I’ve heard that you can’t use ANY RR/Catalinas to pay for deals that are supposed to print out a RR/Catalina because they won’t print out at the end….

I know this transaction may be a bit different because we’ll have 4 items with only 2 manufactures coupons, but If we use a previous $3 RR/Catalina to pay for this deal along with the coupons, will the $1.50 RR/Catalina print out at the end of the transaction?

    • That’s not correct. Occasionally a Register Reward won’t print for some mysterious reason, but using a coupon is not one of those reasons.

    • beloved says:

You can use a Catalina to purchase an item that generates a RR (and vice versa) SO LONG AS the Catalina/RR you are using is not going to generate another Catalina/RR from the same company. For example, you couldn’t use a Catalina you earned from purchasing Crest toothpaste to buy a box of Puffs tissues because both products are manufactured by Proctor and Gamble. In the example above, you couldn’t use a RR or Catalina that was generated by Unilever to pay for your purchase because Caress is also manufactured by Unilever, and therefore your Catalina for the body wash wouldn’t print. The use of coupons–manufacturer or store–have no bearing on whether a RR/Catalina is generated.

How do we know if the catalina is valid in our area? It’s not showing up in my coupon network. Think this may be regional?

  4. Shelly Jobes says:

can someone explain to me how this works? can I use two of the $1 coupons on buy one get one free since it says $1 on and TWO products? Can I use the catalina on the purchase?

    • According to the Walgreens coupon policy, a coupon CAN apply to a free item. So buy four (two will be free) and use two $1.00/2 coupons. A Catalina is like a Register Reward; it is a coupon that prints at checkout with a qualifying purchase and it can be used on a future shopping trip on almost anything in the store. Click on the “101″ tab at the top of our Walgreens page for more information on Register Rewards. (A Catalina is the same thing as a Register Reward at Walgreens.)
