Went to closest dollar tree today – fist time since they started taking coupons. very disappointed. Of all the good deals they only carrried one product that matched my coupons. Going to try another one later this week. Hope i have better luck there.

  2. cause its fun says:

I found that my local Dollar Tree store had gone to pulling the items off the shelves. I saw through an open stock room door aprox. 6 crates of Airwick candles. There were none on the shelves. When I showed them the coupons and asked for some of the candles they insisted that they didn’t have any and that they were out of stock. The woman commented on my coupon binder and said she loved coupons too. Told her thanks, and that I only wanted a few candles I don’t clear shelves and she said “boy I do though! You snooze you loose!” I will NEVER go back there again!

  3. Marly says:

My Dollar Tree was great. I got 4 Olay bars, free advil, free deoderant, and free toothpaste. The cashier did have to enter the coupons manually, and she said WOW, what a great deal.

  4. jen says:

I went to my Dollar Tree today and was told that they cannot accept any coupon for multiple items ie $1.00/2 or .50/2. They can only accept coupons for cents/dollar amounts off 1 item.

    • Anonymous says:

That’s not true. Being your printed coupon policy with you… That way they get educated about it… ;)

      • lauralyles says:

I actually spent time talking to the mgr yesterday about the $/2 because I had read so many comments about it and hadn’t tried it. They policy clearly states that the coupon cannot exceed the price of the product (no adjusting down). He told me that they had been getting memos and information about making this clearer to the employees. He said that you should call DT or the Regional Mgr and explain that your store is not following policy. He said they should all be getting the same updated information. Try again with the policy info, if not ask for regional mgr # and contact them. Don’t try to go straight to corporate, follow a smaller chain of command.

I’m not understanding. So, if you have a q for $2/2 you can’t use it if each item is $1 or more?

          • Diana says:

No you Cannot use a 2.00 coupon off of 2. It cannot be over 1.00. Even if it is for 2 products.

  5. lena3018 says:

I was able to get my Olay bars at the Dollar Tree for free. I found more coupons to use so I will try my luck this week to get two more for free.

  6. Lore says:

People that don’t coupon don’t know the difference between transaction, purchase & item. So they just say no.

  7. Lore says:

I had a bit of a problem with them also, as to see their copy. They maybe reading it wrong. That was the case at my store. We read it together and it was cleared up. It does in fact state on the copy I read sent from corporate: 2 Internet printed at home coupons per transaction. No free coupons. No coupons for over $1, unless for multiple items then the coupon amount can not be for over the total of the items prices together. They can limit the number of coupons per transaction or day a customer can use. If a coupon I’d torn then taped they have been instructed not to take it. I also found separating your food and non food into different transactions made the coupons work better for some reason. Hope this helps.

  8. wendy says:

my dollar tree store would not take the olay coupons. manager said that their olay bar is not the original olay and that the manufacturer would not reimburse them. what?

  9. Kelsey says:

Will Walmart price match Dollar Tree?

    • Mili918 says:

      yes, they match prices

      • lauralyles says:

this one may actually be tricky. i price match at walmart weekly and i have only been turned down for a price match from one store. local store, regional chain. BUT walmart considers it close out and the coupon policy states no closeout matches. this may be a grey area with dollar tree. even though it is not advertised as closeout these are overstock/closeout items. the olay bars for example are an old marketing type box. could work may not.

Buyer beware… dollar tree is worse to coupon at than walgreens. Only 2 coupons allowed per transaction and the cashiers do not know how to enter the coupons. Half of the products listed on KCL under dollar tree do not exist within those stores near me, I hope everyone else has had better experiences

    • holly says:

the stores carry different things. take the coupon policy and if it doesnt show a limit of the number of coupons then you can use as many as you want.

    • couponingcouponer says:

Dollar Tree actually only accepts 2 PRINTABLE coupons per transaction but you can use as many newspaper coupons as you would likr

      • Anonymous says:

It turns out by looking at the online policy for dollar tree my local stores are adding a little verbiage on to their coupon policy signs posted at the register stating that only 2 man coupons (newspaper not online) per transaction while online it does not limit.

      • mary221 says:

I asked about the coupon rules and KCL that is what they told me also. 2 printable, but as many newspaper as I had.

    • Anonymous says:

That’s the same thing my mom was told but it’s wrong info. As per their q policy, 2 IPs and as many from inserts. At my DT, I used 4 from inserts and no problem. Although cashier looked at q’s like crazy cause I was getting the free speed sticks… Problem, like you said, I haven’t found everything posted here at my local DT… But still looking cause I’m trying to build up a good donation bag with different stuff… ;) Bring the store’s q policy with you… I have it in my binder just in case… Looks like they don’t know their policy yet cause it’s new… ;)

    • couponisforme says:

I’ve never had a problem using my coupons at dollar tree. I’ve use up to 50 coupons in one transaction and the cashier was very helpful….. dollar tree is one of my favorites store…… :)

    • gloria says:

I had the same experience and customer service is beyond terrible at the dollar tree in my location.

  11. SinginginTheRain says:

I was able to snag Olay bars, Loreal Paris eye liner, Advil, and Air Wick candles for free from my Dollar Tree this week! Super great deals!
