Stock up early on Halloween candy! Earlier we wrote about Mars candy bags for $1.00 at Walgreens. Nestle candy bags are also only $1.00 this week! Stack a manufacturer coupon from Sunday’s Smart Source insert with a Walgreens coupon from the September Savings Book. It’s on page 9.

Note: For some reason, the Walgreens coupon isn’t working for the bags of Butterfinger candies. Buy Baby Ruth, 100 Grand or other Nestle bags instead of Butterfinger!

Buy 6 Nestle Fun Size Candy Bags, 9.8-12 oz $2.50 each, when you buy 2, sale price through 9/21
Use three $1.00/2 Nestle or Wonka Fun Size Halloween Candy Bags, 9.2 oz or larger from SS 9/15 (exp 10/6)
And use one $3.00/3 Nestle Fun Size Candy, 11-12.5 oz, Edy’s or Dreyer’s Ice Cream, 48 oz or Jack’s Pizza, 12 in from Walgreens September Savings Book (exp 9/28) will automatically deduct $3.00 twice
Final Price: $1.00 each, when you buy 6

I had problems at Walgreens today- Glade Sense & Spray coupons wouldn’t scan for the $3 each, so the cashier had to ask someone and eventually entered them in manually. Then, the Register Rewards didn’t print out, so she had to ask again. The two ladies determined that the RR wouldn’t print out, because then the product would have been free & that just CAN’T happen. They were so sure but I was equally sure that they should have printed out. After about 15 minutes of me insisting, they finally agreed to just enter the Sense & Sprays as $0. They made sure to let me know that they would check on this, since it just isn’t right. Luckily, this is my first time with this happening!

Since the coupon did not scan and the RR did not print, perhaps you did not buy the correct item? There are several Glade products and coupons and deals going on and it can get confusing to keep them all straight. I used the coupon and received the RR with no problem. IMO, their explanation is ridiculous and they just do not understand how their programs work.

Oh, trust me, we checked and double checked and even triple checked. The product I bought was the same picture as on the coupons. You’re right, though, about the products being nearly the same and confusing.

is there a limit on the times you can go in and buy candy or of coupons that can be used? Per transaction?

  3. Michelle Henley says:

I tried it at my store It didnt work for me they would not double the in store coupon.

    • Anonymous says:

It’s not that they “double” the coupon. For Walgreens coupons, you scan the coupon one time and it applies to all applicable items. Look closely at the receipt and see if the coupon was applied to all items–sometimes it does not look like it but when you add the items up, it is the correct amount that it should be after coupons. Sometimes it may show as a coupon and sometimes it just adjusts the price of the item. Several times I thought the coupon did not take but the bottom line price was correct.

      • Michelle Henley says:

Thank you for clarifying. No it only came off once and was $3 over what it should be. I brought it up to the store manager today and he gave me store credit for it :) He said my clerk should have rang it up as two transactions.

My walgreens didn’t double the $3

worked on butterfingers and grand 100 for me :)

I did this deal today, but only had 2 of the MQ’s…so I was prepared to use those and the $3/3 Wags coupon once and buy 4 bags. This would still be $1.25 per bag….then when I looked at my receipt after the fact, it had deducted $1 from each of the 4 bags with the Wags coupon…so I still got them for $1 each! Yippy!

I bought some candy today at Walgreens and on the Snickers and Milky Way package there was another peel away coupon. It was $1.00 off of any two. But says cannot be combined with any other offer. Does that mean you cannot combine it with the Walgreens coupon either?

  8. Peter Coupon says:

the walgreens coupon was only ringing up once and since it said only 1 per customer…it only took $3 :(…I paid 1.50 for ea bag which it was not that bad :). walgreens do this too me every time :(

  9. chelsea says:

Has anyone seen the bags of candy like this get any lower in price around Halloween in past years?

  10. coupons22 says:

I’ll be going to get mine today!! :)

  11. NurseLaura82 says:

I’m new to this so maybe I’m wrong, but is it possible that if one of you posted the zipcode of where you did get the coupon those of us who didn’t might be able to print it?

