Walgreens Extreme Couponing (Week of 8/26): $5.00 or Less

Walgreens Extreme Couponing (Week of 8/26): $5.00 or Less

Welcome to this post where we will lay out some extreme couponing deals that will cost you about $5.00 each week! First, here’s everything you need to know about shopping at Walgreens:

Walgreens allows one manufacturer coupon and one store coupon per product. You may use Walgreens Register Rewards in addition to these coupons. The Register Rewards print like a Catalina on a little machine near the cash register. The most important thing to remember when coupon shopping at Walgreens is that you have to have as many items to purchase as you have coupons, including any Register Rewards you want to use. We often use “filler” (cheap, extra items) so that we have enough items to purchase.

Before shopping at Walgreens, you might want to review the Walgreens How-To Video. Walgreens is certainly the hardest drugstore to shop, but it has the best deals! What I like most is that you can repeat the deals and get more product. The limits are just one per transaction, so you can get more than one item–just don’t clear the shelves! Here’s a link to the coupon policy.

Had a 15% coupon in my email on top of the reg sales and 20%off if you used their store brand. Went back this morning for mac and cheese and purex.

  2. guest says:

Wag Sept Savings book- $1 off with purchase of 2 Kraft Zesty Italian dressing 16 oz, Mayo or Miracle Whip 30 oz.

I missed out on saving an extra $1 because I didn’t read the details with the Kraft dressing coupon.

  3. Carly W says:

I did this deal today, but they wouldn’t let me use the Stayfree coupons because it was for $2.00 off and only rang up for $1.99. Oh well, I’ll just use my coupon at CVS where it’s on sale for $2. Thanks KCL!

    • Erin Scott says:

Their policy is to adjust the coupon value to $1.99. I am often in stores where the cashiers don’t know the stores’ policies about coupon acceptance. Ask for the manager when this happens and if the manager doesn’t know the policy either (because that happens as well), decline to continue the sale and contact the corporate office for your Walgreen’s district.

I just returned from my trip to Walgreens. A “GUEST” posted earlier about a scenario using the Velveeta shells and cheese, the Kraft dressings and the Kraft Mayo. I used his/her suggestion and it worked!! Thanks!! However, the dressing and the velveeta were not in my sales paper, only the Mayo. The Velveeta was ringing up 2/$4 but the dressing was ringing up regular price $3.49 , I think. They are part of “BONUS BUYS” and you need the WAG app to get them or I think you can print it from the online weekly ad @ Walgreens.com I do not have a smart phone so I do not have the app and did not bring the online printout but when I asked my FRIENDLY store manager about it, he kindly pulled it up on his app and did an overide on the Kraft Dressing for me. (Yeah!! Thanks Jeremy)
    I bought:
    2 kraft Mayo @ 2/$6 = $6 – $1/2 WAG Q and – (2) $1 Man Q = $3
    4 Velveeta @ 2/$4 = $8 – (2) $1/2 WAG Q and (2) $1 Man Q = $4
    4 Kraft Dressing @ 2/4 = $8 – (2) $1/2 WAG Q and (2) $1/2 Man Q = $4
Total $11 + tax and received $10 RR
If you have 4 Velveeta Man Q you can go as cheap as $9 and make it a $1 MM
I spent 10 minutes looking for the Kraft Mayo Q in the WAG booklet and finally realized it is with the Kraft Dressing Q. Although it says limit one, it adjusted the price on all the products I purchased with just the one scan of the Q(s) and I did not need to do separate transactions.

My velveeta shells and cheese coupon says its only redeemable at walmart and the mayo coupon. Can those be used at walgreens?

  6. fishinggirl9699 says:

how do you get the “book” for wal green? i see it mentioned but do not see how to obtain

  7. Sarah Weatherford Watkins says:

I have never done a deal like the velveeta before. So you are positive that the $1/2 coupon applies to every set of two velveeta shells and cheese? Could I get 10 and get $1/2 which would equal out to $5 off?

