Walgreens Extreme Couponing (Week of 2/17): $5.00 or Less

Walgreens Extreme Couponing (Week of 2/17): $5.00 or LessWelcome to this post where we will lay out some extreme couponing deals that will cost you about $5.00 each week! First, here’s everything you need to know about shopping at Walgreens: Walgreens allows one manufacturer coupon and one store coupon per product. You may use Walgreens Register Rewards in addition to these coupons. The Register Rewards print like a Catalina on a little machine near the cash register. The most important thing to remember when coupon shopping at Walgreens is that you have to have as many items to purchase as you have coupons, including any Register Rewards you want to use. We often use “filler” (cheap, extra items) so that we have enough items to purchase. Walgreens has just launched a Balance Rewards Loyalty Program. Click here to read about it. Here you will also find a chart indicating how many rewards dollars you’ll receive when you earn so many points. According to the chart, 1,000 Balance Rewards Points equals $1.00–$1.25, depending on when you choose to cash out your points. Before shopping at Walgreens, you might want to review the Walgreens How-To Video. Walgreens is certainly the hardest drugstore to shop, but it has the best deals! What I like most is that you can repeat the deals and get more product. The limits are just one per transaction, so you can get more than one item–just don’t clear the shelves! Here’s a link to the coupon policy.

So What’s the deal…. does anyone know why my RedPlum wouldn’t have the wet n wild coupon in it. This is happening alot and I am missing out on the best coupons I buy 2 papers every sunday and they have redplum in them but not the good coupons I’m seeing here. Any ideas? I just wrote to redplum about this but maybe someone on here knows. thanks

Coupons have levels. In high volume areas the coupons are a level 5. They range from 1-5. One being the lowest and five being the highest. You may be buying a paper in an area that is a category 3 therefore the coupons aren’t the best. My area got rid of the Red Plum all together. Hope this helps!!!

    • Erika J. says:

Coupon inserts are regional. Example: I live in Ohio. We don’t even get the Red Plum until Tuesday (in the mail). And we rarely get the good coupons, like all the ones from last week, didn’t get :-(

    • steph says:

sometimes there are two different red plums in the paper, I pretty much tear the paper apart to see whats in it and compare it to the biggest paper I can find then usually buy both if there identical, alot of people take some of the inserts out unfortunately, But coupons vary from state to state, I occasionally ask the clerk if they know what is in the paper, or they know me so well they will just tell me the number of inserts this week.

The coupons are regional-the city 45 miles away gets all the good coupons-but if I buy that paper here-I still get the same coupons that I get with our paper-if I am able to somehow get the paper from the bigger city-the good coupons are there. I have just learned to not get excited about great deals posted-because I know I won’t be getting the good coupons!

Thank you all for sharing. I was worried that I kept buying papers that had been tampered with. They do sell the indianapolis paper too here… so I did look in there this week and could only see one single coupon sheet! for the pantene bogo. So it must be since they put it together in my home city it gets the same coupon as kimmer49 stated. Well that’s not kool but it looks like I’m not the only one. :) I wonder though if I find the coupons to buy online if it’s even worth it because I would assume they wouldn’t get to me until the sale was over. That bums me out a bit.

  4. What zip is the Hersey’s coupon under?

  5. Mildred says:

tried for two weeks to get the free poise cooling wipes from walgreens only to keep being told they should be on the truck…now with it expiring today they said the item was being discontinued….funny it’s at walmart and target……could hae used at walmart but didn’t realize til today and they had run out by the time i got off work and got to the closest walmart.

    • Sara says:

Same here about trying to get them. Except I was always told that “it was a new item” and therefore they didn’t have it in stock yet.

      What’s up???

    • Angelina Ochoa says:

Ask for a raincheck regarding the poise wipes!! :)

The Contour next EZ is on sale again $9.99 there is a $10.00 coupon in the booklet ” diabetes care ” making free AND you get 2000 points woohoo

    • Erika J. says:

Free? not this week. The ad says “$10 off”, not $10 sale. (just got back from Walgreens and these are the prices)

      $21.99 – regular price
$11.99 – this week sale ($10 off w/ savings card)
      minus
$10.00 – coupon from diabetes care book
      equal
      $1.99 get 2000 pts

They are only free when they are on sale for $9.99 and use the $10 coupon.

Awesome just came back from my local Walgreens and got this deal . Thank you very much .

  7. Christine Dilullo says:

Last night at Walgreens, the manager told me that as of June 2013, Walgreens will no longer be accepting coupons. They are going to lower all prices instead and go for a more discount store model. Has anyone else heard about this?

  8. The Schick hydro disposables / razor systems give you a $4 RR, not 4000 points. :)
