The other day at CVS they refused to scan my $5 ECB from $50 in Beauty Care purchases because I was not buying beauty products with my $5 ECB. It doesn’t say that exclusion on the coupon. Can I use this $5 ECB award on non-beauty purchases?

  2. RhondaM says:

  14. Smleach says:

I received a  free CVS children’s vitamin coupon (up to 6.29 I believe).  I combined it with a BOGO free sale and payed about $.60 for 2 because the vitamins were $6.89. Great deal.

    • Anonymous says:

Same thing here.  Although, the coupon didn’t want to scan, so the cashier manually input the amount at $6.89 (even though the coupon said $6.29).  I didn’t notice they’d done that until I got home, and the second bottle of vitamins was free from the BOGO sale.

  15. Anonymous says:

i got $3 off any revlon comsmetic item expires in 2 weeks :o)

  16. Anonymous says:

Would this senario work….. Buy 4 olay facial clothes 4x 3.74=14.96 buy 4 olay body wash 4×5.99=23.96 for a grand total of $38.92.. Then use the $4/20 olay cvs Q AND the $3/15 olay cvs Q bringing the total to $31.92 then use two of the $3/2 olay Q and use four of the buy olay facial cloths get free body wash.. Making your OOP only $1.96. Then recieve $5ECB and submit for the $10rebate. Does this sound right?

    • Redhedsftbl86 says:

Where are the Olay Mqs from?

      • Anonymous says:

The $3/2 she’s referring to are from last month’s PG insert, the BOGO Olay Facial Cloths and Body Wash from this past sunday’s paper’s PG insert and the $4/20 and $3/15 are from the MCM…  HTH… ;)

  17. Anonymous says:

    • Anonymous says:

      yes that’s a perfect scenario!! :o)

    • Anonymous says:

Looks good, with the exception of using the $3/2 AND the BOGO coupons together. Although CVS policy allows the stacking of these coupons, the PG coupons themselves expressly do NOT allow it (“limit one coupon per purchase of products and quantities stated”). At KCL, we have to stick to the strictest of guidelines in the deals we post and support.

      • Anbutitta says:

Hmm.. that part is very confusing. LoL

      • LivingFree says:

KCL could you please explain why this does not work?! I went to CVS today and my transaction had (4) Olay facial cleaners & (4) Olay body washes – I was using (2) 3.00/2 Olay Facial Cleaners MQ & (4) B1 Olay Face cleaner G1 Olay body wash free, as well as the $3 off $15 Olay from the “MCM”. I have been doing this for about a year now and it is my understanding that the $3.00/2 Q is for the Face cleaners and the B1G1 applies to the body washes- therefore we are not using more than one coupon per product purchased so this would be allowed, am I missing something?! Thank you!!

        • Anonymous says:

What part of the transaction did not work or all of it? If you bought them all in one transaction: you used 2 more P&G coupons than what is  allowed, only 4 in a shopping trip.  As for the $3/2 it is up to individual CVS store to accept them or not.  These scenarios would work if you use (3 b1g1 and 1 $3/2) or (2 b1g1 and 1 $3/2), or all 4 b1g1 mfq if your cvs does not accept the $3/2  and combine them with the $3/15 cvs crt as long your total is over $15.00.  hth.

        • Anonymous says:

It has to do with the wording on the PG coupon itself, which is relatively new, particularly regarding “quantities stated.” Whereas the presumption in the past has been that a BOGO coupon “attaches” to ONLY the free item, PG has worded the coupon to clarify that, according to them, it indeed attaches to BOTH items. Therefore, if you were to use an additional coupon (the $3/2 applying to the 2 items you’re buying), you are then applying more than one coupon to the item you’re buying: the BOGO coupon AND the $3/2. I know this isn’t widely practiced at this point because it is relatively new. But our interpretation of this wording has to be by the strictest standards. Hope that helps to clarify our stance :)

  18. Civicized5 says:

So, I see potentially a good deal on gillette/olay. Looks like the machine is printing a
$4.00/$20.00 Gillette, Olay, Venus, CoverGirl, Fekkai, or Crest and a
$3.00/$15.00 Tide, Bounty, Charmin, Gillette, Olay, or Pantene and a
$1.00/$5.00 Dawn, Vicks, Puffs, Crest, CoverGirl, Gillette. That’s already $8.00 off a $20.00 purchase without coupons being added for Gillette products or $7.00 off Olay products.

