My Vons/Pavilions in Valencia, CA does not double anymore. They said it was a company-wide policy…. :( But based on the the last comment, does that mean that the Just4U coupon can be used with a physical MC for the $1 discount??? I thought the Just4Us were just digital versions of the insert coupon. Because last time I was in there, I had a problem with the clerks and my coupons and when the manager came over she said ” I will give the the discount anyway, but just so you know, Vons/Pavilions’ systems only scan 2 like coupons once. So if you have 2 like coupons for the same item, the system will only recognize and scan 1 of them.” This instance was in regard to Nature Valley Granola Bars. I got 4 of them and presented 2 coupons that were $1/2, so $2 off 4. I told her that each coupon was for two of them, but the manager said the system doesn’t accept the 2nd one, if they are exactly the same denomination and description. That’s very annoying likely making me not shop there anymore. It’s just easier to price match at Walmart.

The Safeway Doubl’r is slightly different than doubling coupons. It is an in ad Safeway coupon that let’s you double up to 4 different manufacturer coupons up to $0.50 each. Not all areas have the Doubl’r coupon unfortunately.
When you are loading your Safeway card in the Just For U program many of those coupons are actually manufacturer coupons. Safeway won’t let you then bring in another manufacturer coupon to use for the same item. They will automatically take the manufacturer coupon loaded to your card in the Just For U program.
Safeway also has their in ad coupons online in the Just For U program. These can be stacked in most stores with one manufacturer coupon. It can be confusing to tell which is which online. If you want to load in-ad coupons take a look at your Safeway weekly ad and load the exact coupon that is in the ad to your card so you are sure to get the correct ones. If you want to stack coupons you may find it easier to bring in paper manufacturer coupons and paper in ad coupons. You can then just load those super deals to your card that can’t be found anywhere else. See which way works best for you! Store policies can vary by region so check with your store and make sure they still stack coupons.

I paid .33 cents a can at Giant Food (MD). They are on sale for 4/3.00, which in turn comes out to 1.33 a can with the .50 off coupon that doubles you get them at .33 :)
