  2. Anonymous says:

    EXCELLENT info! Thanks recumbentrider!

  3. Anonymous says:

I hate to state the obvious because I’m sure you’ve already considered it, but are you checking your spam folder?

  4. nikki says:

I tried following scenario for physician Formulas and i got it for as low as free.
I bought Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Eyeliner Trio, Kohl Kajal for 12.29.
    I used 25 % off coupon
and 2 $ off coupon from the box itself.

so I paid 12.29 -2.95-2= 7.34 $ and you get back 7 $ so it is as low as .34 cents

  5. Lori says:

Our CVS store has the Dial Foam body wash for 2.29 and with that 2.00 off Q it’s only .29 each! YaY!

  6. bamabragger says:

Thank you so much for posting all this! Now if everyone would save this and refer to it that would be great. Also would you agree that once the %off cpns expire they are expired and can’t be forced through. I tried to use mine (expired 1 day) on the WhiteStrips today, which were 30.99 reg. price and he tried 3 times to make it work but it wouldn’t. He said it was because of the EB’s but I think it’s because it was expired??

    • recumbentrider says:

Yup it was because it was expired… I always send to card/print my % off coupon on the last day it’s valid because you get additional 4 days to use it.

Also you could try calling CS, maybe they could issue you a new one?

      • recumbentrider says:

I edited the guide and now my comment says “Comment hidden due to abuse reports. ” — Hmm… wonder what I did wrong!

        • bamabragger says:

That is weird! I don’t know but I clicked show hidden comment and it’s still there. What’s the abuse, that you covered every question anybody could have? lol. I don’t even see one of those “report abuse” buttons on here?? Crazy – but thanks again!

        • Anonymous says:

I’m not sure why/how it would have been reported. It is FANTASTIC! At any rate, I see it now. Thanks again :)

  7. PhillySaver says:

Hey KCL! I was so disappointed when the Nexus $3.oo coupon was no longer avail on the Walmart site but I just found it on the Target coupons Site ( Manufacturer coupon) under “Personal”. Just incase anyone else missed out aswell. Print, print, print before they are all gone again~~

  8. Sharon Stone says:

I also tried using my 25% on the mascara…would not print the ecb…had 2 managers come to register to figure it out & was told that even tho it’s not “on sale”, it is a promotional item, which is why it wouldn’t print

    • recumbentrider says:

Did the cashier try scanning it or just refuse to try?… regular priced
items with extra-bucks are not excluded from the % off coupon….
promos are considered bogo / bogo 50% and again that scans at the
register less than full retail price.

I’ve been using the % off coupon with regular priced ECB’s deals for
months now… and I’ve never had any beeps and always get my ECB’s.

      • Sharon Stone says:

she scanned to % off & it did not print the ecb…this happened to me last week @ dif cvs, but it was the store mgr that scanned it; when I questioned about the ecb, she forced it to print….yesterday, this cashier was not so helpful:(

    • Anonymous says:

How much was your mascara? Some stores have them priced too low to trigger the EBs.

  9. recumbentrider says:

heads up! someone posted in another post that there is a new nexxus coupon!! it’s are on targets site ($3/1, expires 11/26 and you can print twice)… it’s a manufacturer’s coupon and has no store logo!!

  10. AdrienneA. says:

Thanks for the list of items that’ll go great w/the % off coupon. I’ve been making “mental notes” of them but it’s nice to see it all right there in front of me- Plain and simple.
I did have a question tho… would the % off coupon be affected by an item’s price manually being reduced due to a raincheck? Sorry if this was answered somewhere in the thread below. If it was, I didn’t catch it.
    Thank you in advanced!

  11. Brenna says:

how many times can you use th 25% off coupon?

  12. afullerf123 says:

There is a rebate form for Physicians Formula organic wear mascara for try me free. The deal is already a moneymaker plus rebate.

  13. Aldra says:

    I have a question. I have a 25% off CVS coupon, a 10% off Beauty CVS
    coupon, and a few 4/20 coupons. Also a $10/$50 CVS q.
    I
know I can use both % off coupons in one trip, but how would the $4/$20
coupon fit in? I am thinking after the % off, if the balance is $20, I
can use one $4/$20 CVS Q. Would this be right? You use them after the
%off amount or the before amount. I am pretty new, am fine at getting
the deals together and MQ, but these CVS q’s are tricky for me. I know I
would need to use the $10/$50 first, but after that, not sure if I need
to use $4/20 or the % off. I see people using the %off at the end of
their scenarios. Wasnt sure if that affected anything. Any help
    would be great! Ty!

    • recumbentrider says:

It doesn’t matter when the % off is scan… it will re-adjust at the end if there are any coupons that scan as a “cvs coupon” …. so say your total is $50 before tax and any coupons… and you use $10/$50 (scans as a “cvs coupon”), instead of saving 25% off $50 you’ll save 25% off $40.

