Here is a smokin’ hot deal at Walgreens! Don’t delay! I found a Diabetes Care coupon book near the glucose monitors at my Walgreens store. Inside was a coupon for $10.00 off the Coutour Next EZ Monitor, which happens to be on sale for $9.99. When I checked out, a $5.00 Register Reward printed. Score! Here are a couple tips to make sure your trip goes smoothly: 1. You’ll need to have your Balance Rewards Card (or phone number) to get the $9.99 sale price. 2. Your cashier will need to reduce the value of the coupon by one penny. Click here to print a copy of the Walgreens Coupon Policy in case you run into any problems upon checkout. 3. We don’t know how long the $5.00 Register Reward will be printing, so hurry! If you don’t have diabetes, this would make a great donation item to a friend, neighbor, church or retirement home!

I tried to purchase the One Touch Verio IQ this evening using the &50 off from the savings book and the $30 coupon in the magazine. They rang up the item(on sale for 69.99),scanned the booklet coupon for $50 and when they scanned the mag coupon it wouldn’t work. they tried adjusting it and said register wasn’t allowing it. When the manager was called over he told me he couldn’t do it bc the coupon was no good. That they must put it in their system to not accept it bc people were getting them free and then turning around and returning them. I took my coupons back and left. This sounds ridiculous to me. Is there something I am not doing at the register that I should be to make this work? Please help! This sale is only through the 27th and I’d really like to get these to donate to local facilities(which I even explained to the manager-ugh!)

    • Chickenwang555 says:

I did not know you could return couponed items…..and get money back.
Do you only have one Walgreens in town? I got three of them but I usually went straight to the person at the checkout line and asked them if I could use the coupons before purchasing it. If you get a manager, if they are open to what you are saying they can ‘confuse’ the scanner (I got a reciept that said I paid 20.17 but I didn’t) and still give you the item.

    • Tricey says:

Have them scan magazine coupon first. After a few times I figured out that hat is what works.

  2. Carol91379 says:

Can you use a $10 off MQ too?

  3. Sandy says:

Yay, I found this manuf. coupon from a Kroger advertisement not in the wag. booklet. So I got the monitor FREE, but no RR :( What a deal :)

  4. Stephanie says:

I could kick myself! I saw at least 30 of those books, but I got discouraged that they expired 10-15. I didn’t check the year! :(

  5. Alice Pin says:

you may wan tot look around i found the pediatric one , cold and flu and many others except the diabetic one!!!!! they are by the products for example the pediatric are in between the pediatric or kids meds.

  6. alamofields says:

Is the $5.00 rr still printing?

  7. Natalie says:

strange… my walgreens has it for 19.99 instead of 9.99. and a lot of booklets, but it doesn’t help

  8. lrauser says:

I am in Spokane, Wa. The Walgreens here on Sunday had just gotten the Diabetes Care Booklet in on Sunday and had to go in the back to find it. The store gal didn’t even know it was there. Also the tag wasn’t out that it was on sale on the store front, instead we found it in the pharmacy. I did get it for free (although tax), but no RR printed out. I even spoke with the manager and they said it wasn’t on it. So it must be regional. Great for free Glucose Monitor though, I’m donating it to a shelter.

  9. S.T. says:

Was the one touch verio iq meter on sale last week or is the regular price 69.99?

  10. cynthia says:

I purchased mine and the register didnt take it because the “coupon exceeded the price of the product” and my purchase was $15 and the lady at the register tried to say that my purchase was not enough and I had to go buy MORE so I can use the coupon. I told her all that she had to do was adjust the coupon to $9.99 and it will work. She said “Ok we’ll try it YOUR way” and it worked. *sigh* Walgreens is something else but I did it my meter so thank you I’m insulin resistant so this helps alot!

  11. Jennifer Mc says:

I was able to pick up 10. They LOVE these at the donation centers!!

  12. Jennifer Villadores Bustos says:

made $80 with this deal and spent it all on goodies with points (and without) on the family and friends discount day:D

  13. Kirsten says:

I couldn’t find the coupon book anywhere!

  14. Veronica Barrio-Miranda says:

The coupon says that it expired on the 15th. How did you get the deal?

