Safeway Coupon Deals: Week of 7/25

Here are the deals happening this week at Safeway! Prices are valid 7/25 – 7/31 unless otherwise stated.

This week, in some areas, there is a doubler in the ad that allows you to double up to 4 coupons! The face value of the coupon (before doubling) must be $0.50 or less. This is limited to one doubler per transaction per household per week. That means you can only double 4 coupons during the entire sales week. 1. Oliver4403 says:

Heads up to anyone in Oregon, or, Eugene/Springfield area. The $1 off 2 bags of Lays kettle chips is misleading-just got back from Safeway on Coburg and that coupon works on any of the Lays chips-they are on sale for $2.99 each, add the $1 off on to your safeway card, then use the coupon=$1.50 a bag! Great deal!

  2. KathyColorado says:

I’m new to couponing and just learned that Safeway’s in ad coupons are misleading.  Even though the smaller print at the bottom says the limit is per coupon, they will not honor more than one of their coupons in a transaction.  So, next time I’ll split the transactions by the number of their coupons.

  3. Charity Name says:

I finally received my Pedisure rebate in the mail.  It was a $5 moneymaker for me at Safeway because of the in-store coupon and $3 Q.  I can’t remember who asked me if I would get the moneymaker because I bought it at Safeway, but the answer is “yes”.  I wrote on my receipt the coupons were forms of payment, and I got the extra $5.

  4. donnaz says:

Is anyone else having problems using homel coupons at Safeway. I was told by the cashier they were fake because they didn’t have the right bar code.

  5. Gigi_gg says:

Can’t locate any of the three coupons listed for the Lloyd’s ribs.

    • Anonymous says:

On the Hormel site, there are some products listed at the bottom of the page.  You can select the product you want a coupon for then click “Print Coupon”.  I wasn’t able to find it on the other two sites.

    • Anonymous says:

There Hormel coupon is still available.  It looks like the others may be gone.  Get the Hormel coupon while they’re still there; they seem to be going fast!

  6. Jackie says:

Does anyone know if Randalls is the same as Safeway? Every time I see a deal for Safeway I’m bummed because there’s not one in my city, but when I try to search for Randalls deals the Safeway page comes up, please help!!

  7. Guest says:

I just checked my Just 4 U account (it’s midnight here, so new card deals are ready) and I have an e-coupon (in the Coupon Center) for FREE Duncan Hines Frosting Creation Flavor Packets!

Also, check your Coupon Center on your account and see if you have an e-coupon for “Save $1.00 on the purchase of ONE (1) 12-pack or TWO (2) 2-liter bottles of Dr Pepper TEN”.

And lastly, I know everyone’s J4U is different, but check your personalized prices to see if you got a deal on Klondike Novelties (Mine’s for $2.39 each). Then check your J4U Coupon Center and see if you got a $1/1 Klondike item. These two deals will combine making it only $1.39.

I’m also excited about the Fiber One deal because my stores (on the East coast) double making the boxes only $0.79 each when using the $0.60/1 manufacturers coupon along with the store coupon. I will be devastated if my stores stop doubling like BMom’s stores :(

My Barilla coupon is only .55 cents off of 2?! Did anyone else get a $1.00/2?

      That is great!

Replying to my own post to add:

Another great Safeway deal this week!

There’s an in store sale on 21oz.
Voila frozen meals for $3.99 til 7/31. A new Voila paper coupon is out
(((on: SmartSource com))) for “$1.75/1 Any Voila meal product”
Expires 30 days from print date. Makes these really delicious meals only
$2.25, which is about 1/2 their original price!

Dont forget to check your coupon stash because about 3-4 weeks ago Voila
put out a $3/1 coupon and if you HAD printed it, it will be expiring soon. Though it’s NOT still available, you may have
printed it in the hopes of finding a deal. If you have this coupon the
meals will only be $0.99 each! :)

  8. Actually .99 cents for a half gallon of milk is a pretty screaming deal! Walmart’s store brand half gallon milk is like $2.10 or something so I’d say that’s a pretty good “stock up” price!

  9. Lauris8b says:

Does anyone know if the digital coupons are manufacture or vons’ coupons?

    • Guest says:

I’ve found that typically the ones that say “Save $x.xx” are manufactures coupons (unless it’s for a Vons/Safeway only product, like Lucerne or Eating Right brands) and a paper coupon cannot be used with them. When it says “$x.xx Each” then it’s more then likely a store coupon, similar to the ones found in your weekly ad. I’ve used this to help keep them straight and it’s worked well for me. Hope it’s helpful for you too.

