Covergirl coupons for the eye shadows because the picture on the coupon showed mascara & eyeliner (as per her manager). I stood my ground because the coupon says “any” Covergirl products and they couldn’t possibly include a picture of every covered item on a coupon. The manager on duty told the cashier that she had to let me use the coupons because the coupons did state “any” Covergirl products. I was happy to receive the $5.00 up reward & I only paid $7.42 for the 6 eye shadows, but I left the store feeling very humiliated at how I was treated in front of a line full of customers:(

I have had the same experience at a Rite Aid in San Fernando Valley, Southern California. You should write a letter to corporate. Maybe this way, the cashiers can get some additional training on how to process coupons.

I’m in the same city and I tried using the $1/1 covergirl on those eyeshadows too and was told at 2 separate Rite aids that I could only use one since the price of the coupon was more than the price of the item and they could not adjust it down so I ended up paying 1.62 for 4 eyeshadows  I was also informed that I could not use coupons on clearance items at one of the stores ….

I am not new to couponing but tomorrow will be the first time i coupon at rite aid…so my questions is does rite aid have a store card like the ones from CVS?

My store had two eyeshadows that were clearances at 75% off, so they were moneymakers with either the $3/2 coupon or the $1/1 coupon. There were a couple of multicolor eyeshadows that were also clearances, but I was out of $3/2 coupons to make money, so I passed. The colors are, well… I’ll plan for Halloween, lol, but to make money that’s ok with me. That’s so KRAZY!

That’s true. I had the above scenario planned out when the sale started (Friday SoCal) and to my surprise I got a bunch of $0.84 clearance eye shadows so I had to rework my scenario. After several transactions (4 like coupon rule) and $1 off coupons adjusted down it ended up a moneymaker for me.

will having the R/A gold discount affect the $15 before coupons subtotal?

If you purchase even amounts such as the 6 in the deal above it is BOGO 50% but if you get an odd amount that odd item would be the gold 20% off.
