  1. Guest says:

I know this is from last week, but can someone confirm that the Dove deal (spend $15, get $5EB) is valid this week? I ask because when I shopped this week, the bottom of my receipt said “Amount toward deal : $17, Amount needed to earn deal: $13″. If the EB deal is still valid are the prices still the same? Wish I would have noticed before I left the store, otherwise I could have checked…..

  2. Dar says:

Can someone tell me how to check the amount I have on my Beauty Club account? I am new to couponing…Thanks

  3. Kellie says:

I went to CvS today and had my whole shopping plan lines out for the spend $30 on P&G products, get $10 extra bucks. My subtotal before coupons was $30.72. I then gave my coupons, feeling so excited About my $10 eb. I paid, waited for my eb to print and it was a no go. I asked a manager an he said that my subtotal after coupons has to be $30!! It messed my whole plan! I still got some great deals… Has anyone else had this problem?!?

    • Anonymous says:

Sorry to hear you had that problem.  I would review your sales receipt and verify that your purchases of P&G totaled $30 pre coupons and if so, i would call the CVS customer service line @ 1-888-607-4287 to inquire about it.  they may be able to add the $10 to your card.

  4. At my CVS, the Bounty Basic 8 pk rings at $3.94. Possibly a mistake, but check it out!

  5. Anonymous says:

Are all of the Maybelline lines of Volum’Express Mascaras supposed to be $5?  I went yesterday and only the “Mega Plush” was ringing up at $5, all others rang up at $7.39.

    • Anonymous says:

I had the same problem.  I think it has something with the way the items were coded in the system.  If the name didn’t have VXP (for Volume Express) in it, it rang up full price.  I had to show the cashier that the price tag and the ad said Volum’ Express, but didn’t specify a kind.  Also, Mega Plush was the only kind pictured, but I bought Colossal Volume and that rang up at $5, so it’s not just one kind.  They had to price modify it for me.

      • Anonymous says:

I went ahead and bought the Mega Plush anyway but I really wanted the Falsies (which say Volum’Express also).  I showed the cashier the ad but she said it was only for the Mega Plush.  I also told her that the ad didn’t specify and that the shelf tag didn’t either and that it was posted under the Colossal Volume and Falsies.  She had just finished checking out another couponer who had various problems with her transaction so I just l let it be.  She didn’t seem to want to help me out much :/

CVS Advisor Panel – has anyone done this? Is it legitimate? Is it worth the ECB received? About how much in ECB do u receive per survey? How long do the surveys take? Thoughts?

    • Anonymous says:

I have signed up and haven’t been sent any surveys.  I think it’s legitimate and WHY NOT?  It’s free and you have nothing to lose.

      • Anonymous says:

thanks elizarae for responding!  i was curious if it was worth the time, as i am becoming quite obsessed w cvs… LOL!

    • Coupon78602 says:

I love it!   Once every 3 months, I get a survey and get 5 or 10 ecb for my time!!

  7. Want Some Sugar says:

i am confuse about the fiber one/ general mills cereal bar coupons for cvs. she says to buy 5 box  and I tried it out and it didnt’ come out to what she said.

  8. jill says:

Couldn’t you use 2 of the P&G 75cents(off one crest toothpaste)  on the Crest whitening and get them both for free with the Extra Bucks?

  9. Roci_R says:

Sorry if this has already been asked, but does anyone know if the %off Q’s issued by CVS will work on the pantene shampoo/ conditioner that is $4.99 and then you get a styler free? Also, can you use the $3/2 pantene MQ on the buy shampoo get styler free?
I’m just trying to figure out the Best way to group my purchases to save the most $ :o)
    TIA

Hoping someone can help me, I don’t know where else to post. I haven’t been receiving any Beauty purchase coupons. Also when I check my CVS account online I don’t see any thing relating to how much I’ve spent on Beauty purchases only my Summer 2012 purchases. I am 99% sure I’ve spent over 50 on my Beauty purchases but I can’t seem to locate any total of beauty purchases. Even on my receipt it doesn’t tell me how much I’ve spent on Beauty. Am I doing something wrong? Also, I’ve signed up for the Beauty Club online already.

