Before becoming Krazy Couponers, many of us would write up a weekly menu based on what sounded appetizing, then make a shopping list according to the planned meals, regardless of price. However, the Krazy lifestyle allows you to save much more by planning meals around what is on sale that week.

The day the grocery ads come out is the perfect time to start planning! Check out what’s on sale for the coming week, follow The Krazy Coupon Lady matchups, and pair available coupons with the sale prices. Jot down the best prices of foods you eat, and outline meals based on the flyers. For instance, if your local store has pasta sauce and fresh French bread on sale this week, plan a spaghetti dinner. If you know you’ll be busy on a day next week, make a double batch of tonight’s meal and freeze half. This way you’ll only have to thaw and reheat!

A basic tenet of Krazy Couponing is stockpiling, or buying extras of rock bottom-priced items so you won’t have to pay full price on last minute runs to the store. A stockpile of foods you frequently eat means the basics are on hand to help shape meals. Some of the best edible stockpile items are non-perishables that have a longer shelf life, like pasta, rice, canned fruit and vegetables, honey, yeast, canned tuna, condensed cream soup, and olive oil. Once you have a good stockpile, pair these items with fresh ingredients that are on sale and in season.

Think this famly could be a little more color matching? ALL gray and yellow. Lol, what family dresses like that?

I need to start planning meals. I have been using coupons for almost 3 months now and have saved a lot of money. But I also still spend a lot. I have been planning meals day by day from what we feel like eating that day.

I used to come home and pick out whatever looked good at the moment. And have actually couponed for about 2 years steadily now. But recently over the past few months I have found myself because it has been easier to take like sunday evening and decide a meal for Monday – Thursday. :) It has helped even if I switch a meal from one day to another. Fridays is our get whatever you want for dinner day. Keeps the kids happy. If they want to eat chef boy r dee that night or hot pockets they can. Keeps me from being a short order cook any other time during the week. And with a house of 6, It’s like a saving grace. Lol

Thanks will have to start doing that. 6 in my house also. So seems it could save me some time also and money. :)

What a great-looking family!!!
The father looks like Zorro and the mom looks like a star from a TeleNovela and the kids look as sweet and as wholesome as can be.
