I tried to do this deal, I did end up getting the $10 gas card but I payed $28.96 including coupons instead of  $18.38.

  2. Yandazola says:

So how does 4 like coupon mean…could I use. 4 coupons on 1 product or have to get 4 products?

    • Anonymous says:

You would have to buy 4 products to use 4 coupons. What that means is you can only use max of 4 in single transaction.

  3. Harley69d says:

I have a $1.00 off 2 Crest Toothpaste here in NY can I use that. I didn’t get the 75cent off 1 here :( thanks for the help in advance :)

The link worked for me and here is a scenario I came up with

    4 Pantene  13.00

    1 Tide   5.97

    2 Head and Shoulders 23.7 oz   12.38

    use (2)    3.00/2 Pantene
    use (1)   1.00/1 Tide
use (1)   BOGO Head and Shoulders

Pay 18.16  receive 10.00 gas card     1.16 each after gas card!! woohoo

I recv’d a CVS coupon for $5 off a $30 purchase. Does anyone know if it has to be a $30 purchase BEFORE tax and bottle deposits???

  6. Dipsy Gupta says:

Just a question for everyone who shops at CVS.. I’m new to couponing and never shopped at CVS earlier because I found the rates at CVS much higher than my Kroger .. Even with the EBs, I find the prices at CVS higher.. Can someone pls tell me why CVS is a good store to shop at ?

    • EveyG says:

I like to shop at CVS.  I find I get great deals on a lot of items, but you have to watch the prices and determine if it is a good deal or not.  Often, with the EB, you pay more up front, but get the money (EB) on the back end.  Once you have accumulated some EB, you pay less and less out of pocket.  Add coupons to the mix and sometimes you actually make a few cents or at least get items for free shopping at CVS.  Look under the article each week, about shopping for $5 or less and it gives scenarios for great savings ideas.

I like CVS gift card promos better than the gas card but did 5 this time. CVS often has hidden deals and free or money maker deals. I buy all my health and beauty at CVS and Walgreens and things are often free. CVS is good because you can make purchase throughout the week toward a deal. They give you 2% back quarterly on the purchase price, before coupons and often email you discount coupons. You can stack magic coupon machine coupons and mfg coupons for great prices. CVS non promo prices are high but since I follow KCL, I never buy anything that is not a deal – build your stock pile and never pay reg prices.
I buy salmon at kroger when it goes below $5 now that I save so much money at CVS! :-)

      • Dipsy Gupta says:

Nice !! Im a student and dont get time to go to the store more than once a week. Finding hidden deals might be tough for me :(
Had one more qn ..about the 2% back.. I too did the gas card deal this time.. 12$ in cosmetics and rest in tide and tp ..I had coupons for 10$ and 5EBs.. paid 15 cash.. How much of this should contribute to my 2% back? I thought it would be 18 but I see only 10.. Wat am I missing?

  7. Gigilaosita says:

i’ve received some coupons for 25 and 30% off , but the cashier told me they work only for regular prices. Is this right? i reaad somewhre that i can use them on “regular prices” that gives you extrabucks…I dont understand what this mean…

    • EveyG says:

I think this is an area of confusion, both for people here and for the cashiers.  It seems different people have had different experiences.  I, too, had a 25% coupon that expired on the 4th of July.  I went in to my local store and asked an experienced cashier as well as the on shift asst manager if the 25% coupon would work for the gas card promotion items and they both said no.  They explained that it did not work on sale, clearance  or promotional items, neither on milk, bread, stamps, etc.  I had already done my deals and received 2 gas cards earlier in the week, so I did not purchase more of these items.  When I checked out my items, it seems that the 25% was applied to the sale/promotional items (such as buy 1 lays chip and get 1 free, as well as a clearance item) and I was upset because I could have done really well on the P&G products and received another gas card.