  15. Stephanie says:

I still have the $45 off coupons that printed online for the Verio. Hope it will work tomorrow in conjunction with the other coupon.

  16. I went and got these today but no register reward printed for me ):

  17. mey says:

Went to walgreens today and got my monitor (ran into a problem but the manager just adjusted the price to 10.00 so the coupon would work )but the 5.00 rr didnt print. Instead I got a coupon good for today and tomorrow only. 10.00 off a purchase of 35.00. Doesnt say anything about total before or after coupons. What do you all think?

    • diana says:

I live in Kentucky and got that same exact coupon no register rewards but I did get the blood monitor for free..I just wonder why its not printing out the 5 dollar register reward in certain areas.

  18. Sidra says:

Is the $5 register reward printing until 10/27?

    • Suzette says:

no, i tried on monday and it didn’t work. my qpon buddies told me that RR offer ended sunday. :(

  19. Sims says:

I was not able to get mine :( The manager refused, even after I showed him the printed coupon policy :(

  20. rlbigford says:

So bummed did not work for me. The screen prompted that coupon was greater than the item, so it did not work for me.

  21. Alyssa says:

I couldn’t find this coupon is any books at my stores. I did use the $50 off one veritouch Meter wags coupon and the $30 off from diabetes and you magazine. The meter is on sale for $69.99 so I used my overage to buy. 2 lysols sprays, 2 carmex, and 6 kitkats to get my total to $0.53 lol. I’ll be going back to get another tomorrow. My father in law is diabetic and I’ll give these to him for extras or back ups, :)
What does the diabetic care book that has the $10 coupon I’m look like? My store had one with a black older lady with a child on her lap. Is that the right book? That’s all I could find.

  22. Sims says:

Is there a limit to how many you can get?

  23. 2VavaIvanova22 says:

My Walgreens people looked at me funny when I had asked them about this booklet :/ There for, I didn’t get it…sucks. I really wanted this so I could get it for my church members… My Walgreens is upsetting me…

    • tioneK75 says:

I had that same problem as well I went to two different Walgreens ( we have three) and they kept trying to give me the diabetes magazine. I really wanted to get this deal for my aunt.

  24. Alice Pin says:

i found many monitors but not 1 magazine, not sure where it would have been if they even had it…now is too late.

  25. Anyiyi says:

Hi, after 4 stores looking for the book I found one and the coupon was expire on 10/15/2012 :( I hope to have an offer like that in the future for my cousin in Venezuela!

    • Anonymous says:

It sounds like you found the old Diabetes Care book. A lot of the stores still have the old books out, and as you found out, they have different coupons that are already expired! The new books look similar but have a different picture on the cover . . . and they have coupons that aren’t expired!

    • anyiyi says:

I am sorry It was my bad, the expiration date is 10/15/2013 lol. I just ran to the store and got mine, It was the last one! So happy, thank you KCL

  26. wagsnotsofun says:

I went to walgreens today, and tried to do this deal. However, when i went to check out. The coupon exceeded the amount and the cashier would not take it, She then called her manager. Then he said to do it without my rewards card, and then the total came to $19.99. And then he told me to use the $10.00 coupon. So, the total came to $9.99. So, he told me to purchase it at $9.99, so i said forget it and left. There always seems to be an issue at Walgreens. I much prefer cvs and riteaid.

  27. Rhondaleec says:

Did this deal today, bought 2, paid $0.87 tax for each…Also did the OneTouch VerioIQ for $69.99, $50 +$30 coups, paid $6.74 tax each, I bought 2…Ended up going to 2 Wag stores, cause the cashier at the first wanted to argue about not adjusting the $30 store coup.. In the end, I got all 4, paid $15.22 total…..And I scored big time with this, did it in 4 transactions, recieved 2 $5, and 2 $10 rewards good for today and tomorrow only. And another $5 reward good til 11-3-12. Getting ready for tomorrow now, lol…..I found a Military Veterans medical complex 45 minutes away.. Donating them all…Thank YOU KCL Ladies.

  28. jalong says:

How do you get one of those reward cards? Meaning where is it located in the store?