    • Trenety12 says:

Contact CVS by phone and they will look it for you and see if you are signed up.

    • Anonymous says:

It is possible that if you signed up for the beauty club online your card may not be linked to the account so when you purchase beauty items they are not registering to your beauty club account.  Call CVS’s customer service line at 1-888-607-4287 for help or try to go online and link your card to your beauty club account.

Today I got a $3/1 CoverGirl Natureluxe coupon and a $5/15 cosmetics coupon from the red machine.  Am I allowed to use both in the same transaction, like this?:

Buy 1 CoverGirl Natureluxe lip balm at $7.49
Buy 1 Covergirl Flipstick Duo at $8.00

Use $5/15 cosmetics coupon from the red machine
Use $3/1 Natureluxe coupon from the red machine
Use $3/2 CoverGirl manufacturer coupon from P&G
    Get $3 ECB

    Total before coupons=$15.49
Total after coupons and ECB= $1.49

  12. Emilyskeeters says:

I just looked at the My CVS Pharmacy portion of the CVS website and under My Savings & Rewards it lists rewards for summer 2012 spending and Beauty Club spending. Under Beauty Club spending it says I have spent more than $50, so how do I unlock the coupon? How do you redeem the 2% coupon from summer 2012 spending?

    • nyleve says:

To the best of my knowledge, the 2% ECB coupons print at the end of every quarter.  The $5 for $50 spent on beauty coupon prints on the bottom of your receipt.  If you just passed the threshhold of $50, it should print on your next purchase receipt.

    • Anonymous says:

The beauty club reward takes 48 hours to print.  I read that somewhere on the website when I signed up for beauty club.  HTH

    • Anonymous says:

This is just a summary of your earnings. For the Summer Savings, you’ll get your reward quarterly, issued in an email, or it will print out at the coupon machine :) As for the Beauty rewards, it’s possible that it will just take a couple more days to print.

  13. Anonymous says:

Does anyone know if the 5/15 cosmetic coupon we got this week a tthe MCM, will it work w the simple facial products deal of spend $15 get $5 ecb? Initially I thought only cosmetic items, but saw someone was able to use on dermasilk face stuff under the herbal essence post.

I’m trying to plan my trip before my coupon expires tomorrow :)

    • Anonymous says:

No. Cosmetics would be make-up items. Sorry :(

      • Anonymous says:

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! There is nothing worse than when your plan does not work out and you are scrambling last minute!

        • Indy51 says:

I used my 5/15 coupon on the Wet N Wild Beauty Train Case (I wanted the cases more than the makeup) they were marked 9.99. I bought two and used the 1.00 off coupon inside the cases, my 5/15 cvs coupon and my 5.00 simple ecb.  The cases rang up buy one get one 50% off so 14.98 before coupons and 2.98 after coupons for both cases. I wish i could get 2 more!!!!

  14. Sabrinaxceleste says:

Went to CVS last night and had to scrap my trip. Is this just my store or what, because I haven’t seen anyone else point this out.

The only Gilettere Shave Gel I saw for 2.99 at my store was the smaller can, which if I remember, was about 2.5oz or so. Now, I even asked the cashier- he said that if it’s under 3oz, it’s considered travel size. The $1/1 coupons specify they can’t be used on travel or trial size.

): I’m confused. Are you people getting the larger cans for 2.99? Or do your coupons not exclude travel size?

    • Anonymous says:

The ad says “prices start at $2.99″, so they’re saying that the smaller size is part of the promotion.  If you want to use your coupon, you will have to buy one of the larger sizes.  Sorry your trip didn’t go as planned!

      • Sabrinaxceleste says:

Yessums, I knew that much about the ad! :) But in the scenario that the blog post says, it says to get the 2.99 shave gel and use the coupon. I’m surprised that no one else has commented on having a problem with that.