For your specific question, I have been told that sometimes when they have products selling at regular price but offer an EB, the discount applies.  For example, if toothpaste sells for $2.50 regularly and this week they have an offer for $2 EB with the toothpaste purchase, then you are paying regular price and therefore your discount should apply, and you will receive the EB as well.  However, some would say that the EB is a promotion, therefore the discount would not apply, hence the confusion.

  8. Cindy Dillman says:

Thank you for putting this deal together. I got my inserts in the mail today so I cannot wait to go to cvs tomorrow. What makes this really great is that they won’t be out of these products.

  9. KaI says:

do you redeem your gas card at the cvs cashier or the actually gas station?

    • Anonymous says:

Don’t worry about what cashiers tell you. You can spread out the deals through the week, the running total will show on your receipt(. It accumulates before coupons). Another words, even with a $1 coupon on Tide, your total for it will be $5.97 (sale price). Once you’ve spent enough, the coupon for the gas card will print. Just give the coupon to cashier for redemption. Hope it helps!

    • Julie Layer says:

You get the card from the cvs cashier, you spend it at an exxon location.

  10. LOVE the deals you always list that helps soooo much . Thank you !!

  11. Princessa2321 says:

I’m confused. The coupons stated are for the crest rinse but we are supposed to buy the toothpaste?

    • Anonymous says:

There is a Crest Pro Health Whitening Mouthwash.

      • Princessa2321 says:

I saw the mouthwash but not for the price stated nor anywhere in that range :( Nor in that particular size. I did see it in the toothpaste but I only had the mouthwash coups. I ended up buying
        1 Tide, 2 Pantene, 4 Covergirl eyeshadow, 6 Dawns
OOP was 20.30 after coupons and 10.30 with the gas card
I think that’s right : not too shabby i suppose for already being in the store

  12. Ashleigh says:

I just did the math. While this is a great scenario, I only come up with $25.15 before coupons and after sales. So this would not trigger the gas card.

  13. I just got a $5 off $30 from CVS in my inbox, which would work perfect with this deal.

  14. Christy Hannegan says:

I just got an email for a CVS coupon that if I spend $20, get $4 off.  Would this work with this deal?

  15. Soccerstar150284 says:

I just got a $5 off $30 purchase in my email too :)

    • IG says:

My email said $4/$20.  When I went to print it, it said $5/$30 but it wouldn’t print. When I tried it again, a $4/$20 coupon printed.  Weird!!

    • KrisMN says:

Funny, i just got $4/$20 which is fine becuase i have less than 30 to spend to get another gas card.  That PF deal was so great, CVS paid me to stop in that day :)

  16. Anonymous says:

Great deal! Purchased everything on the list above, used the exact q’s and gas card printed!

  17. Laura says:

I just went to CVS to try this and the cashier said I needed to spend $30 before coupons. So, I’m not sure how the deal above would work since the subtotal is only $18.38. I went ahead and added some physician’s formula and maybelline make-up deals to get my subtotal to $30.15 and he gave me the gas card. Nothing “extreme”, but $30 for over $90 of merch works for me!

    • Katherine says:

My CVS told me the same thing. You don’t get the gas card unless your total after coupons is $30 or more. It’s frustrating to work hard on the best deal only to find out  it isn’t going to work that way. Maybe others are able to get their total down to $18 with coupons and still get the gas card, but mine says no. Does anyone know what determines the gas card award–is it the cash register or the cashier?

      • catherine says:

They are telling you wrong.  It doesn’t matter how many coupons you have.
Even if you paid .50 for everything after coupons you should still get the gas card.  It is the total before coupons.

        • Anonymous says:

          you are right!
the cashiers may not know what they are talking about and need to be informed correctly for the sake of the customers!

i did different deals …. only the things we needed and spent about 260 this week at cvs for over 600 in stuff and got back 80 in gift cards and 40 in ecbs ….. between my mother and myself

        • Laura says:

Thanks. The cashier also told me that I needed to spend the $30 (after coupons, before tax) all in one purchase to get the gas card, but my receipt shows “total needed for gas reward” and it seems like others have been able to spread it out in multiple purchases throughout the week. How would I go about informing the cashier of the correct policy? Are the gas card details in their coupon policy?