If you multiple purchase based coupons ($10/$50 / $4/$20).. you’ll need to satisfy the purchase requirement of each… say you want to use $10/$50 and $4/$20, you would need a $70 subtotal to use both.

Any coupons that scan as a “cvs mfr coupon” will not reduce the % savings like the “cvs coupon” do.

      • whovier88 says:

what is considered a cvs mfr coupon, the ecbs only?

        • recumbentrider says:

no.. sometimes MCM coupons are “cvs mfr coupon”. However it can be hard to determined what is what till you use it or someone posts that they used it and says what it is.

          Here’s the ones I know of….
$10/$50 purchase is a “CVS Coupon”
$4/$12 cosmetic is a “CVS mfr coupon”
$4/$20 facial is a “CVS mfr coupon”
$2/$10 softsoap / scott is a “cvs mfr coupon”
$1/1 hair color is a “CVS mfr coupon”
$2/2 Tresemme is a “cvs mfr coupon”
$1/1 Dove men body wash is a “cvs mfr coupon”

  14. Stephanie says:

I am signed up to receive emails from cvs but I never get 25% coupons. The only % off I get is for online purchases. Why is that?

  15. ljvasseur says:

My 25 percent off coupon got lost in cyber space somewhere. It was there Saturday and didn’t show up on my card on Sunday when I needed it. I was really bummed.

  16. Tiffany says:

I am not lucky at all. :( Have not been getting any $10 off $50 purchase.

    • ljvasseur says:

me either, none of the great coupons for last week that were listed printed for me, mine were all double bucks, 4/12 cosmetics and .25 mars

  17. ChiaTown says:

Does the ^$10 off $50^ have to reach $50 b4 all the coupons or after all the coupons?

  18. JBurbank says:

How long is the 25% OFF COUPON valid?

  19. stealmagnolia says:

thank you! I didn’t use my last discount because I didn’t know how! Didn’t know it would work on non sale ECB items! Great.

  20. recumbentrider says:

Had the best experience today at CVS. My total was a little over $100 (with tax) before coupons & extra bucks. After all was said and done my total was $10.93 (with tax). I think the best part was I gained more ecb’s than I used…

    Here’s how I did and what I got….

    Physicians formula cosmetics = $9.99
    Nexxus shampoo, conditioner, & stylers = 9.79 + 11.79 = $21.58
    L’oreal hair color $9.99 x 2 = $19.98
    Schick Quattro $10.79
    Gillette Venus $11.79
    Boire $7.99 + $7.79
    Rimmel lipgloss $4.99

    = $94.90

    coupons used…
    -$10 / $50 — purchase crt (cvs coupon)
    -$4 / $12 — cosmetic crt (cvs mfr coupon)
    -$3/1 — Nexxus MQ (2)
    -$4/2 — L’Oreal hair color MQ (1)
    -$4/1 — Schick razor (1)
    -$4/1 — Gillette MQ (1)
    -$7/1 — Boire Bogo MQ (1)
-$1/1 — rimmel mq (cvs coupon)
-$2/1 — rimmel crt (cvs coupon)
-$1/1 any hair color crt (cvs mfr coupon)
    -$19.48 — 25% off (of $77.90 because I used $17 worth in “cvs coupons”)

    after coupons= $32.42

used $20 ecb’s (cvs mfr coupon)

used $5 beauty club reward (cvs coupon)

    =$7.42 + $3.51 tax = $10.93

    got $7 physicians, $10 Nexxus, $5 L’oreal, $4 Schick, $5 Gillette, $3 Biore = $34

get $5 beauty club reward (72.32 toward b.c) in 2 days

    • Vanessa says:

oh man, I hope to get that good one day.

      • recumbentrider says:

I bet you will… all it takes is learning how through KCL’s posts and
your time… and it’s so worth your time because you can save SO much
(and KCL takes a lot of the leg work out with the match ups). I’ve saved
over $4000 this year at CVS alone!

I’ve been couponing since march of this year… but wasn’t doing this
good.. I think after learning how the % off coupon works this summer (and still learning.. such a tricky coupon!) I’ve made great strides.

  21. alma says:

I used my 25% on the Crest 3D whitening strips reg price 41.99
it took 10.49 off and I used 10 off from the cvs machine (expires today), 7 off MQ (it was inside a toothpaste a bought). paid 14.95 and got 10 EB. $4.95

    • Anonymous says:

Did you save your receipt to use this with the $10 mail-in-rebate that was in today’s P&G circular???? If so, its a MM coming your way!!!!

    • bamabragger says:

I had planned to do that, was going to get 2 boxes, but they are all gone. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they will re-stock and let me use my expired CRT before the sale ends this week. That’s the only thing I wanted with the 25off cpn. I did get 4 of the Robitussin this morning and now those are all gone, guess I’ll ask for a raincheck on those.