Looking at the blog again, however, it looks like the scenario was changed to use Clairol products instead! I swear it said Gilette Shave Gel @2.99 yesterday! Lol.

    • Arelycupones says:

I couldn’t do the deal either. The Gillete products for $2.99 is not included in the EB deal.

    • Anonymous says:

Yea, my store had the same prices. The 2.99 were the trial sized Gillette. I grabbed two of the larger bottles anyways for 4.99 instead, still reached the 30 limit and got my 10EB. My OOP was still only only 5 for all those goodies. I’ve seen it mentioned that other people have had to do the same thing elsewhere on the blog.

    • Anonymous says:

I noticed the same thing too so I decided to get the cheaper Gillette.  There were .55/1 coupons in the paper a while back that I used on them!  Check your papers, I don’t remember which insert they were from.

  15. Amanda says:

I did my coupons run at CVS  today and the cashier told me that the Sally Handsen products weren’t considered cosmetics. I just put back a nail polish to lower the total. Is this  true?

When you say “didn’t work” what exactly happened? No EB printed? This was a scenario written, assuming it was participating. Was there a sign saying it was? And, if so, did you ask the store why it didn’t work?

      • Anonymous says:

Dear KCL, Sorry for the delay – I just got my response from corporate today.  I sent them an email as the store itself wasn’t helpful.  Yes, at the time no EB printed but I did send an email last week and today I was credited $4 EBs (2 x $2). YAY, thanks goodness I didn’t return them!  :)  Thanks again.

HELP!!!  I went to cvs yesterday, i bought $15 worth of Simple facial care. I received the $5 ecb. But on the bottom of my receipt, instead of saying offer limit reached, it says “Amount toward this reward 16.08 and amount needed to earn reward 15.00″ Does that mean that there is NOT a limit of one per household with card on this Simple face care? The printed Ad, says that there is a limit is 1. but my receipt looks like i can buy $15 more and get another $5 ECB. Someone please help!!!

On the ad is says the Maybelline Volume express mascara,
Sensational Lip or Shadow quad are 2/$10 this week. So I got the mascara and
the sensational lip gloss and it rung up the mascara as 1@$ 5.00 but the lip
gloss regular price. I didn’t realize it until the transaction was finished so I
went back to ask the cashier why it hadn’t been 5.00 dollars. The cashier even
went with me to see the sign that said 2/$10…then he said something about
having to get two of the same thing? …but nowhere on the sign does it say
that (and then the mascara did ring up at $5 by itself…). They let me return it
(I kind of just wanted a price adjustment but they didn’t offer)…Has anyone
else had that problem? Or is the ad wrong…

I had the same issue yesterday.  I bought 1 Volum’ Express Colossal Volume, 1 Volum’ Express Falsies and 1 Volum’ Express Mega Plush and only the Colossal Volume rang up at $5.  The other 2 rang up full price.  So, I just had the cashier scan the Colossal Volume 3 times and just got 3 of them in order to get them for $5 each.  I thought maybe you had to buy 3 of the same thing, but I think it’s an error in their system because the Mega Plush was scanned first and rang up full price and the Colossal Volume scanned second and rang up $5.

I went to CVS today and knew something wasn’t right with my transaction as it went negative.  Looked at my receipt when I got home and realized the clerk took off my $10 ECB twice!  I want to go back to the store tomorrow and get it fixed but I don’t know how much trouble it will cause.  I also had a $5/15 Q I was going to use but forgot all about when it went negative.  What to do?  I owe the store at least $5!

    • Most likely, they won’t know how to fix it or won’t be able to fix it.  I’m like you, I’d want to fix the situation somehow.  I would probably just let my next $5 EB expire just to even things out.

      • Angela White says:

        That’s crazy talk.

        • What is crazy about it?  It’s true that the store would probably not know how or be able to reverse the transaction.  I was just saying that if that were the case I would still try to even things out somehow (i.e. not use the next 5.00EB I received).  I know alot of people feel differently, and I’ve even seen brags on this site about benefitting from cashier mistakes, but I don’t think my attempt to be ethical is “crazy talk”.

