ok i have a question about krogers coupon policy????? i called one krogers and my sister called the other(same city) the kroger said that we could double coupons if they exceeded more then have the price if the product. example the maruchan noodle coupons that are 50c cannot be doubled because that will be more then the product (1.00) so you could not get them for free. just 50c off.??????????? so anyone know what the heck she is talking about? it seems like to me that she is just making up her own rules so she don’t have to be bothered with double coupons.

At my local Kroger’s all 50c and under coupons just automatically double, so its not up to the cashier or managers whether it does or not. However, if they see you are getting an item for free and want to be picky about it, unfortunately every store has the “right” to not accept coupons for whatever reason they choose. I know in Kroger’s printed policy it states they generally will not accept a coupon that is valued at more that 75% of the products price (they claim its unlikely to be legit) but that wouldn’t apply to this 50c off coupon since its only over 75% AFTER the store matches and doubles it. Can be so confusing I know, I have yet to have a cashier decline a coupon because of doubling tho so Good Luck!

my sister just had 5 coupons rejected for this reason. but she goes to the same kroger’s every week sometimes twice. so they know her but it was only with the noodle coupons that they were giving her a hard time over. i think it was because the cashier was jealous. thank you for all the help

Recently, I doubled a 50/1 coupon on softsoap bodywash.. the bodywashes were .88 and my coupon only doubled to .88
the cashier didn’t do anything different because my other .50 Qs doubled to $1.

Ya, I know how that goes, I used 4 coupons one time, just 4! The guy behind me had the nerve to say “Gah this extreme couponing crap… just go to walmart” like a idiot lol. I just laughed at him and said “If you think this is extreme you are EXTREMELY ignorant” But it does get aggravating sometimes so I try to stick to the self checkout lines when I can.

Im in Port Huron too and I usually only go after supper..Ive found less problems with ignorant jealous cashiers at this time and have NEVER had any problem yet with the yakisoba noodle q’s over the last yr. Knock on wood. I have had other issues..like them not ringing all my coupons..not being able to redeem a raincheck unless I bought 10 of the product? I go to the kroger on 24th st by the way. I know each region is different, but my store (in MS) will allow it to double up to making it free, no overage. I had a $.55 coupon for a $1 item, so it listed $.55 coupon, $.45 bonus coupon, rather than giving me $.10 overage. The computer does it automatically. The cashier really has to control over it.

Many Kroger will not allow overages on coupon use if that is the only item you are purchasing. For example, the noodles would be considered an overage even by the $0.01, if that was the only item you had in that transaction. A way to get around that would be to combined those coupon items with other items you plan on purchasing. The overage from the $0.50 doubled coupon would carry over on your total price. For instance, let’s say you are buying 2 packs of noodles, and a candy bar. You may not have a coupon for the candy bar, so you would still have to pay for that item. You present your coupons and the full $1.00 would be taken off because the register is not having to worry about an overage, you still are going to have a total. I hope this makes sense, it was confusing to me as well starting off.

Ok sorry one more question (I’m new to couponing). If it’s $1.67 each for 3, can you get 6? I’m wondering because the Kroger e-coupon is good for 5 different times in a single transaction so couldn’t I use the .50/1 for 5 of the 6 sauces? Am I making sense? Any tips appreciated!!

Usually with Kroger, you can buy just 1product and you will pay just 1.67, its not like at CVS where you have to buy 3 to get the deal.. If you’re talking about a 3 for $5 products.. the first two will ring up 1.67 and the last will be 1.66
So you could purchase just 5

The datona ecoupons loaded to the kroger card can be applied up to X times in one transaction. So with that ragu ecoupon you could buy 5 in the one transaction at the 1.67 each and get 50 cents off each of them. The only exception, at least in detroit MI area, for X for X deals is with the buy X items to save X dollars deals. Those ones you have to buy the exact amount of items to get the X dollars. For example buy 10 items and save $5. Typically there is a group of items to choose from where you can buy any of them for a total of 10 items and save $5.

I was told last week at my Kroger that the policy on double
coupons was getting ready to change and
they were going to stop doubling coupons altogether. I really upset about this

If your Kroger doubles coupons, then the double price is after your store doubles your coupon.

Some stores will double a coupon up to a certain amount so if for instance you have a coupon for .50 and they are doubling that day, your coupon is now worth $1.00! Its a great way to save HOWEVER alot of stores are getting away from it. As far as ive seen, none of the major stores in South Texas do it.

I had a rain check for purex from awhile back when they had a 50% off sale on the purex. So I combined that with the 60 cent coupon for 5 75oz bottles and paid just over $1 each I could have saved another 20 cents a bottle had I seen this before shopping today. But still it was a great deal.

I live in Texas and actually got the Hormel Compleats for $1.00/1. Also My store had the Hormel Country Crock Side Dishes on sale for $2.50 and with the $1.00/1 from the paper two weeks ago, that made them $1.50.

Stopped in my Kroger today (in MS) and they had the boxes of Pillsbury Valentines cookies on clearance for 0.75. I had a bunch of those 0.75/2 Pillsbury refrigerated cookie q’s, so guess who’s got a metric ton of cookies! LOL Nah, even though they had LOTS, I only got 10 boxes. Paid 0.375 each after q’s. Not bad for our favorite non-homemade cookies.