    • Anonymous says:

You need to sign up online. Go to to do so. Then your account will be tied to your phone number, which you can enter at checkout. If you’d prefer to have an actual card, you can sign up online and then when you go into the store you can connect it with an actual card. OR, ask your cashier. They can sign you up in the store! So many options!

  29. Wags says:

Does anyone know how long the RR goes til? I realize sale price is good thru 10/27

  30. Dina says:

My Walgreens didn’t have them on sale. $19.99 was their price. :(

    • Lauren says:

at my wags the sale price was not posted, but it rang up $9.99 with my card. Don’t go by the price posted on the shelf, always check with the cashier

    • Anonymous says:

Next time you can have them do a price-check just in case. Sometimes sale prices are not correctly tagged.

      • Dina says:

Thanks. I actually did have the cashier price check and it came back at $19.99. However, I came back to your website and saw that you need to use your card. I went back, used my card and got the deal. :)

  31. mykeyscouponmommy says:

This isn’t a moneymaker but the pharmacist gave me the diabetes & you magazine that has a a coupon for the Verio IQ meter for $30. In the Walgreens booklet there is a coupon for $50 and the meter costs $70. This is something else than can be donated!!

    • Anonymous says:

      Thanks for the tip!

    • Tanya says:

This deal is a MONEY MAKER!!!! I didn’t find the original deal, but I bought the Verio IQ for 69.99. Used the $50.00 from the October savings book & $30.00 from the Diabetes and you mag. So $10.00 money maker!! I walked in w/o one coupon & out with 3 salts, 2 milks, 1 meter, 3 A&H deodorant, a $10 wyb $35 coupon, and $10 off A1CNow self checker all for 71 cents plus tax. My total was actually 5.79 (tax gets ya) But hey, for not clipping one coupon for this deal IT ROCKED!!

  32. Amelia Garber says:

  33. robbiesgurl07 says:

i couldnt find the book either but i found out walgreens has a coupon book for each month for all kinds of things i wish i could find that coupon so i can get one for my grandma

  34. mykeyscouponmommy says:

Unfortunately, all of the Walgreens in my area don’t even carry the Diabetes Care booklets. Even the people in the Pharmacy have no clue what I’m asking for.

  35. Kimmy says:

Went to Walgreens and couldn’t find them! As it turns out, Walgreens employees hide them in the back for them to buy! Saw this happen yesterday- pharmacist handed two girls 3 glucose meters each.

    • Sims says:

Get a raincheck then. I’m sure they’ll eventually have more on the shelf. If KCL typed it in right, the coupon is good until next year.

  36. Kati says:

On the coupon, I just noticed it says, “One coupon per customer ‘for purchase’ of product indicated.” Is that one coupon allowed period? Or ‘per’ purchase? I never noticed that wording before.

    • Anonymous says:

“One coupon per purchase” is verbiage you will see on most coupons. All it means is one coupon per item.

      • Kati says:

Thanks! I’ve seen the ‘one coupon per purchase’ verbiage (on other coupons) before but never seen ‘one coupon per customer for purchase’ that was on this coupon. The ‘for purchase’ instead of ‘per purchase’ threw me off. Just wanted to make sure that I was being honorable about it! Compulsive rule-follower here! ;-)

  37. captincoupon says:

can i do two in one transaction and get both register rewards

    • Anonymous says:

No. You will have to separate and do two transactions in order to get both Register Rewards.

  38. Lenore says:

Thank you so much for the heads up. I was able to do 3 separate deals, 2 will go to family members and 1 to Christian Clinic. The (3) $5 RR’s will be my fun spend money! I took your suggestion and ask the pharmacist for the booklet and they had them under the counter. Sincerely appreciate all of you who share your good deals with us all! God Bless.

We have a new Walgreen’s that opened 2 weeks ago. They had lots of the new diabetes care books AND a full shelf of monitors. Cashier had problems with coupon, but called manager up and he adjusted it with no problem…Got $5.00 RR too!!! With the addition of the new Walgreens, we now have the “Big 3″ (Walgreens…CVS…Rite Aid) on 3 different corners of the same intesection. I’m in drug store heaven!!!

I bought two separately in my area same store (New Orleans) and RR didn’t print. Finally got cashier to adjust up the price to match coupon, I’m going to try a different store, but I don’t know if its just regional or even makes a difference.

