Let’s Shop: Results of Week 9/9

I love to try new things, and new things for free are even better!  Did you get the rebate form to use at Safeway this week (it was in the SmartSource this past Sunday)? I checked my Just 4 U account and got some other free items. Free food–fabulous!!

I have my disappointments each week, too! I didn’t get the $5.00 Revlon coupon, there was no Lysol Power and Free Bathroom Cleaner at my Rite Aid, and my CVS was out of the Centrum Flavor Burst Vitamins. Even so, I got some great deals!

i too volunteer as a guinea pig:).. i need help getting Krazy wih coupons and saving money:)!… i also think sometimes cashiers get attitudes only because they wish they knew how to save with coupons just like we do!!

  2. Veronica says:

Jamie.. that is a great idea.. I volunteer too!!

so i went to target today after telling myself weeks ago that my love affair with target was dying (wasup with their cashiers spendn 5 minutes scoping a coupon, ofcourse ur not gonna get 2 use the coupon) anyhooo i was passing by went in got (3) stayfree @ 2.89 only cos i wanted the$5giftcard to pay for cool blouse i found in clearance. I pulled out the (3) $2 mq from sunday paper few weeks ago (mind you i tried to do this weeks ago and they said no, only 1 coupon allowed) Long story short, sweet older lady said “oh its only taking 2 of them” then some younger guy came over (at this time i knew the gig was over, given up on getting my cool blouse for free with giftcard) but he says to her just overide it…THERE IS A GOD. (and this story really could have just gone in a diary instead of boring y’all.

  4. Tasha says:

Thank you for that tip, I was wondering if I would need a filler item. I wasn’t sure if RR’s counted as coupons or not. I need a new notebook so I could just use that in the carmex transaction, I suppose. Not confusing at all, thanks @5788b280d21a3cc8acd29bc85c0277c8:disqus !

  5. Kerry says:

Oh, a try my free rebate from Safeway? I am in Maryland and didn’t get this puppy…any way to get one if you didn’t receive one, or is it only regional? New to couponing so any info you can provide would be great! :) Thanks for all you do!

Love our KCL readers! I got on to answer comments and our savvy readers had already done a great job of answering each other’s questions! You guys rock it!

    • Sheila M. says:

I too appreciate all the comments and personal experiences readers share. Encouraging and helpful readers make this a positive site; and as a result of that, I recommend KCL for new couponers on a regular basis.

  7. Jamie says:

Wow! You really have a gift for this! I just read your book and am trying to get Krazy but I havent quite got the knack for putting all the puzzle pieces together to get these steals! Can you start an “Adopt a Coupon Newbie for the week” promotion? I volunteer myself as a guinea pig! :)

Holy cow! Love the Try Me Free rebate from Safeway! So jealous!!!

  9. Tatyana says:

The glade refills are still doing the 1RR?
(I won’t be able to shop until Saturday.)

  10. Jess says:

Now with Walgreens in one transaction I have 2 things that will get me rr will they both print or do you only get one rr per transaction? Eample: in my 1st trans. I have the cottonelle wipe get 3rr back and the 2 suave. Will I get a total of 5rr back?

    • nikkicats2 says:

Yes, they will both print you just can’t buy two of the cottonelle wipes in the same transaction and get two register rewards they would have to be done in separate transactions.

I am curious to know why? after posting the rite aid deal on the lysol power and free ( it did have it”s shortcomings with pricing) you opted to buy it at target at a greater expense?

    • ashley says:

i know i tried to do the rite aid lysol deal and they told me no because one of the Qs said not to be combined with any other offer so they didn’t take it.

    • Anonymous says:

I know that my Rite Aid didn’t have the lysol power & free, maybe that’s why she didn’t get it from there…?

    • cibm0430 says:

“I have my disappointments each week, too! I didn’t get the $5.00 Revlon
coupon, there was no Lysol Power and Free Bathroom Cleaner at my Rite
Aid, and my CVS was out of the Centrum Flavor Burst Vitamins. Even so, I
      got some great deals!”

      – From the bottom part of her introduction.

  12. Tasha says:

This may be a stupid question, but how do you get two of the Carmex Pomegranate .30/1? By liking their facebook page, you are only printed one. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance!

    • Tasha says:

Okay, so I was able to print two… can someone evaluate my plan for Walgreens tomorrow? This will be my first couponing experience and I’ve only been learning for about a week. Okay, so tomorrow I plan to purchase 4 Suave Shampoos and Conditioners, 4 Carmex Pomegranates, and 3 Wet-n-wild nail polishes. With the Suave, I’ve read that I can pay $2.00 for 2 bottles and recieve a $2.00 RR, so they’re free. With the Carmex, after coupons I will pay 2.40 and recieve a $2.00 RR if I buy two..can I use the RR I got from Suave to pay for the Carmex? Then turn around and buy 2 more Suave’s, pay for those with the Carmex RR, get another Suave RR, then buy 2 more carmex’s and pay for those with the second Suave RR? Does that make any sense? It does in my mind but I’d like some advice. :) And then the wet-n-wild polishes can be in another transaction and I’ll end up paying 1.50 for three I believe, after coupons. Sorry if this is confusing!

      • loves2coupon says:

ur pretty much right, long as you use rr’s from 1st product on a 2nd product that also gives you rr’s, you really could keep up this cycle. Ofcourse most cashiers arent going to let you do that back to back in one go so for the sake of gas consumption hope uv got couple walgreens around you. Also there are 99cents wetnwild “SHINE” polishes. i picked 2 colors tried em on 2 nails and kept on shopping and the coral color smudged but the “red red rouge rouge” didnt-the red also had a sticker for Cosmo girl award winner and no other color had that. goodluck

        • Tasha says:

Well my plan had to change a bit. I was only allowed to print two of the Carmex coupons. I still plan on buying 2 Suave’s, then using the RR from that on the Carmex, recieve RR from Carmex, and then buy 2 more Suave’s with that. Do you think they’d let me do that? Then it’d only be three transactions. Thanks for the tips, I’m hoping I can get this all done at one store since the other Walgreens is 8 miles away..not to far, but still. It’s a lot of gas in my jeep! :)

          • nikkicats2 says:

It depends on the cashier, but you might want to try doing your transactions at the beauty counter and explain you’re new to couponing and didn’t want to hold up the regular line. Hopefully you can get a nice associate to work with you.

            • ashley says:

i always get a wonderful, helpful lady at the beauty counter! lol

            • Tasha says:

I was going to try at the beauty counter because I have a feeling that I will take awhile trying to check out since I’m doing 4 transactions. I’m hoping that the checker is nice and understanding though! I’m going in a few hours, I’m nervous and excited! :)

          • Laurie says:

Don’t forget that you need as many items as coupons, so if you are using the suave register reward on your carmex deal, you will need a filler item since you only have two products and three coupons (two carmex manufacturer and one RR).

            • Tasha says:

Thank you @disqus_rGhfSgbDo7:disqus! I wasn’t sure if RR’s counted as coupons, now I will know! :)

What does the Safeway Try Me Free Rebate look like? is this also regional? I did not see this…

    • nikkicats2 says:

It was regional. I found it in my Oregonian newspaper but not in my Daily News Smartsource. It was a half page ad that said try me free at the top with a list below of all the items you could buy. The reat of the page and the next showed Safeway deals you could get using the Just 4 U digital coupons from the Safeway site. I missed it the first time, hopefully you got it.

Are the glade mist refills considered room spray?