  24. I am a new couponer and I need some advice.  I want to purchase two Pantene products and receive the two free stylers.  When you add these items up before coupons/discounts they total over $20.00.  Would I be able to use my $4.00 off purchase over $20.00 coupon or would this not work since the stylers were free with the shampoo/conditioner purchase?  Thank you.

    • The styler won’t count towards your $20.  The amount that counts is before coupons, but they do use the sale/promo price.  In this case, the sale/promo price is $0.  Is this a $4 off ANY $20 Q?  If so, you could throw in some Bic razors if you got the $3/1 Bic Qs.  The Bic are BOGO 50%, so two packs (reg $3.99) would add 5.98 towards that $20 total, but the two $3/1 MQs make them free in the end.

    • Anonymous says:

The $4/$20 is based on the total before coupons. Since the styler is free “before coupons” it will not count.

ok i cant find an answer in all these comments… but will the % off coupon work with the pantene FREE styler when you buy shampoo or conditioner??

    • My guess is no for two reasons. 1. It’s part pf a promotion this week and those coupons will not work on those or sale items. and 2. Usually when an item is free the amount is deducted immediately from your total, so there is nothing to actually apply that coupon to. Hope that helps.

      • Anonymous says:

i may try it just to see. since the wording isnt like the other bogo free items today they do say sale b1g1free. this just says free styler with the purchase of x item

        • Anonymous says:

when it says free with they will price adjust the item to zero therefore, any % off zero is zero.  HTH
P.S. the item also would not count any value toward spend certain $ get ECB. had this happen with a schick deal.

Can someone help me out with this?  If I have the 5/15 cosmetic coupon and 2 1/5 Covergirl CVS Qs does that mean in order to use all three I’d have to spend $25?  Or just 15?  Thanks.

    • Anonymous says:

To the best of my knowledge you have to meet each coupon’s requirements so yes you would have to spend $25.  CVS does not let you “double dip”  ie you will not be able to save $7 spending only the $15.

For some reason, I am unable to reply to some of the replies to my earlier post re: counting ECB/UPs/RR twice, so I am posting a new comment.

I want to be clear that in NO way do I mean any disrespect to KCL or any other couponer out there.  I REALLY appreciate all of the hard work that goes into the KCL site and the input from all the other couponers as well.  I was just noticing that SOME of the posters were perhaps getting a little pulled in by the rewards game that these stores offer by claiming their rewards on both the front end deal when the reward was earned and again on the second deal when the reward is used as payment. Whichever way you choose to look at it–claiming when earned or claiming when used—the reward should only be claimed ONCE.   I agree with LauraD that if you earn the rewards and then do not use the rewards coupon, you have not saved on the front end or the back end.  That, my fellow couponers, is precisely what the retailers are banking on because for every one of us who use our every reward, there are countless who lose them or simply never use them.

    • LauraD says:

This was a great topic/point to bring up EveryG.  Glad you did :)  And you spot on with the “countless who lose them or simply never use them” and that that’s what the stores are banking on.  Doesn’t it make you feel super smart when you don’t fall for that trap?  LOL

    • Anonymous says:

I daily read comments posted where ECBs, RRs are double counted.  Great point.

    • Anonymous says:

EveryG, funny u posted this… I am new to couponing and just started a spreadsheet to track my savings. I don’t want to double dip my rewards so am counting them towards my savings when I actually use them. It seems u and LauraD agree. Would love to hear what others r doing if different?

Also, I noticed most spreadsheets u find OL, take the savings directly off the receipt. I am doing this for time, but we all know stores like cvs are over priced! So that # is inflated as well. If I needed something right away I would go to target, just bc it is so much cheaper in daily prices.

  30. Terris says:

When you say that the price is the “online price” does that mean you have to buy it on line or can you get the same price in the store? Do you have to print the on line price and take it into the store or can you just tell them?