    • Anonymous says:

you need to spend $40 to use all these coupons appropriately

    • Anonymous says:

jlsmom is correct – per CVS policy, each of those coupons needs to be satisfied on its own. In other words: $40 worth of merchandise.

  19. Anyone else notice this but my $0.75 off Snickers, Milky Way, Twix 11oz says “Don’t forget Halloween candy for the Trick-or-Theaters” it expires 08/11/2012 I think it is a little early for this?

  20. Cahgirl87 says:

I wish I could figure out to get I the second set that expire 2 weeks after you print them! Last week I got a TON of free chocolate but I wish it would alternate the sets of coupons instead of giving me the same ones every day. Still I can’t complain – CVS has been wonderful since I started shopping there. Only been couponing a short time but this site has been great at helping me get AMAZING deals :)

    • Anonymous says:

Not to be obvious, but just in case… are you scanning your card at least twice, until it says there are no more coupons for you? Also, you said you’ve only been couponing a short time, so it may take some time for the system to catch on to your shopping habits and start spitting out more coupons for you :) HTH!

  21. I received a $2 off $10 Beauty purchase from the magic coupon machine when I was there over lunch today!

  22. Melissa says:

Is there a pattern to how these print out?  I am new to couponing, but last week at CVS I got the 1 week expiration coupons 4 times on different visits, and I never received any of the 2 week expiration coupons.  This week, I have received the 1 week coupons once, and none of the 2 week expiration coupons.

    • Dipsy Gupta says:

IMO CVS tracks ur spending habits . The more you shop at CVS , the more variety of coupons you will receive. Till then , you will continue to receive only the generic coupons.

    • Dipsy is right.  Last week I was puzzled when I got a $1/1 L’eggs and a $2/2 L’eggs from the MCM.  Then I remembered that I had bought a pair of L’eggs pantyhose a couple weeks before, so they do sometimes customize your coupons.

      • Chic68_23 says:

right now my cvs  has all leggs on clearance so if you still have those coupons it would be worth to check it out. ours are 50% off!

        • Anonymous says:

I saw them at one of the stores I go 75% off…  Sad I don’t really need or use these because they even had peelies for $1…  :-P

        • I used them last week because my store had lots of L’eggs at 75% off.  I got three pair of white cotton ribbed socks priced at .92 each, so my MCM Qs gave me an .08 overage on each.  And who couldn’t use a few extra pairs of white socks?

    • Anonymous says:

No real predictable pattern, but sometimes similar coupons to ones you’ve already received will reset on Monday mornings. If you’re pretty new to couponing there, it may take a while for you to get what everyone else is getting :)

  23. Kayla Starrett says:

Can the $5.00/$15.00 beauty purchase include items such as deodorant, body wash and hair color? Or any combination of those items? If so that would mean an awesome bonus for my deal that I’m going to do.

    • Aebrown10 says:

i’ve asked cvs that in the past.  They told me beauty included : make up, deodorant, body wash, lotion, razors, etc.  They said pretty much anything along those lines counted :)

      • Kayla Starrett says:

Awesome! I figured they all fell under that category, but wanted to ask first haha. Thank you for your response :)

        • Anonymous says:

deodarant and razors are not beauty items. they will not even count towards the beauty club

    • Anonymous says:

No to the deodorant, but yes to the other two. Per CVS’ Beauty Club rewards program: “Qualifying beauty purchases include items from the following categories: Cosmetics, Fragrances, Hair Accessories, Hair Appliances, Hair Care, Hair Color, Healthy Skin Care and Skin Care.”

Deodorant and shaving items do not qualify. Hope that helps!

      • Chic68_23 says:

I have used sun tan lotion on beauty for coupons like that at my cvs. it worked great because I had $4 off $20 beauty and $3 off sun lotion so I got to build on those with other coupons!