  42. harley69d says:

I went tonight and found them did it three times nice moneymaker

  43. Lily says:

Thanku KCL … im so happy, me and my friend went to walgreens, found only 2 but it was perfect cuz we r 2 lol. price was not mark down, ask cashier, she said that if we had card we could get it for $9.99 so we did, but when i gave her the booklet, she did not want it, she said that i was already getting a discount by using my card, i ask for manager, she called but in the waiting she said that it was the reason why we are getting cards, so we dont use anymore coupons like those, and that i could only use either card or coupon, and that coupon was more than the item. i tried to tell her that policy says that she could ajust coupon, but she continue. so i just waited, manager got there and she told him, he only said ajust coupon, and only pay taxes and left. it was a great feeling lol. then when the 5RR printed, she put another face lol. but walk out with free monitor for my dad and my friend with one for her sister…. really happy! Thanks again

    • Lindsay S. says:

I’m not sure what that cashier was thinking, but there has never been anything from Walgreens saying they won’t take coupons any more just because we have a card. The card gives us the sale prices, and we are definitely allowed to use coupons still. You were right to stay and have the manager help out. I’m glad it worked out for you! Hopefully that manager will talk to the cashier and help her understand.

      • Lily says:

Thank you, i know. when she made that comment, i ask her why would they put new coupons if that was the case, and she said that coupons were for ppl with no card. but in the end everything was great. it was just one of those days.

      • Alice Pin says:

in my few months of couponing i have come to find out hat many people get jealous tha some of us get so much free or dirt cheap! many reject coupons simply because the item is already on sale so you don’t need a coupon i’m been told, too often. specially when some q’s wont scan they immediately assume it not valid since the item is already on sale! weird! i particularly enjoy telling people to use coupons and to come here and buy the sunday paper. i have found myself people buy brand name items when i see they are trying to buy a less expensive item when a good is is less or free even. make me feel good.

        • Sims says:

I have the problem with people telling me that it’s on clearance, so I can’t use a coupon… but I know perfectly well that I can!

          • Sims says:

Oh, and I’ve also had problems at Wal-Mart before where a cashier doesn’t want to take my coupons after price matching…. I always end up having them ask their supervisor, who always tells them it’s fine.

      • Sims says:

I always like to say, “I’ve done it before. Trust me.” and “Go ahead and try scanning it. If it’s against your policy then it won’t work.”

        • Stephanie says:

I have to do that all the time as well. Then I’m usually given a dirty look by the cashier!

    • Dr. Pepper says:

Cashiers should have a coupon training once a month or so. I really hate that there are so many cashiers that don’t know their coupon policy.

  44. boobear27 says:

It wasn’t on sale at my Walgreens it must be regional. Also I found the diabetes book it didn’t have a $10 coupon for that monitor.:(

    • Anonymous says:

It sounds like you found the old Diabetes Care book. The old one doesn’t have the right coupon (and all the coupons are expired), but the new book does!

  45. Alice Pin says:

all i saw was a magazine for diabetes! what exactly is it a booklet or magazine! oh and i found the cold and flu coupon booklet hiding in an isle! wow! not in the pharmacy as mentioned somewhere! thanks

  46. Alice Pin says:

i went and couldn’t fnid the darn booklet!

  47. couponingcouponer says:

  49. anna says:

  50. vivigames says:

Is there a limit on these? TIA

    • Butterfly29 says:

I just bought 2 from the Walgreens near my job and plan to get more by the other Walgreens by my house. I did seperate transactions. So excited to use the $5 RR on other items with today’s Friends & Family deal!

    • Anonymous says:

You can only receive one $5.00 Register Reward per transaction. Some Walgreens stores have limits on how many separate transactions you can do in one day. Other than that, please be courteous and leave some for those that need them!

  51. Edward says:

Guys, I have been doing this deal all week. If your shelves are empty, be sure to check the shelves at the Pharmacy. I have found SEVERAL that way.

  52. Crystal says:

I found both the coupon and the monitor but the cashier wouldn’t adjust the price to $10 :(

    • Anonymous says:

I’m sorry. Occasionally that does happen.