    • Anonymous says:

I think what KCL is trying to do is give an estimated price to show how the deal would work if an actual price is not posted in the ad. Every store/region may not have the same price so it is impossible to know what the actual store price will be for everyone. Use the sample/online price as a guideline in your store and adjust accordingly for the actual price in your store.

    • Anonymous says:

We will usually get an online price when the ad does not specify one. There are many deals in the ad that will simply say “Buy One Get One Free” but not give us a price. It’s nice to have a number to work with to see just how great our savings will be, so we grab the price off their website :)

An observation:  I have seen some postings here of people getting great deals but wonder about some of their true savings.  I think we can all agree that for the most part the items we buy at the drug stores are more expensive than at Walmart, but when we use our coupons and get ECB, up rewards, or register rewards,, we can really make a great deal. However, when you purchase an item at CVS, for example, and use ECB as payment, can you really count that payment with ECB in your savings?  I know it reduces the out of pocket costs, but does it really count as  as a savings?  Say I purchased toothpaste last week for $2.75 and received a $2 ECB and had a 75cent coupon then I had a 100% savings because ultimately the toothpaste was free.  However, if I go this week and use that same $2 ECB, I cannot count it as part of my savings because I would be counting it twice.  It becomes like I saved $2 last week and $2 this week when in reality I only saved $2 last week.  In my opinion, the $2 ECB counts only when earned. When I use it to pay for a new order, I do not count it in my savings because I am now using it like cash. Does this make sense?  Thoughts???

    • Anonymous says:

I have the SAME feelings as you.  I think many people have a skewed perception of their savings because of rewards – and that’s the whole reason these stores have these reward programs – you feel like you’re saving more than you actually are.  It’s very common in the Brag Lounge that you’ll see someone with a $20 total after coupons, then they’ll use $20 in rewards and get $10 back, and they think they MADE $10, when the reality is they actually PAID $10!  I ALWAYS count my earned rewards as savings (i.e. rewards that print after purchase) and when I use rewards I count them as payment (i.e. using rewards to lower my OOP) to make sure I only count my savings once.

      • Pause85 says:

I think of it as a “friend” holding on to $10-20 for me, then asking that friend later to spot me a couple bucks.

In all honesty, most Coupon Queens tell you right off the bat that you will instantly lose $20 (physically real dollars) by using these reward systems.

    • Anonymous says:

Completely agree with you….Same thing I think of when I see some scenarios. From my part I dont included them into my savings when used as a form of  payment. They were in fact part of an old savings deal. :) my opinion

    • LauraD says:

I agree 99% with what you said.  The 1% disagreement comes in on WHEN to count the ECB/UP/RR.  I only count them when I USE them because if I EARNED it but didn’t use it, I’m out that “savings”.  To me, ECB/UP/RRs are icing on the cake. The underlying deal has to be as good as what I can get elsewhere.

Having said this, I would not ask KCL or anyone else to change how they present a deal.  As long as they’re consistent about it, I can figure out if it’s a good deal for ME :)

      • Anonymous says:

         Well said Laura!

      • Silvernx211 says:

I’m with you on this one LauraD, I also only count them when I USE them. ;)

I only count my ECB, Register Rewards when I spend them, they are like cash to me. I don’t count them when I get them.

        • Anonymous says:

i always say it’s LIKE getting them at this price …. but i have to factor in what i paid …. but there’s been a few times i’ve gone and used coupons and got ecb’s i wasn’t expecting and that’s such a thrill …. but i spend my ecb’s like cash and trade out each week … like spend 10 this week to earn another 10 to use next week .. or however many

      • Anonymous says:

I agree with you…  I count them when I use them…  I don’t like thinking that I saved when I got them because I actually didn’t.  ;) And, like you, I don’t really care how they present it here or any other blog, I’m still being informed that there’s an ECB coming out if I purchase a certain product, which is the main idea of posting the deals here… IMO… ;)

      • Anonymous says:

Agreed!  I decided when I started figuring this whole thing out that my original OOP was a wash probably more like 20-40 while i was trying to roll and break everything up.  Now I rarely break up a shopping trip (I may make two trips to reduce my own confusion) I have plenty of ECB to use and get more each time so my OOP is pretty consistently less than 10 even if I am buying things like COQ10 or Mega Red!  Again,  I LOVE CVS!