          • Anonymous says:

Unfortunately they are not specified in their coupon policy.  In the ad it does state that the amount can be reached in “purchase(s)”.  But, like with the ECB deals that you purchase “x” and get “y”, the amount is before coupons…  How to inform the cashier?  I guess only by experience if you reach the $30 before coupons at once and the coupon for the gas card pops up immediately…  I don’t know any other way… :-/

    • Anonymous says:

That subtotal is AFTER coupons.  To qualify for the gas card you have to spend $30 BEFORE coupons.

    • Anonymous says:

It should be $30 after CVS coupons but before manufacturer’s coupons. Most stores abide by this but since it’s a store deal, and there isn’t anything specific in their coupon policy, you may encounter something different.

  18. Jacob Ratliff says:

I can’t wait to go to CVS to get this great deal!!! :-)

  19. Theavy22 says:

can i use cvs coupon 3$ off 15 from facebook? considere to shampoo and eye shadow?

    • Beth says:

i was wondering the same thing. I would think so! :)

    • Anonymous says:

As long as the beauty products add up to a total of $15 BEFORE coupons.  That coupon is for beauty only.  You can’t use it for just $15 worth of ANYTHING.

  20. sully says:

in los angeles we got only one ad for the entire week

    • Anonymous says:

Lucky you!  Here in South Louisiana it’s been the 2 different sales, which, I HATE…  Ugh…  :-P

  21. Ashleylf20 says:

Where do you get 1.67? After coupons it is just 18.38 plus a 10.00 gas card? so how do you get it down to 1.67?

  22. Anonymous says:

Sorry about that! It’s been fixed. :)

  23. NatalieE says:

    Didn’t work for me either

  24. Anonymous says:

did it reset from the gas card deal going on earlier in the week? I hope not as I already had a little $ applied toward a second gas card!!!!!

    • Tlogue46 says:

      Me too…

    • Anonymous says:

I don’t think it reset because I went in yesterday and made a purchase not related to the gas card and it still showed the amount I needed to earn it in the first sale cycle.

    • Laura says:

How do you have $ “applied toward a gas card”? My cashier said the $30 must be spent in one transaction to get the card!

      • Annie Nguyen says:

        it didnt reset!(:

      • Anonymous says:

Your cashier is wrong.  You DO NOT have to spend $30 dollars within one transaction.  If you look at the bottom of receipt it will say how much you’ve earned toward the reward.  You can get up to 5 gas cards.

      • Sweet349071 says:

That cashier must have been mistaken. You should ask another cashier or the manager to verify because deals like gas cards and other things keep a running total for you when you use the same card and once it reaches 30 dollars spent you get the printed coupon on your receipt for a gas card.

      • Jennifer Trimble says:

        the cashier is def wrong…

      • it doesn’t have to be in one transaction because the receipt track the record. As soon as you hit 30 it will print the 10$ gas reward

        • Anonymous says:

You can earn up to five gas cards, per week, per length of the promotion; according to my CVS store manager. The only catch I have found is that it has to be thirty dollars used, even after coupons are used. I finagled a few ideas around and got items to come out to 30.04, so I was happy.

          • Xitsjusthollyx says:

I’ve contacted alot of stores regarding the whole reward or money back on items when you spend $30 or more on selected items and they all have said it has to be over $30 out of pocket paid after all discounts and coupons taken off! I think it should be treated as if your coupons are your form of payment because the store gets reimbursed for it but i guess there always has to be a catch :( happy couponing!

            • N2fun_80 says:

I have NEVER had to pay the full amount after coupons.  My totals begin at $30 and decrease accordingly with the coupons and I still get the gas card!

So I just tried to click the click here to see other products included but it didn’t work. Thanks!