    • Anonymous says:

      not part of the rebate?

  22. Michelle Stone says:

I don’t get how you can get the mascara when it says you have to spend
$10 on the makeup to get the $7 ECB. The mascara is $9.99…

    • LavA88 says:

CVS has a 98% rule, where you only have to spend 98% of the purchase requirements so 98% of $10 is 9.80 or so, so the 9.99 mascara reaches the requirement and you will get the 7EB!

  23. Alysia says:

KCL WTG with this thread. I love doing ECB deals with the percent off coupons and its great for you to put it all in one spot for your followers to use. Many times the deals are mm’s after the ECB! I love CVS!!!

  24. dee118 says:

I was told that even if the price is not on sale, but still has ECB’s attached, the 25% coupons would not work. My local CVS is very helpful and even called corp. while I was there and this is what we were told. Any ideas?

    • Alysia says:

That is completely incorrect. CVS corporate also informed me that ECB deals that were listed weren’t really ECB deals, sometime you get someone that doesn’t know everything. You can only use a % off coupon on non-sale stuff but it doesn’t effect ECBs from printing, I am 100% positive about this. I have used a percent off coupon countless times and I have anyways received the ECBs. HTH

      • dee118 says:

Right I get the ECB’s but it won’t take the 25% off. Example, when I went the other day, I did the pantene which was on sale, but I bought the gillette razor that was not on sale but did have ECBS and I bought some nail clippers and files that I needed and to round out my ECB’s I needed to roll. The total for the nail clippers and files was around 6 bucks. However, only 58 cents came off from the 25%. Even for the nail clippers and the files that does not equal 25% off, so I am really confused now.

        • Anonymous says:

Sounds like it was the coupons and/or EBs you used to PAY that affected your %-off, not the promo itself. I’ll copy/paste here what I mentioned in another comment:

“CVS registers will automatically take the 25% off BEFORE manufacturer coupons and any CVS coupons that ring up as “CVS Mfr” coupons. There are only SOME exceptions, mostly involving coupons that ring up as CVS STORE coupons. Those include Beauty Club rewards, Green Bag Tag ExtraBucks, force-printed EBs, and adjusted or expired EBs. These WILL affect your percent-off.”

          • Linda says:

This answers a lot! I bought 4Hallmark cards and a magazine today and I only got $.34 taken off using my 25%. The cashier tried it again and it came out the same. I had used a forced ecb and coupon from the coupon machine.

    • Anonymous says:

When in doubt (or when you are getting conflicting information from experienced couponers vs. cashiers and even corporate), TRY it :) You may be happily surprised to see what actually happens, despite what cashiers are predicting MAY happen :)

  25. Kiki says:

I tried this last time I received a CVS 25% coupon and was told that only regular priced items get the 25% off. Basically if you earn EBs with an item the 25% off will not apply. Also anything with a price reduction on clearance, etc the coupon does not apply.

    • Angela says:

Nope. Whoever told you that needs a brain transplant. If it’s regular priced with no sale price attached (such as BOGO), the 25% coupon will apply.

    • Alysia says:

The % off coupon doesn’t apply to sale or clearance items but does apply to regular priced ECB deals. So if it regular priced at $10 and you use a 25% off it’s then $7.50 then you use a $4 coupon and pay 3.50 plus tax. You can get a $4 ECB back like the Schick deal and the deal is an mm. Try it and you will see and then you will smile and love CVS as I do. Last night I paid $6.00 OOP and $15 in ECB’s last night using coupons and a % off coupon and I got back $33 in ECBs and saving about $90.

    • Anonymous says:

Have them scan it anyway :) Then be sure to show them your EBs that print on your receipt so hopefully they will learn something new, and go on to correctly inform the next shopper. Clearance items will not work, as mentioned in the post. But regular price items will, even if they produce EBs. HTH.

    • Kiki says:

Yay! I will try again! Thank you for your encouragement my coupon pals!

    • ljvasseur says:

actually, if you look at your coupon and read the fine print it says right on it that you cannot use it on sale, clearance or ECB deals (at least it does in Michigan.)

      • recumbentrider says:

Really?? it says that about the ECB’s in the fine print on your coupon? Mine says sale, promo and clearance… no mention about ECB’s deal. Promo means BOGO, BOGO 50% and any item that scans less than full retail price. I’ve been using the coupon with ECBs deal for months and I’ve had no problems (as long it’s regular price)..

