i was not able to use my alka-seltzer plus the manager told me they were no longer taking the coupon if the item was coming out for free…because her store was losing money. i had to call the corporate office to complain.

My $ store let me use the $2 / 1 MQ from 10/21. I bought 8 items and paid nothing. Doesn’t get any better.

I used the coupon $2,00 off any Alka-Seltzer Plus excluding antiacid products. The DT took $2 off my bill!!! Biggest score of the day!!!

I tried the same thing and my DT refused my coupon saying they couldn’t accept any coupons over $1 :(

I got a few boxes the other day and the cashiers are always friendly. I can suggest that if you have a problem, printing the coupon policy, because it does state that the coupon can’t exceed the price of the item.

well I Went to My DT an Scored 4 and just paid .28 tax

I tried using a $1 off coupon at Dollar Tree earlier this week and they refused to take it. They said they can only accept coupons that were less than $1 since everything in the store was only $1 to begin with.

Take the ad with you. They should take them as they do not EXCEED the price of the item. And they are getting their money back for the coupon.

    • mony says:

same problem! call corporate office waiting on a reply

how do you get the internet coupon for this item?

  8. Maria says:

I havent gone yet to dollar tree, I was just told that they started accepting coupons. I have a question though….if the items are coming out free is the tax still applied? In Family dollar Ive had to pay taxes on free items which makes no sense to me but cant really complain over a few cents.

    • mamatiml66 says:

yes, you always have to pay the taxes. so if it cost a dollar than add the 6 cent out of pocket. so 6 cent for medicine is a great price.

    • Jasmine says:

I think this depends on the state. I’m in Virginia, and we do pay the sales tax on free items. However, in some places, if your total gets down to zero, there is no tax. Also, medication and some other health items are tax free now. So, if you’re doing this Alka Seltzer deal, it will be completely free.

Be sure to read the smaller print… when I printed mine it was for $1 off Alka Seltzer Plus Cold ..not allgery… just letting ya’ll know in case you happen to have the same one print.
My Dollar Tree has been very welcoming to the coupons. I’ve been able to find most things and the manager is awesome. He always to come back as soon as I get the rest of my coupons. The only improvement they could make is having the scanners scan the coupons. At my DT they have to enter each coupon manually….so I tend to limit myself a little bit so I don’t tie up the line too much.
Inventory also can vary store to store…making the line up harder but hey…freebies are good right???
Anyway….I’m loving that the DT takes coupons!
FYI If ya’ll got the $1/1 Airwick Candle coupons….some dollar trees have Air Wick Candles that would be FREE with coupon :)

none at either of the dollar trees near me

  11. Give Dollar Tree a chance. They are new to this and many clerks and even managers don’t quite get it yet. With patient feedback, I think they eventually will. Many DT stores don’t stock these items at all, so if you score, you are lucky. I wouldn’t run out and waste the gas because someone said they got a freebie there. I just go in regularly and use my coupons when they match up to something. A dollar is great, but 50 cents or free is better.

  12. janemme says:

boo hoo my dollar tree doesnt carry this

  13. kelly says:

i dont get why the cashiers aslways act like your stealing from them personally anyways… and i wish they knew the companies get rembursed because then maybe they wouldnt have such chips on their shoulders

  14. Victoria says:

Umm…I am so disappointed. I went to get myself some Alka-Seltzer Plus Allergy at Dollar Tree and the Manager did not accept the coupon. He said that corporate has told him that because the coupon says “only on specific product(s)” that this means the product has to match the picture. Is this right? If not, what can I do? I really wanted my Alka-Seltzer Plus product. :(
    Thank You.

    • maria says:

thats not true. many pictures are not the item thats listed. the companies uses it to grab our eyes but if in detail it says the item you have then they are supposed to honor it.

  15. myra says:

where can i get this coupon..i went to redplum and no

  16. courtneymarieclare says:

Thank you so much! I just came back from Dollar Tree where I scored two of these! After I left DT I went to Rite Aid and these were in the clearance section marked down to $1.48, regular price $7.99, so this is really a steal!

  17. Alice Pin says:

i got a few of these last week , is too sad i had like 10 coupons but only a few where for this the res are not allergy! same kind paper diff coupons. weird they ll cam from the same week insert but when i go to the store they were different.

  18. Mel says:

My Dollar Tree stopped stocking these on their shelves after people started using coupons to get them for free.

    • Melissa says:

Wow, that’s terrible, I’m sorry! Don’t they realize they’re getting reimbursed by the manufacturer? Geez.

    • uthorns1976 says:

That’s exactly what I was going to ask. Do they let you get stuff for free with coupons. I guess it’s YMMV.

      • Mel says:

They let you get free things with coupons, but when I would return with more coupons later in the week (or two or even three weeks later) nothing was ever restocked.