        • Anonymous says:

The best way to know if an item is valid for a “Beauty Purchase” coupon is if it also would qualify for the Beauty Rewards program. Sunscreen would seem to be skin care, but it may also fall under the same category as shaving and deodorant, which is “healthcare.”

      • Kayla S says:

Awesome! It’s always been a little confusing to know what applies, so I appreciate the response! Thanks! :)

  24. Anonymous says:

Question – for the Bounty, $3/15, will it work if you get 4 of the Bounty 8 packs at $4.99 each??  Or would I need an additional item to bump over the $15 mark?

    • katie77 says:

You would have to get 5.

      • Jordyn's mommy says:

        4 of the bounty at $4.99 each= $19.96   Why would she need 5? confused…

        • katie77 says:

Haha. . .is it sad that I teach pre-calculus?  Yes, you would have to get 4. . .3 wouldn’t work.  With EBs, you can use the 98% rule.   With coupons, you have to have the exact amount or over.

    • 4 packs of the bounty at $4.99 each is already over $15. it’s %19.96

    • Anonymous says:

4 should cover it. That will take you over $15 ($19.96). If what you meant to ask was “can I buy only 3 or do I need to buy 4?” the answer would be 4. It’s a minimum purchase stipulated on the coupon itself, and although we know sometimes those required minimums have some wiggle room when it comes to EBs, that wouldn’t be the case here. 3 would only bring you to $14.97, but you may be able to find a small package of Bounty napkins or similar, cheaper item to get you over the threshold :)

  25. Use the $1/$5 Dawn, Vicks, etc coupon for the Dawn dish soap! They’re on sale for 99 cents. Limit 6.
Buy 6, use 6 of the 50 cents/1 Dawn dish soap coupon from PG 7/29 and the $1 MCM coupon.
    Makes them 32 cents each!

    • Anonymous says:

Unfortunately, we can’t use more than 4 of the PG coupons in a transaction, but that would be a great deal!

      • Anonymous says:

i was thinking the same deal too lol darnit! oh well covergirl is bogo 1/2 off!!

        • Anonymous says:

I wanted to get some CG stuff but there was nothing on clearance and I already have a lot of cosmetics at home…  Lol… :-P

      • Oh, you’re right! Dang it. Thanks!

      • Anonymous says:

OMGosh, I totally forgot about that!  I hope I haven’t made that mistake in the store!  I have so many ECB on rotation now that I often don’t break up my order to save the cashier some work when they are busy even though I let many go ahead of me I still need to get out of there eventually too.  I will make sure going forward that I don’t make that mistake!  So many rules to remember between all the store policies and coupon regulations!  Sometimes my head is just spinning!  ;)

    • Anonymous says:

My newspaper coupon was for $1/2, so I used two of those and 1 $.50/1, then the $1/5 making it $1.50 for 5, or $.30 each.

    • M0fry says:

My P & G had the $1/2 dawn so I can use 3 coupons for 6 bottles plus the $1/$5 CVS coupon making them .32 each

  26. sully says:

i got the 1 off 5 dawn, puffs
and the $3 of 15 tide coupon

    • Anonymous says:

Those are the only ones I got too.  I wish I lived in an area that gave out those other good ones.

      • sully says:

the 1 off $5 dawn and puffs is a good coupon this is what i plan to do

        buy
        (3) dawn soaps .99
        (3) puffs kleenex .88

        total 6.10 ( 8.75% CA tax included)

        used
        (3) dawn .50c
        (1) .50/3 puff coupon
        (1) CVS $1 coupon

        $6.10-3 coupons=3.10

3.10/ 6 items= .52C for each item not bad at all

        • Anonymous says:

          Good idea…thanks for sharing!

          (8.75% tax!!! Damn!!)

        • Anonymous says:

I did something similar to your plan.  I got 4 Dawn soaps and 1 Puffs.  Used 4 MQ of $0.50 off (didn’t use the Puffs one because I have plenty of tissue papers at home but wanted to complete the required amount to use the CVS Q).  So, it was $2.84 for all of them plus tax…  Not bad wither ;)