What the exact wording on your coupon? This is what my says

“EXCLUDES SALE & PROMOTIONAL ITEMS, CLEARANCE ITEMS, PRESCRIPTIONS, ALCOHOL, GIFT CARDS, LOTTERY MONEY ORDERS, POSTAGE STAMPS, PRE-PAID CARDS & TOBACCO PRODUCTS. NO CASH BACK. TAX CHARGED ON PRE-COUPON PRICE WHERE REQUIRED. EXTRACARE CARD MUST BE PRESENTED TO GET THESE SAVINGS. SAVINGS APPLIED TO TOTAL QUALIFYING PURCHASE AFTER OTHER CVS COUPONS & DISCOUNTS ARE APPLIED. OFFER NOT VALID IN MINUTE CLINIC.”

        • ljvasseur says:

Hmmm…maybe I was looking at the sale paper…going to check the fine print on that. Either way, all I know is I was ticked my card lost my coupons…I’m printing those bad boys from now on

        • Anonymous says:

          That’s what mine say too.

  26. kiara says:

I did it also with the venus and the soft soap body wash and got back 8 ecb for next time…

  27. Anonymous says:

    THANK YOU!!!

  28. Alexis says:

I did this with the Aquaphor and the ECB didn’t print =/

    • Anonymous says:

Did you confirm that the items you purchased are participating and that you reached the $20 threshold? What does the bottom of your receipt say (if anything) about how much you’ve spent toward this promo?

    • alicia says:

Mine didn’t print either, but the nice cashier force printed it.

      • Anonymous says:

That’s too bad. At least it is in the ad, so if it doesn’t print, definitely say something to the cashier and they can force print it as Alicia’s did.

  29. Anonymous says:

These prices will actually be a little higher because the CVS registers now take off the 25% AFTER any manufacturer or CVS store coupons. Even if you hand them the 25% off coupon first, the register will automatically adjust the 25% off total down every time they scan a coupon.

    • Anonymous says:

This is a common misconception and it can be very confusing when you try to do the math off your receipt (or ask an uninformed cashier). Hopefully I can shed some light on it:

CVS registers will automatically take the 25% off BEFORE manufacturer coupons and any CVS coupons that ring up as “CVS Mfr” coupons. There are only SOME exceptions, mostly involving coupons that ring up as CVS STORE coupons. Those include Beauty Club rewards, Green Bag Tag ExtraBucks, force-printed EBs, and adjusted or expired EBs. These WILL affect your percent-off.

Bottom line is that it really depends on how the CVS coupons or EBs scan. Which is difficult to know ahead of time, except for the guidelines I just provided. Manufacturer coupons should NOT affect your percent-off :)

      Hope that helps!

      • Anonymous says:

what about CVS coupon ($4 off $12 purchase) fr the magic machine ? Can I use it on the Physician Formula and still get ECB? thanks

        • Anonymous says:

It depends on whether it rings up as a CVS Mfr coupon or not. (if anyone can confirm from a receipt, let me know!). If so, it should work with it. But, I’m thinking that you will need to be at $12 after the %-off is applied, in order for it to work.

          • Anonymous says:

I purchased 2 Cover Girl eye shadows 3.69 + 1.84 (b1/1 50% sale) and Phy Form Lip gloss 9.99 = 15.52; used 25% took off 2.50; used $3/2 CG Q; used $4/12 and received $7EB for a 98 cent MM. $4/12 scans as a CVS Man. Q (I also purchased 2 razors with the 25%Q and received the EB on those as well)

            • Anonymous says:

Good to know! So, the $4/$12, nor the Manufacturer Qs effected the percentage: $2.50 is 25% of the PF lip gloss ($9.99), the only regular-priced item in your transaction. Thanks for sharing so we could demonstrate how it works :)

          • Anonymous says:

I did it. I bought PF item for $14.49, use the CVS $4 off to ensure the final value is still $10 to get the $7 ECB. Thanks.

          • recumbentrider says:

            it’s a “cvs mfr coupon” !! :)

            I got the ph. formula for $9.99 + rimmel lip gloss $4.99 (I had the $2/1 rimmel crt & $1 MQ) … used the $4/$12 and % off … eb printed !

fyi, the rimmel crt scanned as a “cvs coupon”

  30. alicia929 says:

I did all this except for the hair color. Everyone should also look at the venus razors. I did not have to buy the cartridges to get the $5 ECB. There is a $4Q making them possible money makers. Combine all this with the 25% off Q and a $10 off $50 if you got it. It was $33 oop and I got $36 ECBs!!!!!!

  31. chrissy bednash says:

I never got the 25% off coupon

    • guest says:

mine was in spam mail. please check your spam or junk mail

      • Jessica says:

I just tried to get the coupon and it says it has expired :(

        • Anonymous says:

That’s odd. There was one last week too, which would now be expired. Could that be the one you attempted to print?

        • sscake19 says:

I think you had to have printed it or sent it to your card before 9/30. Mine was valid until 10/1… but the same thing happened to me the last time we received the % off coupon – I tried doing it the day it expired and it wouldn’t let me….
