If you want to take the Staples ad to Walmart there is a moneymaker on the bic 2 pack for 25c if you use the $1/2 stationary item coupon. You’ll get 50c back for every 2 packs you get :-)

  2. Suzy says:

I had a great experience at  Staples this week.  They took all my bic coupons (8 of them in 3 transactions thanks to my husband and son) and let me have the overage, and no problems with my highlighter coupons.  I have never used coupons at staples before this week.  Guess I should stick to the one store :).

  3. Kylie says:

Does anyone here donate school supplies for kids in need? I never have before… but I’m curious if I need to write that off on my taxes? I have a little brother in 5th grade so I was planning to bring stuff to his school, but now there’s an ad on the radio saying bring your donations to our local mall…What would you suggest? Anyone have any advice? TIA!

    • Amyhill007 says:

I donate to multiple places plus my boys school collects supply’s for a school in Brazil that they sponser. I personally do not deduct these items from our taxes. Honestly any school and a lot of schools need them so wherever you donate will be a good choice. ;)

  4. Christina says:

I can’t find the Office max deals on their site (in their online weekly ad). This means they aren’t in the actual ad so I can’t price match at Wal-mart. Am I right on this?

    • Anonymous says:

OfficeMax’s deals can vary by region, so you should be able to price match the brand name prices of items at Walmart that were in your area’s ad.

      • Amyhill007 says:

I am in Colo. and our ad is different then yours this week, however they are doing their “fit everything in this brown bag and get 20% off” this week. I got to use it on the 10 ream of paper box deal. So I paid $36 for the box, with 10 pckgs of paper, got my five free composition books, and will get $34 back in Max Rewards. ;) We also had $5 off a $25 purchase coupon but I forgot to use it. ;) No need to buy any printer paper for quite awhile. ;) ;)

  5. I was wondering if you can use stack coupons at Office Max. I have a coupon for dollar off Sharpe highlighters, and they have a store coupon that has the highlighters for a dollar. Also if they are out at my OfficeMax can i just use their store coupon at Walmart?

    • Anonymous says:

It’s up to OfficeMax if they’ll stack coupons– often office supply stores don’t have a published in-store coupon policy for customers, so it can vary by location.

As to Walmart, they only accept store coupons that state a certain price for a certain product, such as “$1.99 for Colgate toothpaste, 6 oz”.

    • Lahainaluvr says:

2 weeks ago at Office Max I tried to use a coupon on Purell hand sanitizer and was told by a manager they do not take coupons on sale items. (This was in Las Vegas, NV.)

  6. Jordan Moose says:

I went to staples today to get some of their great deals. I got two of the Frixion Highlighters and tried to use my coupons, and the cashier refused to take my second one. She said she couldnt because the coupon states “Cannot be combined with other offers or coupons”. I also used a $1/2 Bic coupons. She told me that she shouldnt have scanned the first one either because she used the Bic coupon, but she would go ahead. Was she right? or should she have taken the coupon?

    • Sherman Traci says:

Jordan – I had this same problem last week, I simply called the manager over, showed them their coupon policy, and everything was fine.

The unfortunate reality is that Staples isn’t always a top “couponing” type of store.  Their team members probably aren’t as used to have us KRAZY ladies and gents in their stores as often.  Have patience with them, smile a TON, and donate anything you have left over that you get for cheap/free to a worthy cause.  :)  Hope this helps!

      • Jordan Moose says:

Thanks! Im hoping that I can price match them at my walmart. I have to drive almost an hour to get to all the major stores so I can only go once a week. I was kinda bummed, but it wasnt the first time this has happened somewhere and im sure it wont be the last. Just wanted to make sure that I was understanding the coupon right.  :)

    • courtingcouponing says:

I’ve had trouble at Staples before also. I’m going to try again tomorrow though and bring the coupon policy along.

    • Selatran says:

I tried going to staples and attempted to use the bic coupon as well as the frxion one but the cashier stated that they don’t accept coupons for sale items… I was wondering if this was true or she was misinformed??