  8. heavnbound says:

How do you get, for instance, 2 coupons for Kraft mayo? I’m assuming you need 2 computers because now that I’ve printed one off, I can’t find it again. Bummer.

    • TexasMama says:

Usually if you scroll down through the coupons the ones you’ve already printed are listed at the end…if you have already printed them twice, a blue box forms around them and a message saying “print limit reached” shows up under the photo.

    • Andrea says:

After you print the first one, coupons.com puts it on the last page. Check the there and you should be able to print another one. HTH

  9. Stacey says:

Can someone please explain the velveeta, mayo deal to me? I get the email with the preview of next weeks ad and it is not in the ad. Do not want to do the deal if I am not sure what the deal fully is. Thanks.

    • Anonymous says:

the Mayo was in my ad but not the Velveeta or the Kraft dressing. The manager explained that it is part of their Bonus Buys that you can only get by downloading the WAG app on your smart phone. I do not have a smart phone so I asked if you could print it off of the online ad and said he thought that would work because they have to do a price overide anyway. Since I was already at the store and did not have the App or the online ad, the manager kindly used his app to pull up the Bonus Buys and adjusted the price for me.

Im sorry, Im a newbie. Can someone explain the ”
limit 1 coupon per customer, no more than 4 coupons of any kind for the same product in the same transaction ” for me pretty much please??? <=) One coupon per customer I can see however that other sentence follow didn't make sense. So you would have to do a few transactions if you had more than 4 different products w/ coupons?

    • Anonymous says:

Meaning that that particular coupon, you can only use 1 but if you have other coupons for the same product, you can only use a max of 4… So, I guess you can go with 3 other people (suggested several times) and get the 4 in same transaction with no problem because it’s one per person ;)

  11. Jena says:

I’ve been having a problem at my walgreens with rolling the register rewards. If I use a register reward to pay for anything in my second transaction, it does not print out any new register rewards.. even though the products/brands are different. I used to be able to do this just fine until about 2 weeks ago, and ever since then I’ve been having problems. Is anyone else having this problem??

    • Anonymous says:

I don’t have that problem- has anyone else? Have you asked the manager about it?

      • Jena says:

Interesting. No I haven’t talked to the manager about this, I’ll just have to print out a copy of the coupon policy and take it in with me the next time I go because it does say as long as it’s not for the same offer. And maybe I’ll just go to a different walgreens. The people at this particular one are getting really snobby about the couponing (even though I’ve only ever done two transactions at a time, never when busy!).

Our Walgreens is waiting until Aug. 31st to out out the September Booklets :(

    • Anonymous says:

That’s ridiculous! My booklet says the coupons expire today which would mean September booklet would start tomorrow.

    • Anonymous says:

I have a booklet and it says on the cover “Offers valid 8/25 thru 9/29/12″

  13. Guest says:

By buying the Kraft Velveeta Shells and Cheese and the Kraft Mayo in the same transaction it looks like it will bump the count to 6 and produce a $5 catalina. Wouldn’t these then be free?

      • Andrea says:

Awesome!!!! I have also been thinking about this…what do you think?

        If my math
is right this would be a money maker!!!

        (4)-Velveeta
        Shells and Cheese: $2each($8) – 4($1/1Mfg) – 2($1/2WGSeptbook) = $2

        (2)-Mayo:

        (4)-Salad
        Dressing: $2each($8) – 2($1/2MfgCoupon)
        – 2($1/2WGSeptbook) = $4

        • TexasMama says:

Where did you get the Kraft salad dressing coupons from?

        • Anonymous says:

I did this scenario and I received the $10 RR. However, the Velveeta and the Dressing were not in my weekly ad. They are “BONUS BUYS” and you need the WAG app to get them. Also, to get the Mayo it rings up 2/$6 and you need the $1 coupon from the Sept booklet to make it 2/$5. (it’s the same coupon as the dressing but one scan adjusted the dressing and the mayo)
