Excellent special on Nasoya, a well known brand. However, tofu eaters should also consider less well known brands. One grocery chain near me is offering a brand of 1 pound tubs of tofu at 10/$10. You can pop the tubs into a freezer as is and use later. The texture changes slightly after thawing and you may have to press out a bit of water but the nutritive value is unimpaired. Be sure to examine the size and unit cost of tofu carefully. I nearly was sucked in by what appeared to be a great special at another market. The tub appeared similar for the weight was less and when the actual per pound cost was calculated it was not such a good deal. Lastly, check the ethnic markets for tofu particularly if they cater to Korean, Japanese, and Chinese customers. I found a six pound tub of tofu at a Korean market which calculated out to a per pound cost 25% less than what I normally pay.
