When I go to Walgreens to buy a product that is free after it prints a rr which I also have a coupon for (like the $7 anti itch cream – $1.50/1) do I have the cashier ring it up, then the $1.50/1 coupon and then have them scan my walgreens rewards card to have if ring up properly or does if matter?

Worked for me in CA. Paid $0.72 for 2 sticks tonight.

Got this deal, thanks!

I am so frustrated that my Walgreen’s store did not allow me to use my coupons. I knew I should have brought the coupon policy with me!

I seen this post too late :( and I don’t remember seeing bogo in the sale paper. Had I known sooner I could have donated them. At least someone will still get to use the coupons since I will be donating those, I just need to find out where I take them. My friend in the navy didn’t know.

Got 24 of them, only paid 5.46. YAY!!

Worked for me…thanks for the tip!!,

Just got the deal with no problem! So far my experience with Walgreens has been awesome! I just started couponing a few weeks ago! Thanks for the info on the great deal.

It’s funny how one Walgreens prices these at $3.49 and another Walgreens just one mile down the road prices them at $3.59. With the BOGO coupon, it was still a great price.

i have 60 of those coupons, but IM thinking its not going to ring up and its a 30 mins drive for me,…

Reply

If you don’t mind me asking, how does one obtain 60 of a certain coupon?

Reply

WHY would someone need 60 coupons of the same thing?

Reply

If you’ve ever been on a crowded bus or subway, then you know when it comes to deodorant, some people can use more than 60.

Haha! I love your comments, Pizzaz!

Reply

Thanks KCL! Ha! Ha! Pizzaz trys to keep them humorous, but meaningful. ;)

Before anyone assumes that buying 60 of one thing is WRONG/CRAZY/WHATEVER, plz stop & ask nicely if you really are just curious. I get LOTS of certain items, sometimes 300+, but before you get all negative realize I have a HUGE family & I work in nursing homes a LOT, SO it all goes to a good cause. So, there ya go, maybe that’s why she needs 60 of the same thing!

She probably bought them from a clipping service, like The Coupon Clippers. That’s what I do when I want to buy a lot of coupons of a certain item. Clipping services are really good if you donate your items to charity (:

Yep, truly insightful comment Pizzaz. I guess many would have shared some of those 60.

Reply

Some do, some don’t. Who truly knows?

I saw these for a dollar at my walgreens. Maybe I’ll get lucky and score two free ones today (crossing fingers for the same price)

Good luck!

how does it work? If i have a coupon for BOGO don’t they just give it to me as a BOGO? I want to run to the store today but I don’t get how it works to get both discounts to make it .10

At Walgreens, when a Buy One Get One Free promotion combines with a Buy One Get One Free coupon, it means two items are free! Because the maximum value of the coupon is $2.99, pay the difference! The men’s deodorant is $3.19. $3.19 minus $2.99 is $0.20. $0.20 divided by two deodorants is $0.10 each.

Just got back from the store. This deal did not work. They rang in correctly at $3.19, bogo free but the coupon only takes $1.60 off. I talked to a manager who said each item is only $1.60 (which is not how it prints on the reciept) so I can only get $1.60 off. I am writing to corporate now but it never helps :(

Reply

Didnt work for me either…. they saidn I had to buy 4 to use just one coupon…. still a decent deal, I was just hoping to score them for cheaper!

Reply

You don’t need to buy 4 to use the coupon. The Walgreens coupon policy states that you can use a coupon applying to BOTH items that are part of a Buy One Get One Free promotion. I’m sorry your store didn’t follow the coupon policy!

Reply

Same thing happened to me. I had 3 b1g1 from paper. manager said i had to buy 3 in order for them to honor coupons. so i got 9 deodorant for 9.06. i wanted to pay .25 each :( should i call someone to see that they are honoring their coupon policy correctly???

Reply

Always take the policies with you, I learned that early on! I got it today and it worked fine.

Reply

It did the same thing to me..they were priced at 3.49 the cheapest at my store and it only took off 1.75 for each of the 3 coupons. But i told her that it said maximum 2.99 and that they were 3.49 each so the cashier manually changed them to 2.99 and I paid $1.50 for 6 deodorants or .25 each.

Reply

yeah our manager is mean and even though i had the policy with me she said she was following it :/ I wrote corporate. We’ll see if they do anything about it besides have her call me and tell me the exact same thing on the phone she told me in the store.

Reply

I’m sorry, Kristen! That is frustrating!

Reply

Same for me :(

Reply

Mine worked..It was 3.19, got a free one and the coupon took off 2.99 which is the maximum amount the coupon will take off.

This happen to me at first too, because of how the cashier was ringing up the items. She was scanning one, then hitting x6 (i was buying 6 of em), When she did that, they were ringing up buy one get one 50% off, instead of buy one get one free. I ran back and grabbed the stick to show her then she called the manager to see why they were ringing up wrong and the manager explained to her that you have to scan each item separate if they are on sale. And sure enough, that was the problem. She did em one at a time and they rung up for buy one get one free.

Reply

Just to be clear, I only have to buy two deodorants and I can still use my buy one get one free coupon? Should I give my rewards card first and then coupon or does order not matter. Thank you!

Reply

Correct. It doesn’t matter what order you hand the cashier your card and coupon.

Excited about going this afternoon, now! Wonder if the Swiffer 20% off is on, too! Want to use those bogo coupons!!!!!

Good luck!