    • Anonymous says:

Makes sense :) I only count my savings once when factoring in my own literal out-of-pocket expenses. However, for every EB earned, there are a 100+ different ways to use it later and “save.” So for the purposes of simplifying the bottom line, while staying as general as possible, we do apply that ultimate savings to the original deal.. if that makes sense ;)

    • ScrappinJay says:

I totally agree with this! I only count my ecbs when they print. Except for when i get a $5 beauty reward ecb for when you spend $50. I count that one when i use it.

    • Anonymous says:

I do as you do.  I count whatever ECBs I use as payment as cash OOP and take the new ECBs off at the end of the trip as savings.  Agree that people double count all the time.  Nicely commented a time or two, but usually get bashed.

    • Dawn Harris says:

If I use $2 EB and got $2 EB back, that is truly 100% savings. And if I do it every week, then I am going to count it every week. But I also only count my actual OOP CASH as money I spent. I might spend $2 EB this week and find a $2 MM next week, so never do I count out the EB I spent. If I spend cash, that is what counts against my percentage of savings.

  33. Anonymous says:

If CVS has a sale, for example, Buy one item get one free, does the price of both items count toward the $5/$15 or $4/$20 coupons OR since one of the items is free, does only the item you are paying for count?  I know when you use a coupon BOGO, the price of both will count because the free item comes off at the end, but I am not sure when the BOGO is a sale?

  34. Pause85 says:

I’m kinda shocked that you haven’t talked about the Crest 3D white stripes.  I found a $10 MIR in an insert and CVS is listing ALL Crest 3D white an additional savings of $10 with card.  $40-60 retail price minus $20 in savings equals a good deal in my mind.  Even if it’s 30-50% off.

    • Pause85 says:

My apologizes the website for the MIR now says $15 off. So $25 savings!  So 42% to 63% savings!

There are actually 2 MIR available right now.  there is a 10 dollar link on the CVS website and the other is at the crest 3D website directly listed in the 7/29 P&G.  I think since one is for the 2 hr and a handful of more expensive ones and the other is for the basic 3D and one is for july and the other for august I think you could technically submit both?

I used to get 4 papers, but that was getting to be too much and I found myself using more printable coupons than anything so I cut back, we are a family of 3 and I’m finding 1 paper to be pretty sufficient for our needs, I still use way more printable coupons than paper coupons on average

I am still a bit new to this…Does anyone know what cvs classifies as a “beauty purchase?”  I have a 5 dollars off a 15 dollar purchase and was wondering if it works towards shampoo?  I’m wondering if I can use it for the dove deal?

    • Absolutely! Shampoo, conditioners, hair color etc all count towards beauty purchases. Body washes and lotions and facial products do as well. Many, many things do if you are not sure ask the cashier, at my CVS they have a list by the registers.

  38. Sally says:

I have a $3/$15 Tide, Bounty, Charmin, Gillette, Olay or Pantene CVS coupon from last week. Would I be able to apply that to the P&G ECB deal? The total for the Gillette in the KCL scenario would be $14.95. I’m guessing I will have to add another Gillette to the mix, but thought I would ask. Thanks!

    • Anonymous says:

Unlike Extrabucks thresholds, you DO have to meet the minimum on purchase-based coupons. So, yes, you would have to add something in :)

  39. Jewels Stone says:

If I have a 20% off beauty, will this reduce the amount for the $3 EB on $10 purchase. If I was right at $10 prior to the 20%, will I need to get another item or will the EB still print?