I plan to purchase my candy on Friday and I will use the coupon I received yesterday. Get 5,000 points for a $20.00 purchase 9/20// thru 9/22/2013. If I purchase 6 bags I will pay $7.05 and if I figure in the value of the points my actual cost will be $2.05.

  13. Erin says:

Yep it Walgreens coupon didn’t work on the butterfingers but it is included so my cashier just manually put it in for me :))

  14. Jessica Thompson says:

My walgreens would only let me use 2 manufacturer coupons and the walgreens coupon, so I paid $7 for 6 bags. Anyone else run into this?

    • M3 says:

nopers….my mom printed 3 (tried the fourth, but she’s new to this printing thing, lol)…she was able to get 9 bags in the same transaction for 9.68…I did this yesterday with 6 bags….no problem..try a different walgreens…the cosmetics counter is always very friendly…I also picked up all the glade warmers they had, as I had pre ordered last week….58 of them…now I am waiting to find some of the refills on sale…voila! xmas gifts for all the kids teachers, and everyone I know!

    • No, and that is weird. Did they say why?

      • Jessica Thompson says:

She said the register wouldn’t accept it because there were too many coupons for the same items she didn’t really explain why. And the walgreens coupon was only ringing up once she had to manually take off the other $3.

You have to have no more coupons than the number of items you are buying. Find cheap filler items like the 29 cent cowtails or some ramen or something so that it equals out.

It happened to me on the Colgate Sensitive deal they have this week. But the manager was nice enough to give it to me anyway. I think it was because I was there for 1/2 trying to get it to work out like it did in my head.

    • Melanie says:

Yes, I just had the same problem. I guess I cannot complain though…still a great deal.

    • elliot says:

Yes!! It happened to me, too! I bought 6 bags of 100 Grand and had to pay $7, the computer wouldn’t accept the 3rd manufacturer coupon. I had exactly 6 items, 3 manufacturer coupons and the walgreens’ coupon book — anyone know why that happened?

  15. Katie Goin says:

8 bags of candy for $8.00! Fantastic! Thank you!

  16. boobear27 says:

Drats! I didn’t get that coupon in my SS this week ah well…Darn regional coupons! lol

  17. jmt1002 says:

I could not find this coupon in the inserts. It must have been regional.

  18. Jillian says:

You can even print the Walgreens coupon on their website!

  19. Sabrina says:

Of course this week I didn’t pick up extra papers. Hope there is a printable soon where I can get this deal later in the month.

  20. Peter Coupon says:

walgreen coupon will double even if it said limit one per customer? I am planning to walgreens tonight hopefully works.

    • Yes, it will. The register will do it automatically, so you don’t have to worry about it! (Just don’t buy Butterfinger for a smooth checkout!)

      • bee says:

You can buy Twix cookie bars for $1.50. It’s 2/$5 and use $1 off Mars fun size coupon in September booklet. And some candy package has $1 off for 2 packs. I found them and used them and total price $1 per package too.

      • couponer says:

Just did my candy run today, I got Mars and Nestle bags with MQ and WQ worked out to $1 per bag. The interesting part was that they had the nice big zipper binders Five Star brand on clearance for $4.14 – 2 MQ that I had, made the $15 binder come out to $2.14. Yes I took all they had, just 2. Now I can have 2 binders for my coupons!!!

    • M3 says:

but it doesn’t say OPC..its same as Mars Q, just done by nestle…glad this was posted cuz I have used all the mars I could get ahold of (printables) and nestle is in the inserts I search so hard for…lol…great deals…and we will be the house this year that has ‘da bomb’ chocolate bars!

    • Jennifer Simms Bevard says:

At my WalgreensI tried that today on the Colgate Sensitive deal and the register would not let me use 2 of the $3/3 coupons because it said one per customer. Luckily, the manager was nice enough to finagle a few things (I think she finagled it a little too much because it came out cheaper then on my paper, but I am not complaining).
