Extreme Couponing Tip: Keep Coupon Policies Handy
Ever run into a snag with a cashier on whether you can use a certain coupon or what the store policy is? The solution is to print out, understand, and always have a copy of the store’s coupon policy with you when you shop.
Look online for your store’s coupon policy with this extensive list and print the policy directly from the store’s website. If your store doesn’t have a coupon policy posted online, request one be mailed to you.
The next step is to read, study, and understand the policy points. Become very familiar with rules on promotions, rewards, accepted coupons, and guidelines. Knowledge is power, so you’ll be armed and ready for when you head to the store.
Stash the coupon acceptance policy somewhere you’ll have easy access to it every time you shop, whether in a sheet protector in your binder, in a store envelope, or the back of your accordion file. If you’d like, you can also give a copy to each cashier or encourage the manager to have one at each register. You can even highlight in marker key points! When you come across a problem at checkout, politely hand the checker the coupon policy and explain how you understand the policy to read. If the checker does not comply with the printed guidelines, politely ask to speak with a manager.