    • Anonymous says:

If they are not store brand items, then they should be manufacture cpns and you can’t use a paper cpn with it.

    • I just go by what’s in the flyer.  Those paper coupons in the weekly flyer are also online, and they’re SW coupons, which can be stacked with a Mfg coupon.  The other coupons that are online are typically Mfg. coupons, in my experience.

    • Anonymous says:

The digital and manufacturer coupons are together in the coupon center.  It can be a little hard to distinguish between the two.  Guest below is correct, look for $x.xx each, that is often a store coupon.  You can also look at the ad and find the in ad coupons and then find them online in the coupon center.

Not sure where to post this….  Sorry, if this isn’t the right spot.  Anyone living in Texas and shops at Tom Thumb…..  Starting tomorrow Tom Thumb is kicking off a new program called “Just for U”.  You can sign up at the store, on your iphone/android, ipad, or home computer.  The apps are free. There is a “coupon” tab, “personalized deals” tab, “club saving’s ” tab, and a “saving’s list” tab.   You can save 10-20 %, but some people have been saving much more.  I would definitely check into this new program.  You need to have your reward card OR phone number that is linked to your reward card.

This is quite  a long list and lots of  good stuff.Wish we have more of this in PI.

  12. Hanna says:

are you still able to use the horizon organic milk coupon listed for the 16 oz.  even though it says for half gallon ?

    • Guest says:

Doubtful.  I think KCL is mistaken by the confusing ad.  The sale is for the 8oz Horizon Organic milk singles OR the 16oz Safeway Jumbos Biscuits, so I doubt they will accept a coupon for “half-gallon” on 8oz.

In my SoCal ad there’s a disclaimer that states “effective August 1 coupons will be accepted at face value” so no more doubling coupons :(

wonder how long it will take for the Safeway’s up here in Oregon to stop doubling…..Oregon is usually right behind happenings in California & Washington

      • Damaman7 says:

It’s already hard enough to get good deals in Oregon…. plus cashiers are horrible to couponers!

      • Anonymous says:

From what I have learned it is going to be their new policy nationwide starting August 1st.  We will keep you posted.

        • Anonymous says:

oh snap!  oh well, couponing out here is usually without any type of doubling anyways.

          • Jane says:

I am in Montana and Albies stopped doubling here almost a year ago and Safeway doesn’t…grrr  I guess they figure that since we are already in a low income state that we don’t need to save money?  sigh.

        • Guest says:

          Nationwide, really? Nooooo! :(

It would be really dumb for them to do this in DC metro area because ALL of the other grocery stores double (not including Target or Walmart) but every other store does. They’d certainly lose their customers to these other stores. (Harris Teeter even has “Super Doubles” and “Triple Coupon” events every other month!!) Hmmm.

Their new J4U program kicking off is great and all but it’s not so impressive that they should stop doing doubles! Grr

Well I’m crossing my fingers that’s it’s not going to happen here. *shrugs*

          • Guest says:

Replying to myself yet again. lol.

I’ve found two articles that both seem to say Vons only.

This post will have to be viewed by a mod, but I hope they view it and post it quickly because this information is important!

            http://www.ocregister.com/articles/double-365379-program-coupon.html
This link seems to be an official newspaper website for an area where there are Vons stores.

            http://couponsinthenews.com/2012/07/25/double-coupons-dying-like-dinosaurs/

This link tells that this is actually the second time Vons has eliminated doubles, that it happened once in 2006.

It’s all very interesting but really needs to stay away from the East coast! lol.

          • Sarah Rossi says:

When the Blooms in the DC Metro area converted to Food Lion, they stopped doubling and I stopped going.  I have two Safeway’s close to my house but I may start driving to Giant if Safeway stops doubling.  Giant also has gas rewards that can be used.  There are no gas stations in our area where the Safeway gas rewards can be used.

    • Dianne Buquet says:

OMG this is terrible! My Vons in San Diego only doubles the 1st coupon if using more than 1 of the same kind, and up to $1 but every little bit helps. I’ll have to look at my ad when I get home from work today. Thanks for mentioning it.

    • dust22 says:

My ad in San Diego says the same thing. I guess it’s time to give Albertson’s a try.

    • Anonymous says:

We have just learned this also.  It is unfortunate Safeway is doing this.  There will still be good values on sales with manufacturer coupons though!
