Walgreens Filler Items: Week of 9/23

This week there are some great Register Rewards promotions at Walgreens! Since it’s tricky to roll rewards, here’s a reminder: If you are using a Register Reward, you cannot use a manufacturer coupon on a filler item. The number of manufacturer coupons and Register Rewards used as payment must be equal to or less than the number of items purchased. To read about how to shop at Walgreens, click here, then click on the “Walgreens 101″ tab.

do the in-ad coupons count as a manufacturer’s coupons or are they like the september savings booklet coupons where they don’t count toward the number of products to coupon ratio?

I am not understanding what Filler items are.

It is just a cheap item that you can purchase if you need more items in your transaction. You must have at least as many items in your transaction as you have manufacturer coupons and Register Rewards used as payment. For example, if you are purchasing one product, using a manufacturer coupon, AND wanting to pay with a Register Reward, you will need an additional item. Hence, “filler items.” Read all about shopping at Walgreens by clicking on the “101″ tab at the top of our Walgreens page. This will be very helpful!

I have a few $1 and $3 Register Rewards to use. If I buy what I need and then take 8 of the Halloween tumblers with the coupon, doesn’t that leave me with 7 filler items to compensate for my small Register Rewards?

It depends on how many manufacturer coupons and Register Rewards you want to use to pay. You have to have at least as many items in your transaction as you have coupons and Register Rewards used as payment. For example, if you had two manufacturer coupons and six Register Rewards to use, you would need to purchase at least eight items.