    • jayeb says:

3 cashiers at 3 different store locations tried to tell me the same thing but I insisted that they call the manager and they did and the cashier had to manually adjust the $10 coupon down to the sale price which states $9.99 in their weekly ad! Make them work!!

    • bca0511 says:

I,too, asked my cashier to adjust the coupon down, but the manager instead had the cashier adjust the price of the meter UP to $10.00, so the coupon could be used. I thought it was a bit weird, but it still worked out the same in the end, so I’m not complaining :)

  53. thecarabeast says:

This is awesome! Just went and got a bunch of stuff with the 5.00 register rewards cause its 15% off friends and family day! yay! Going to donate mine to a nursing home.

  54. Erika J. says:

Monitors in stock, even has the RR offer listed. but … no coupon :-( The book in my area (northeast ohio) shows a grandmother and grand-baby on the cover. There is no monitor coupon in that book. Must be a west-coast offer.

    • Anonymous says:

Actually, that is the OLD Diabetes Care Book. If you check the coupons in it, they are expired. My store actually had two sets of books: one old and one new. The new one is pictured above and it has the right coupon! It might be worth another check on your next trip to the store.

  55. Maria says:

I went to check like five walgreens and none of them had the coupon in the booklet and it the one book of diabetes didn’t have that couopon !!!!! :(

    • Anonymous says:

It looks like you were looking at the OLD Diabetes Care book. My store actually had two sets of books: one old and one new. The correct book is the new one, and it is pictured above. The old book has a slightly different picture on the cover, and as you noted, doesn’t have the right coupon in it.

  57. AlRod_0703 says:

Is this book still available in stores? @ Melissa I had the same idea lol

    • Anonymous says:

I found it at my store right next to the monitors! If you can’t find it you could ask a cashier or a pharmacist! Good luck!

      • I tried to ask both cashier or pharmacist in my area (seattle,wa) too bad they don’t have it. I was looking for the cheapest monitor since last month. So, i ended up bought it. I think $4.99 for that monitor is not so bad.

        • Phabian says:

The IQ meter for $69.99 is a much better deal because after you use the $50 walgreens coupon plus the $30 from the diabetic answers magazine, you’ll end up with $10 extra. All you have to do is buy the monitor along with $10 worth of items making the total $80 then hand the cashier both coupons then everything will be free.

          • Veronica says:

            What $50 coupon?

            • tookool2c says:

I believe the $50 coupon is a Walgreens IVC (Instan value coupon) Available to print at home off the walgreens website.

  59. Jojo says:

I had no problem with the deal except the manager adjusted the price of the item UP to $10.00 and then entered the coupon. I paid the $.81 cent tax (Nevada) and the RR printed. I found a coupon in a Smith’s (Kroger) coupon insert. I did not know about the Walgreens in-store coupon booklet.

  60. Anonymous says:

I attempted to find the coupon in 2 stores on Monday but none were available unfortunately it would not have matter since there were no glucose monitor left anyway… I was not going to be driving around town looking for more..

  61. Butterfly29 says:

Has anyone had a problem with the not receiving the Register Reward? I know a few weeks ago we weren’t receiving the Cepacol RR after the use of the MQ which made the item free.

    • Anonymous says:

As far I know people have been reporting they were getting them..the cepacol rr fiasco was due to the fact the MFQ coupon was coded the same way the $1 essentially when you use the MFQ with your purchase (you are using RR) no RR printed for you….Good luck!

      • Butterfly29 says:

Thanks Luvflowers, on the Cepacol deal the manager pushed out the RR and told me it was my lucky day since the ad showed it. I just wanted to make sure before I head to Walgreens this afternoon.

        • Anonymous says:

Butterfly29, I tried the deal above this morning and the $5.00 Register Reward did print! The Cepacol Register Reward didn’t print a couple of weeks ago because of a weird fluke. It seems the coupon was coded in the same way as a Register Reward, so the system thought it should print a “second” Register Reward. You shouldn’t run into that problem with this deal!

      • Anonymous says:

This is not the case. I used a $1 RR to buy the cepacol during the sale and a RR did print. There was a problem with the coupon but not because it was coded as a RR.