    • Anonymous says:

To be eligible for EBs, your total needs to reach the threshold before any coupons. I hope that answers your question! :)

When we break down the individual items that are part of an EB deal, along with their final prices, we apply the percent savings from the EB to the item, assuming you met the purchase threshold for that item alone. It is our way of comparing apples to apples, so to speak, so you have an anticipated bottom line on each product, that more accurately reflects your savings. With your calculation, that would be correct, IF you were only buying the 2 and not shooting for the EB. Hope that makes sense. For further clarification, please see the note at the top of the section explaining our calculation method :)

  43. Sally Jewell says:

I have a question about the %-off coupon… which coupons reduce the amount saved? I think I remember KCL saying the 5 beautyclub eb and $ / x-amount coupons reduce the amount but MQ & regular extrabucks don’t reduce. Is that right?

I want to the Sally Hansen & Dermsilk eb deal and i’m trying to figure out what my oop will be.. Here’s what I think it will be…

    1 DermaSilk $29.99
    1  CoverGirl $8.00 (sale-price)
1 Single eye shadow CoverGirl $3.49
1 sally Hansen nail effects $9.89
    total =$51.37 (total $43.37 in non-sale items)
    -$1 crt MCM $1.00 off $5 Covergirl

    -$5 crt MCM $5.00 off $15 cosmetics
    -$5.00 DermaSilk  coupon
    -$3/2 CoverGirl
-$20 in extra bucks (not beauty-club ebs)
    =$9.37

then 25% coupon would take off about $9, if I’m correct about how the coupon works. I hope it’s not to good to be true.. because I would get $16 ebs printed on my receipt plus $5 beautyclub eb 2 days… so it would be FREE without “losing” any extra-bucks.

    TIA for any help!

    • Anonymous says:

My understanding is that the following will affect your %-off discount:
      “purchase-based” coupons, like $4/$20
      Beauty Club Rewards
      and Green Bag Tag rewards

Hope that helps! Let us know how you do!

    • Sally Jewell says:

CVS has a “98% rule” meaning that if the total (before tax)  is 98% of the number needed to get the extra bucks, it will print out! So, for this deal your amount before coupons needs to be at least $29.40. HTHs

    • Anonymous says:

Looks like it should work!  The ECB should still print even though you don’t hit $30.  CVS gives you ECBs if you are within 98% of the spending amount…so, if you need to spend $30 to get $10 back, you need to spend at least $29.40 (98% of $30).

    • Anonymous says:

Sally & Barb covered it! :)

i would like to try this deal and i have a 25% of purchase cvs cpn. but i dont know if it will apply because of the sale, any ideas

      • Kimmie says:

The 25% off coupon will not work on items that are on sale or give ECBs.

        • Anonymous says:

The 25% off coupon will not affect any ECB deals, but, you are right, it will not work on sale items. So if you find a deal where it says spend so much and get something back, as long as the items are regularly priced, you can use a % off coupon and still get ECBs. HTH

        • Anonymous says:

Just to clarify, the percent-off coupons WILL work on EB-producing items, as long as they are regular price :)

For the B1G1 Nivea for Men facial care items, I buy a Q10 mens lotion for my husband.  Another blog says I can use the $3 off any Nivea Q10 product for this item but I am not sure if it will work.  The other times I have used coupons, it has always said Nivea for Men not just Nivea.  Anyone have an idea if it will work?

    • Anonymous says:

If it says ANY Nivea Q10 product, then it should work on men & women’s Q10 products.

    • Anonymous says:

I am planning on doing this, and since CVS allows for using a coupon on free items in B1G1 deals, I will buy 2 Nivea Men’s Q10 face pretty stuff, and use 2 of the $3/1 Q10 coupons. :)

Ok, I’m planning my trip for tomorrow and I’m a little bit confused on the Gillette shave gel.  The coupon states “Gillette Fusion ProSeries Skin Care Item or Gillette Fusion ProGlide Shave Prep”…the product on the ad says “Gillette Fusion”…sooo we can use the Gillette Fusion ProSeries coupon on that item?

    • Anonymous says:

Check what the product says in the store.  If it says Gillette Fusion ProSeries or Gillette Fusion ProGlide Shave Prep, then you can use the coupon on it.  It sounds like both are a specific Gillette product line – ProSeries & ProGlide…if that makes sense.

    • Anonymous says:

Not knowing in advance all of the items that will be participating in a sale, we list all potential coupons. If the the ProSeries are participating the coupon will work. If not, then we’ll update the deal accordingly once we know for sure :)

        • Canes1999 says:

its ok i was confused at first also, good question to follow the rules like we all should

    • Anonymous says:

That is a typo that we had fixed in our preview but didn’t get updated here. It is not specific to Soleil. Just to clarify, if a coupon does have a specific product listed, you CANNOT use it on a different product. And we would never purposely suggest that. If you see that here, it is an error. So thanks for checking!

I thought the Sally Hansen nail polish coupon from All You won’t work at CVS since it has the “Available at Walmart” on it.

    • Anonymous says:

“Available at Walmart” is similar to an advertisement. It is not a coupon restriction. If it said “redeem ONLY at Walmart” it would be a different story. This is a manufacturer coupon, good at any store that accepts manufacturer coupons :)

Even with their new policy of no coupons with other store’s logo?

      • Anonymous says:

According to their newest policy that says they won’t take manufacturer’s coupons with another retailer’s logo on it, these coupons won’t work.  My store has been enforcing this for quite a while now.  Anything that has a logo or says “Redeemable at” or “available at”  isn’t allowed.

        • Anonymous says:

This is copied/pasted directly from their current polcy on the CVS website:

CVS/pharmacy will not accept third party manufacturers’ coupons with another retailer’s logo “

I think again it goes with who u get at the register.  The way they interpret the q.  I have gone and set aside a q that had a wags logo on it and the girl said why don’t you use that one and I told her but she insisted her store mgr says if it says mq on top with a 5 before it she can take it.  They are the friendliest so I love to shop there but as with anywhere there are discrepancies on how things are interpreted.  And I have only been at this 7 months!

        • Lauren says:

when you print it the logo is not on it. it just means you can’t use a store coupon from another store in their store more or less.

I have a $2/$10 CVS beauty coupon and a $2/$10 CVS any skin care coupon.

    • Anonymous says:

You would have to spend $20 to use both.

    • Anonymous says:

Rebekah, if you look closely at those coupons you’ll notice a restriction about only using one “purchase-based” coupon per transaction. You would need to satisfy each on its own.

  58. Jeanette says:

For the $3 Dove shampoo with $5 ECB on $15 scenario, would it work to purchase six bottles and use three $3 off 2 coupons, if seperated into two trips (coupon is max 2 per trip)?  This would make it $4 for 6 bottles, instead of 5, after coupons and ECB.

Just buy multiple papers if they are in your area’s inserts.  Usually the bigger areas get better coupons.  I buy a paper for an area 100miles south of me sometimes to get the better coupons.

For example jdubnkate- I have our local paper delivered which is 1.50 each at the newstand, but I found a coupon code online getting Sundays only, delivered for .50 cents each for a year. But, those coupons are never no where near as good as Chica’gos paper, which Chicago is 90 miles from me….but after searching online, I got a deal, same thing, .50 Sunday only delivered, but at the newstand they are 3.00 each, ad the coupons are awesome!!! So worth looking around, calling around for a deal!

            • NoOdle says:

if you are buying a paper that cost $1.00 which you need for a $1 coupon. is it really worth it?
I am just not sure if buying 8 papers is worth the trip.

      • Jeanette says:

It depends.  I am pretty specific with the products I buy, so I will scope out the coupons in the inserts ahead of time on this site to decide if its worth buying papers.  If not, I will order just the coupons I want from a coupon clipping service online. For under $5 (the cost of 2 local papers), I can order multiples of all the coupons I need for the weekly deals and any other good ones that came out in the inserts.

    • That’s exactly what I was thinking when I saw the deal.
